Dalston Jazz Bar
Along with the live Jazz music. The restaurant offers some tamer options too: organic lamb, chicken and seafood, so don’t feel pressured to dive into the world of the exotic meats if you‘re planning on taking a visit soon.
Dalston Jazz Bar is happy for guests to reserve a table to enjoy some drinks and the jazz too.
Birthday celebration at the coolest place. Good relaxed atmosphere and the restaurant turns into a bar which turns into a club it’s really awesome!
It’s a great space & good vibes.
Not sure about the policy to pay a basic plus however much extra you choose. Good idea but I ended up paying £15 for my main course, so it then made it over priced plus £7 for a virgin mojito...
The waitresses had obviously just started that day, though they were pleasant. And the chef came and cleared all our table - including the tablecloth and glasses without explaining why & quite abruptly 🤔
I will be back because of the music and atmosphere though.. thank you
Just ace. Yes.
Unusual place but good food and music. Would recommend for a fun night out with a difference.
Food is no good, it was cold and not tasting good. Minimum “donation” it’s £15 per person and it’s not worth it.
Alcohol was not cheap and bad quality.
They have not good ventilation so u go out smelling food smoke.
Only one person to serve all tables so expect to wait.
I will not return.
Great people, Great music, Great vibe. Lovely mix of different people :)
Food is delicious and nice entertainment
I came with my friends for my Bday and I would like to thank you Robert for this crazy night. Once again you delivered and set fire to your Resto/club for us, that’s much appreciated. Long life to DJB
Great experience, good vibe and extremely affordable prices! I would recommend booking the 7pm slot though as we had to wait more than 45mins even with a reservation for the 9pm slot as the restaurant tries to not 'kick people out', hence the extra waiting time. Despite this, we had a fabulous evening, great service and the lamb was delicious. Highly recommend!
The Dalston Jazz Bar is a busy and rustic venue for food, drinks and brilliant live music. The musicians were fantastic, and the music was great. However, that's about the only reason we would return. Our reserved table wasn't ready for us on arrival, they had to move people to squeeze onto another table so we could sit down. We ordered focaccia with olives and tomatoes, it was drowned in oil... couldn't eat much of it because it made us feel genuinely uncomfortable. Although, to be fair, large portion and it looked good. They didn't have any of the red wine on the menu, so we had whatever was left which was (to be fair) a really tasty French red, it was served to us by putting the bottles on the table. We had to wait a while and eventually my friend got up and asked for wine glasses, but they had no wine glasses. After a few moments someone came over and gave us some glass cups... so we drank from them... when we'd finished eating and it was getting later, they took our table away and then told us to stand up when we had continued to sit on our chairs... I mean... it was BIZARRE! Hahahaha. Laughably rude. The atmosphere was... bizarre... loved the music though, and the company... so to be honest we just found the whole thing pretty hilarious.
Terrible service - first the waiter didn't explain how it works there to us when we ordered, we had to wait for 75 minutes for our food, then we were told that the owner/chef got annoyed by our orders and he came to speak to us in a rude way. It really spoiled an evening for us. Even though the food quantity was big and the taste was nice enough (not amazing), we didn't enjoy the whole experience. As soon as we finished our food, the wait came with the bill, we felt like being kicked out in a way after being treated not very nicely. The place is supposed to be "Pay as much as you think it was worth", but the waiter typed in the amount on the card machine without even asking us first and it was much more than we think it was worth. Regrettably, we have to ask him to change the amount as we were not happy with it, which he did. The live jazz music was good though!
A very friendly and good atmosphere. This evening a very nice band with easygoing music. Recommended.
I loved it here... the food was delish, the atmosphere was full of vibes and the jazz band were awesome!
Apart from the fact that the waitress forgotten to put our order through and we have waited almost an hour for one plate which instead of Ackee was served avocado without previous notice, it was a great experience as usual. I believe for what you pay and for what you get is a very great place. I have also understood that they were working with extremely limited staff, so... Altogether is worthy. Just be prepared to wait a bit more than usual and do not expect a super professional service. But the music and vibe is worthy!
Jazz was top level. Ambiance, service and food/drink quality could do better. Would recommend to jazz lovers.
Amazing night out! Having not been in years I took my parents here & I was a little worried they might not feel comfortable in Dalston or it might be too young a crowd. They absolutely loved it, we were there for hours & we ended up dancing too. Great music & brilliant atmosphere created by the musicians & staff too. Thank you!
Everything was great, apart from food which had way to much oil on it!!
