Great bottomless brunch! Servers walked around with pitchers refilling mimosas before they were half empty. The food was incredible and we left completely stuffed. Great atmosphere for a posh brunch.
Had brunch here. The food was so-so and a little over priced for what you got to be honest. It's only really worth going here if you want to do the bottom-less brunch which, I believe, is limited to 2 hours.
We went here for a bite before attending a show, we got early bird menu. It's very good value for money and food is lovely. The only quack was that my partner burger was really really undercooked. the staff was quick to react and the chef agreed that it was underdone. We were offered another be but won't have time so we were given free dessert and cocktail and not charged for burger. apart from this all was great
The food was great but what I will remember this place for was the service. I didnt feel rushed at any stage. Staff were friendly and smiley and very attentive.
Fantastic food, brilliant cocktails, good wine list, lovely atmosphere, couldn't ask for more!
Cleaver East is by far my fav restaurant in Dublin. Their sister restaurant (around the corner) Beef and Lobster is my 2nd fav. Food is always prepared and served to a very high standard. Could not recommend either Restaurant highly enough.
Delicious food, great service. Good choice on the menu!
I visited your restaurant on Saturday night with 2 other people and really enjoyed the food, it was delicious.
Although we enjoyed our meal when receiving the receipt we were all a bit shocked to see that we'd been charged for bread and water. Our waiter asked us as we sat down would we like some bread as the food would be a while and also she brought water to the table.
In any restaurant I've visited were bread is offered and water brought to the table it's complimentary so I hope you can see why we we slightly annoyed for not being made aware that both items would come at a cost.
Overall it was nice experience however we were a bit irked about the above issue and so as a result I felt it was necessary to provide feedback on this.
Thank you
Best brunch in Dublin. Amazing service and amazing food. Nice to go to a restaurant and not want to leave.
Really beautiful restaurant, with a big amazing bar il the middle. We went for early bird and it really worth it ! I just don’t appreciate that you have to pay an extra for fries when you take the burger in the early bird menu...
But the food was really good and fine. The personal was truly nice, we have a nice chat with them.
The Food was delicious and so was the wine.
It’s worth noting that if you go for the early bird you need to pay extra for any sides as they don’t come with any.
Staff were very friendly will definitely return!
We went for a bottomless brunch. Food was in tiny portions which were far too expensive- over 10 euros for one crab cake- it was a light bite but had to go for it because there were no gluten free main dishes (as a celiac I have to go gluten free). The bottomless mimosas were great though. Go for the bottomless drinks, but be wary of the food. There were very few vegetarian options either. Saying that, duck nachos which were ordered by a friend who thought them a great portion size and said they were pretty tasty.
While I really liked the atmosphere and the interior of the restaurant, the food was sub-standard. We were waiting 55 minutes for our food to arrive. The manager brought around complimentary nibbles but it seemed as though this was a regular occurrence. When the food did arrive all of the steaks were massively overdone compared with what we had requested. I would go so far as to say it was the worst steak I have eaten in a very long time. To sum it up, nice restaurant but poor food.
Food here was amazing and early bird brilliant value. However, the waitress messed up our order and then came over to say they were 'out of duck' but only told us this as the main courses were being served. The reality was she had ordered the wrong meal and when she went to order the duck it was gone and she only admitted to the mistake after after we probed a little. Everyone can make mistakes (I was a waitress when younger and made my fair share of them) but how it was handled on the night was bad. One of the party got their meal when we were finished as a result. We were offered a complimentary dessert and nobody wanted one and despite this they brought over a desert? Which we refused. The bill came and despite saying they would discount -the bill came over full price. We had to send it back and explain there should have been a reduction as promised. In the end a starter or something was removed. The point wasn't about the discount but rather an acknowledgement of the mistake and how it affected our overall experience. A complimentary drink and more of an acknowledgement by the manager on duty would have been better. I booked this meal so was very disappointed. I brought my mother here for brunch for mothers day last year and food was great but service was very slow but reserved judgement. I went with friends again for dinner in August and was impressed so felt it would be a good bet for this event this weekend. I would be reluctant to go here again mainly due to the service. As I said food and value however were outstanding. Many of the party work in tourism and agreed we would have to think twice if you were to recommend to visitors/journalists/ tour operators etc as you'd be unsure of the level of service.
The worst service I have ever experienced, I informed the staff on 3 occasions we had somewhere to be & still ended up having to get up & ask someone to take our order, we waited 20 minutes for our wine, our starter arrived before our wine. Also I ordered the pork belly which had no crispy skin, & also did not agree with me later on, which has never happened before. In relation to service, maybe if they spent less time looking at themselves & talking to each other the experience might have been better.
My friend and I enjoyed the Early Bird menu following a recommendation from a friend and were really impressed with the food and decor. Our servers upsell was a little heavy handed and some of the early bird value (€17 for 2 courses) was lost on the sides and wine which was a little more expensive than my last visit to Cleaver East from memory but the overall experience was excellent.
Very good early bird menu. Two courses for two people with a couple of sides for 50 quid (without drinks) and it was really delicious
Food and value both exceptional - service good until the bill, had to ask 3 times despite being 1 of only 2 tables in. Lack of atmosphere because it was so empty, but beautiful space - would definitely go back.
Food was lacking in taste and not well cooked. Menu was very disappointing and it was too loud to have any conversation at the table. Not a good value at all.
Food was gorgeous. Bottomless cocktails constantly topped up. Staff couldn't have been nicer and so attentive. Can't wait to go again.
Service quite erratic, first glass of red forgotten, when I ordered a second, a cocktail was produced! €3.75 for bread-a ripoff , having to pay extra for chips with a burger is absolutely daft!! Will not return
This is a lovely restaurant with comfortable contemporary surroundings. The food is very tasty and the early bird is particularly good value at €17 pp. However we were very disappointed with the standard if service. Our waitress did tell us it was her first night . She then proceeded to totally mess up our order. She SHOULD have been monitored on her first night instead of the experienced staff fobbing it off with" ah..it's her first night" Unfortunately this took a lot Fri. Our enjoyment of the meal
Wasn't impressed with the 10%service charge for 2 people on the early bird. Plus you has to pay extra for sides. I ordered the burger and HAD to pay to have chips with it.
4 of us went for Sunday Brunch. Lovely venue, comfortable seating. Gin/drinks were good. The food we had however was small portions / overpriced.
Went for the Sunday brunch with 3 girlfriends service was exceptional very attentive girls always refilling the unlimited drinks . Food choice and quality outstanding and ambience brilliant x well done cleaver east
Food was lovely and relly but service was lacking. We had to continuously look for attention including water/drinks when we arrived.
5 stars. Can't wait to return. Great food, service was 2nd to none.
Food good but service poor. Staff are not trained and definitely not professional waiting staff
They do not engage with customers
very sloppy service
great restaurant ,staff very friendly we will be back
We were having a birthday brunch for a very special friend. The food and ambience were great, the Bellinis and mimosas were plentiful and constant and the service was very good
Had a lovely meal here last night. Starter portions of duck sliders and nude dog were very good but quite salty.
Steaks were great!
Staff were attentive and friendly. Good food, but expensive.
We thoroughly enjoyed the evening in Cleaver East. We ate from the Early Bird Menu. The food was outstanding, tasty and great value. The sides were extremely tasty, I'd highly recommend the truffle and parmesan fries.
The service was great with friendly staff. I can't wait to go again.
Good food, nice atmosphere. It escapes the usual feel of a hotel restaurant. A solid 7.5 out of 10. There were two of us and we both gave it that score. Starters were really good. Mains were good. Food was tasty and well presented, nothing crazy to write home but litle to complain about too. Cocktails were ok. Staff were really friendly and service was great.
Annoyances were crab starter came on a square piece of glass, personally just find that annoying. Desert which was a brownie Sunday came in a jar which was unnecessary and by the time you got to the brownie at the bottom you were full and it was the best bit!
Excellent food at a not too crazy price. Service was good but not excellent, sometimes we had to wait a tad more than we would like too.
Food was delicious. All of the party was very happy and the early bird was great value for money. Service was a bit touch and go very hard to get attention and they mixed up our drinks order but as we were in a rush we couldnt wait another 20 mins for replacement. Wouldnt turn me off returning though as was still fab overall.
I booked the restaurant for Sunday lunch with friends as we were beginning the celebrations for one friends upcoming wedding. We chose the 'Bottomless Cocktails' option and were very pleasantly surprised with portion sizes and everyone enjoyed their dishes. Our glasses were very rarely,if ever empty as the staff continued to fill them. There was a busy and noisy atmosphere(in a good way) but we could still chat among ourselves without feeling as though we had to shout to be heard.
Would definitely recommend this place to others and can't wait to return for more
Very disappointing. Had been before for the early bird and had been so impressed. Went for brunch this time and was incredibly disappointed. Service was average, felt very under pressure to have the bottomless brunch and to drink, the coffee machine was out of order and it was a freezing cold day hence why they were pushing us to drink. The food was average, nothing particularly impressive. Paid the bill and it took forever to get our change. Had been raving about This place previously and certainly wouldn't be rushing back at all now.
Tasty food, stylish decor, good service. Dire, unsuitable, loud music. Despite a near empty restaurant, seated on top of another couple. Good value early bird menu but you're then charged extra for side dishes. Tips heavily suggested when paying by card.
Overall the brunch was good but the '2 courses' offer was a bit misleading. The starter options or 'light brunch' are what you would expect as a brunch main (eggs benedict, huevos rancheros etc). I found it a bit strange that you would have eggs benedict and then a burger for example.
It would be better to be able to select a desert as one of the 2 courses
Came here with my parents and have to say the food was beautiful. First time eating here and would defiantly come back. Lovely atmosphere.
