Ground Floor, Swiss Cottage Leisure Centre, Adelaide Road, London, NW3 3NF

About this restaurant

Located on Adelaide Road, the Swiss Cottage branch of Del Aziz is a bustling delicatessen and brasserie has a posh Middle Eastern marketplace vibe, and the piles of glossy fruit, chocolates and fresh pastries make Del Aziz a cosy spot to enjoy business breakfasts, mint tea breaks, leisurely lunches and candlelit dinner parties. With chunky wooden tables, fresh flowers and a buzzy crowd, the restaurant is run by dynamic husband and wife duo Shahrokh and Zehra Parvin and the hearty, home-cooked menu includes classics such as the spongy semolina Berber pancakes for breakfast served with honey and roasted almonds; the Israeli couscous salad for lunch; and the tuna burger with honey, harissa and sumac.

    Good place for a quick morning breakfast - hot food is back now that they have fixed the kitchen and the sandwiches are very tasty. Good poolside view as well

    And I dont eat at the Golden Arches! Waitress lovely and caring. Burger a limp brown pattie, salad leaves looked like they'd been at the back of my mother's fridge for a week! That said, wine & cordials good & bakery/ cakes looked good. Manager did apologise- eventually... & Downstairs Hampstead Theatre excellent so a great evening. Thank you lovely waitress for saving the day :-}

    I was satisfied with my meal at Del Aziz and the service was fine. The restaurant is within the grounds of the leisure centre, so not a great place to take a date, for example.

    The food was not at all bad, although a little salty. But the ambience and setting fro dinner was just plain weird. We went for a quick bite before going to the cinema and it was so quiet with only 4 tables including us. We sat by the window and watched people swimming while we ate. The waitress wasn't particularly knowledgeable when we asked if she could recommend anything. All in all, it was an experience but definitely not one I will be returning to as it wasn't cheap at £12-15 for a main.

    The food in Swiss Cottage is as divine as the other restaurants. This location appears to be popular for childrens' parties which majorly detracts from the ambience (when compared with the other Del 'Aziz i.e., Fulham). If you want great food, no problems. If you're seeking atmosphere, wait until after 'bedtime' and enjoy.

    I met a friend for dinner at Del Aziz in Swiss Cottage. I hadn't realised that we would have a poolside view, but watching the swimmers do their lengths was more entertaining than distracting. The food was yummy and my veggie friend had lot of options to choose from. The selection of cakes for pudding looked spectacular and the portions were enormous, but somewhat disapointing in flavour and a little dry. Overall a fun evening.

    Haphazard, disorganised and inconsistent. When it is good it is reasonably good value in a comfortable casual setting

    Chosen for its proximity to Hampstead Theatre and the good reviews (which must be from friends/relatives of the owners!) we arrived at 5.40 to an empty restaurant, were totally ignored by the staff, saw a table with my name on it, eventually someone came over and bought menus but could not explain any of the dishes. Waited over 40 minutes for food which was cold and tasteless. Managed to get waiter's attention, said food was cold, she shrugged and walked away. I asked for the service charge to be deducted from the bill, this was removed without anyone even asking why! Why is this place featured on toptable? We would have had a better experience at Macdonalds!!

    We went as a makeshift pre theatre meal but were let down ultimately. Perhaps will go back under different circumstances because it all felt very rushed and uncomfortable.
