Delahunt is a contemporary Irish restaurant and bar situated in a restored historic Victorian building on Dublin’s Camden Street.
Our aim is to provide the best seasonal, local produce in a relaxed and welcoming setting. Our menus are influenced by traditional and often overlooked cookery techniques, in keeping with the buildings Victorian origins. Home curing, slow cooked braises, pickles, preserves, traditional desserts and bread-making are some of our specialities. Championing small local producers is an essential part of our ethos
To add to Delahunt’s history we have built a cocktail bar on our first floor. The focal point is a striking bay window overlooking Camden Street, accompanied by vaulted ceilings, retro furniture and custom wooden paneling, original fireplaces, and a wide range of spirits and craft cocktails. The bar is walk in only.

Delahunt Ratings and Reviews
We enjoyed the food, excellent quality. The atmosphere is so well balanced and the staff extremely welcoming. Generally a great service but on this occasion there was a delay in receiving the pre dinner drinks. Not a problem had the waiting staff explained the reason for the delay but we had to ask after 10 minutes of waiting.
Table space was restricted for a party of 3, as we were against the wall as you enter restaurant. However, these issues whilst a little frustrating, did not have a significant negative impact on what was a good dining experience. Thank you, we will be back and will have no hesitation in recommending Delahunt to our friends
Our host recommended Delahunt to us and we are so glad that we made time to go. The food was exceptional; I've never tasted anything like it. The service was excellent - prompt and the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. It was also a lovely environment and atmosphere to spend a few hours in. Highly recommend.
Booked this restaurant for a sibling's special birthday. We were seated in the snug at the back of restaurant which gave the evening the desired sense of occasion but we still felt part of the bustling restaurant. The food was outstanding however didn't think that the deserts were on a par with the starters and mains. Service & staff was great - all in all, thoroughly enjoyable evening which we finished with a cocktail in the gorgeous bar upstairs. Already planning my next visit.
Excellent dining experience. Highly recommend the smoked salmon starter and the hake main course. Friends had lamb and thought it was excellent. The cheesecake for dessert was a hit as well. Lovely atmosphere and friendly but not overbearing service. That was my second visit and I'll be back for sure!!
We had a gorgeous evening from start to finish. All of the staff were incredible and couldn't have done more for us. It was my mothers birthday and we were seated in the snug which made such an occasion out of the evening. Cocktails, food, service - all divine. Thanks to all of the staff for making it such a great night for her. We'll be back.
Outstanding farm to table - modern Irish cuisine. The four us each had a different starter and main - all were equally great. We had the two sweets and cheese for dessert, which were equally amazing. Truly flawless execution by the kitchen and attentive service. The room is small but comfortable in a historic old store. Don't miss the upstairs bar, which is a former living room.
Delahunt offered us a very pleasant dining experience. The food was very good and the service was exemplary. The Goat Cheese Dumplings with peas and mushrooms in a pea puree was fantastic. The heriloom tomatoe salad with goat cheese was also quite good. The Kilkenny Organic Chicken and the Chrispy Lamb Rump surpassed our expectations. Our wine selection, The full bodied Bellmunt Priorat from Spain, after chilling down to 17 degrees celsius was delicious. Unfortunately, the Irish seem to prefer really cold white wine and, believe it or not, warm red wine. My suggestion is to request that your red wine be served at 15-17 degrees Celsius and your white wine should be served at 5-10 degrees Celsius.
Another highlight of our meal was the great service from Kevin, a Canadian guy with exceptional service skills.
We only had one night in Dublin and prefer restaurants with superior, creative food but not a "white table cloth" atmosphere. The Delahunt fit the bill perfectly. Looked and felt like a pub but with great food. All executed perfectly. And, oh ... the homemade crackers with the cheese plate. To die for
Great food, atmosphere and service - while the menu isn't as extensive as some, each of the four starter and main course options looked great (and the two we selected tasted great as well). Particular mention should go to the lamb which was cooked perfectly and the cheesecake with dark chocolate ice cream. Service was very friendly, attentive but didn't feel rushed along. The building itself (an old fashioned grocers) is also very charming! Great value for money so will definitely be returning.
This was my third time to Delahunts. Very pleased 1st time , less so the 2nd and very disappointed last Wednesday.
There was nothing special about the food to justify the tiny portions and the high prices. It was extremely poor value.
All of our party eat out very regularly, 2 of us frequently entertaining business guests at Dublin restaurants. We will not be returning to Delahunts any time soon.
What a fab restaurant! The waiting staff are very courteous and professional. The room itself is tastefully decorated and bright; old world charm, but not in a stuffy way. The food is the highlight though, everything from the bread to start all the way to the desert was just delicious. At a table of seven, everybody felt the same, no one was unhappy with what they ordered. Can't wait to come back again, I'd like to sit at that bar area, it looks really cool. It's not a cheap meal, but definitely worth it. Check it out!
This was a really nice restaurant in a renovated old grocery shop, so it had heaps of character. The service was low key but really efficient and the food was really good - the lamb just fell apart when I put my fork into it. I was there alone, but was not treated any differently to the other guests.
