At first time at this particular Cote restaurant, we usually visit our one at home quite regularly. This one however was very quiet (no ambiance) and the service was somewhat sporadic and slow.

A bustling, busy brasserie in London’s Theatre district. Food is reasonably priced for the location and it comes with a French edge. Tasty food and drinks and I would suggest reservations.

We chose this restaurant because we needed a table before 1200. The menu is good and varied, with the Prix Fixe menu extremely good value. Service was good although initially slightly slow before the full team came on. But friendly at all times. Not exciting but very reliable.

Côte has been my go-to chain restaurant for many years now and it is sad to see it looking a bit tired. Inflation has done a number on it - lunch now feels really quite expensive - and my usual order of calamari and steak frites feels somewhat mediocre compared to the way it used to be, with overcooked squid and an underwhelming piece of meat. Or perhaps St Martins Lane is not the branch to go to. Certainly our waiter seemed like they’d rather have been elsewhere and who can blame them really. It was … fine, but not the reliably pleasant treat it used to be, and it’s hard to justify the cost now. (Was there a set lunch menu? We weren’t offered one.)

Usual good service and value for money, especially with the set menu. It was very busy but we didn't have to wait to be served. One of my favourite Cotes

We stopped in for a pre-theater meal. We enjoyed the marinated tomato salad and the grilled chicken with mushroom sauce from the prix fixe menu. The star of our meal was the fougasse starter we ordered separately. We chose the version with Comte cheese and caramelized onion. So good!
