Dublin's most famous pub, certainly in a literary sense, with its Joycean associations. Always classy and fashionable. It's the original Dublin gastropub at over 100 years old.
Anybody who is familiar with Dublin pub food will be aware of Davy Byrne’s food reputation, in which seafood is the speciality.
If you visit the premises at lunchtime and evening time, you will witness the huge trade which is done in fresh Seafood, Wagyu Burgers and pub classics like Fish & Chips. There is also a full range of Salads and Sandwiches to compliment these and, as often as not, you can enjoy Oysters and Guinness.
The classic Gorgonzola sandwich with a glass of Burgundy as mentioned in Ulysses is available every day.

Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate strollers/buggies indoors at Davy Byrnes but subject to availability, we can at our outside terraced area. We apologize for any inconvenience.

    We were seated immediately even though we arrived 10 minutes before our reservation time. Linda seated us and asked if we were celebrating a special occasion. Food was awesome (oysters, steak frites and roasted chicken). The staff brought a birthday brownie for my husband and sang to him, remembering his name. Definitely recommended for ambience, service with a personal touch and excellent food.

    Lovely place, with great staff and fab food. Suitable for lunch or dinner. We had a reservation for lunch and we weren't disappointed. The Beef and Guinness pie was to die for, my only regret is I should have had mash. Partner had hake and chips, which was excellent. Highly recommend this place for couples or friends.

    We wanted traditional Irish fare and the reviews were correct, the food was excellent. The appetizer was incredible, “ Sneem Irish Black pudding” with charred tomatoes, apple chutney, lyonnaise onions and Guinness brown bread. The lamb stew and Beef and Guinness pie were both very savory and seasoned perfectly. Plus the staff was friendly and attentive. Perfect choice for our first night in Dublin

    We had a wonderful time at Davy Byrnes. Our waitress, Alexandre was simply the best. The food was prompt and delicious and the setting is absolutely gorgeous. A great way to experience and enjoy Irish and "Dublinian" hospitality. Highly recommended!!!!

    Food was great asked for no dressing on the salad and ended getting some, when I mentioned it to the waitress her reply was “ the dressing is lovely here “🙄the table was way too small for our food and drinks to be on it at the one time which made things uncomfortable

    Great little restaurant! Food was amazing and high quality. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. The only downside is that I felt the tables were a little too close together for my liking but it is a small restaurant so kinda expected it.

    Food was great although the pie was so hot I had to wait 20 mins for it to cool down enough to eat and by that point everybody else had finished their meal. Otherwise a perfect meal and lovely service.

    As usual Davys ticks all the boxes. The staff are so attentive and pleasant. The food is fab piping hot and plenty of it so good value for money. The music on the Sunday night makes for a fab night you can even have a little dance. So there is something for everyone .

    If it isn't broke don't fix it!! It would appear the new owners have taken a great pub, with fantastic food and great atmosphere and tried to changed it into a restaurant. The food is still good but the prices are a bit varied. They charge 16 euro for a prawn cocktail starter! The service was fine but not wow. For me Davy Byrnes is filled with such happy memories but sadly its just not the same anymore which is such a shame as it was a great spot in the city and always a place for great food, great laughter and great stories..

    Perfect city centre spot for catching up and celebrating milestones with family and friends. The food is really good, exceptional value, and there is something on the menu to suit all. Staff are so welcoming and very accommodating. Would highly recommended, there's always a great buzz about the place!

    It was our last night in Dublin. The food server was very kind. The cocktails were great. The appetizers were just ok. However, we were all very disappointed with our main entrees. The roasted chicken was dry and overcooked and the crispy beef stew my husband ate was burnt and overcooked. Probably the worst meal we had during our visit to Dublin. They were having some issues with their ordering ticketing system - but it's no excuse for the poor quality of dining and food. I do not recommend eating here.
