   I have admired this little place from outside for some time. I was delighted to finally have my own experience! Everything met my expectations. Tea and food is just delicious. The china and linens are exquisite. The sun happened to be out during my visit, so looking out through the hanging teacups was so pretty. If high tea is your thing then you will really enjoy!

   Cupan Tae is a cute little teashop looking out to the Quay in Galway. Using china teacups, embroidered table cloths and flapper inspired music an ambience is set to transport you back in time to when tea was enjoyed and savoured. The afternoon tea menu is set but there is a huge selection of teas to choose from that have detailed descriptions to help you choose. The ladies serving us were very friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. Each item of food was tea infused and everything was delicious. I had the Roses are Red which smelled amazing and tasted beautiful. I was disappointed when I reached the bottom of my teapot.

   Second time going and we absolutely love it for special occasions. The staff are fantastic and incredibly nice and the food is so good and beautiful. Will definitely be back many more times.

    Cupan Tae Afternoon Tea was the most experience it was just beautiful the servers were so nice the shop is beautifully decorated .The most lovely afternoon ever and we will definitely be back .Wonderful.

    Made a special effort to make it here for a birthday treat to myself. Service was perfunctory at best. The sandwich fillings lacked flavor and the bread was stale. Would not recommend Cupan Tae to a local or a tourist!

    Such a lovely atmosphere and the ladies gracefully serving tea with in their themed dresses made it even more charming! Excellent selection of teas and superb courgette cake (recommended by Roberta). Not to be missed if you like tea, books and a taste of the early XX century!

    Im from the United states and was on vacation with my family when we decided to find somewhere to have afternoon tea and with out search we found Cupan Tea! This Tea house was beautiful and quite. It was so comfortable and the staff was amazing and the food and tea were to die for! this was an amazing experience and one that i will remember for the rest of my life!

    Cupan Tae is a wonderful and memorable experience. The venue is charming and the wait staff are very helpful in terms of describing the dishes, what is special about them, and how they are made. Their expertise is especially impressive when they assist their patrons to choose among their creative and delicious home-blended teas. A delightful experience!

    Afternoon Tea was wonderful and the decor was perfect. I was a little disappointed in the dessert’s, the four choices were all much of the same. A cheese cake or a chocolate mousse would have been lovely

    Absolutely amazing experience. The staff was very friendly, the food and tea were absolutely amazing and the decoration was perfect and created the best ambiance. Also really loved the soundtrack. Definitely going back for all of my special occasions.

    Lovely experience. Selection of teas is tremendous, and it would have been interesting to try several-- but we weren't there for a tasting. We had the afternoon tea, which was filling and delicious. Must have reservation, but it's easy enough to make one on Open Table. Staff are very friendly!

    A lovely place to have an afternoon tea right in the middle of Galway city. We had a nearly perfect experience - a delightful interior, friendly, competent staff that gave great advice about choosing our tea, a wide choice of delicious tea blends, creative, tasty pastries and savouries to accompany the tea. Our only rather minor complaint would be the background music - which was a little too loud and a little too "hectic" and electronic for our personal tastes. But that really didn't take away much from what was altogether a very enjoyable experience.

    Four of us went for afternoon tea. What a beautiful place and experience. We had good weather so could sit outside. Service was excellent and every mouthful a total delight! What a tea menu too. I have been to a variety of different places for afternoon tea and this ranks as my favourite.

    It is a real pity you can’t just go in for a scone or cake and tea. It’s afternoon tea only. Why? We have been going here for years and this time everything was so different. I loved coming in the door and seeing the selection of cakes in front of you. We were given a jug of milk that was gone sour, we were then given a second jug of milk that had clumps of milk in the tea and the waitress told us it was ok, then proceeded to get us the actual carton of the milk and show us the date. Shocking. By the time we got an actual cup of tea it was luke warm and extremely strong, I asked for a new pot of tea and the waitress said she would fill it up with hot water. Standards have definately dropped and the afternoon tea only thing makes no sense. The place was empty and they turned away atleast 10 people in the time we were there that’s just wanted some cake and tea. I have travelled here from Clare for years and am really disappointed. There is no comparison to how it used to be compared to how it is now.

    Brought my mom for her birthday. Staff even sang happy birthday to her , made a fuss of her and gave her a little treat of homemade popcorn. Lovely afternoon tea too .

    My husband and I were in Galway and had afternoon tea here, and we absolutely loved it. The place is absolutely adorable, every corner has something to look at, the staff was lovely. What we didn't expect to love so much was the very catchy and funky swing/flapper music that was playing. It was so fun, not overpowering, and just very appropriate for the setting. We were told the store has a playlist on Spotify but we haven't been able to find it, would love to know what it is! The tea selection is pretty large and they provide a timer so that you steep appropriately, the finger sandwiches, scones, sweets were also all very good and very unique. This will certainly be on our must do list the next time we're in Galway.

    It was an overall wonderful experience, from the tea, to the food, to the staff. The tea is the finest available in Galway. The Emerald Isle is my personal recommendation. In the event that I could have one last meal, I would choose the dessert at Cupan Tae. In addition to delicious food and tea, the ambiance of Cupan Tae is equally enjoyable. The staff is among the friendliest that I have ever met. Despite only having lived in Galway for four months, I always felt like a local whenever I attended Cupan Tae. A trip to Cupan Tae is a must if you are visiting Galway.

    Delightful tea room. We had afternoon tea. It was gourmet all the way. They also have a very wide selection of excellent teas. The service was first rate. Finally, they have loose teas for sale and I bought some for myself as as gifts. I highly recommend.
