Our aim is to provide the best seasonal, local produce in a relaxed and welcoming setting. Our menus are influenced by traditional and often overlooked cookery techniques, in keeping with the buildings Victorian origins. Home curing, slow cooked braises, pickles, preserves, traditional desserts and bread-making are some of our specialities. Championing small local producers is an essential part of our ethos
To add to Delahunt’s history we have built a cocktail bar on our first floor. The focal point is a striking bay window overlooking Camden Street, accompanied by vaulted ceilings, retro furniture and custom wooden paneling, original fireplaces, and a wide range of spirits and craft cocktails. The bar is walk in only.
Although the food is usually really good, I was disappointed that the restaurant did nothing to mark the occasion for why we were there. We chose Delahunt as the location for an anniversary and I had expected as usual with restaurants for this to be reflected in a dessert with ‘Congratulations’ or some sense of acknowledgement which it wasn’t. It just made the night feel a bit clinical and as though there was very little human connection to the cause of our celebration, would have been nice as this has always been the case for me in other restaurants when I’ve explained on the booking that it was a special occasion so disappointing
A lovely evening however the only negative was the smell of drains or poor plumbing which was quite strong around our dining area.
Beautiful vegetarian options.
I booked a table for my partner and I to celebrate his birthday! It was delicious from start to finish and the selection of wines is great, will be back!
Really enjoyed our visit here. Food was gorgeous and the atmosphere was great - busy but not packed, lovely traditional decor and great music. We had the market fish and lamb and both were gorgeous. I am always on the hunt for a decent Irish coffee and without doubt theirs was the best I've tried! Will definitely be going back.
Third time visit. This time with family party of 10.Dined in the snug. My favourite place for nice meal. Great food with no fuss.
Love it here - food always excellent and the staff so accommodating and friendly.
Fantastic food, great flavours, wonderful service and great vibe all round
Wonderful - from the warm welcome to the attentive service. Limited menu but each dish perfectly executed. We weren’t hungry but still ate everything it was so good!
The food at Delahunt is exquisite - the short menu is long on imagination and always surprises on the upside. anyone I introduce to Delahunt is always blown away. The room is lovely and service is warm and friendly. My favorite restaurant in Dublin.
Wonderful! Excellent cooking and everything tastes so fresh
We had a very troubling night and would not recommend this restaurant. Our party of 6 was seated behind a group of four men who were clearly over served and drunk. They were throwing glasses of water at each other, and often missed and hit us, as well as leaning back and making an uncomfortable situation. We spoke to the manager quietly and he said he was well aware of the situation and they were about to leave. They stayed longer, and we asked that our meal not be served until they left. They finally left, and we enjoyed a nice meal and good service.
We spent 500 euro on the evening, and as we left I said to the manager, typically a manager would offer his guests a bottle of wine, or dessert, or some accommodation for the poor experience. He said that they don’t do that in Ireland. I suggested he might start as I was disappointed in his response to the situation, and that I might offer this info in a review post. He said if I did I was a very nasty man, which I guess I must be, for that is what happened.
Later that evening we told this story to the manager of another bar, and he said they certainly do offer accommodations and that management had been paid and was headless to not have reacted with more professionalism, as that hurts the entire reputation of Ireland being hospitable.
Excellent meal service was so attentive and very thoroughly enjoyed our time at Delahunt.
My American family friends were coming into town. They really wanted an Irish pub grub experience. However, I knew that if we weren't careful, we'd be in tight quarters with no ability to hear each other speak. Delahunt was really the perfect fit. A classic, traditional feel, with an upscale twist.
The food was among the best I've had in Dublin. And the atmosphere lent itself well to great conversation, with zero noise issues.
The staff was really accommodating; a huge relief as we had a baby in tow. I don't think we ever went 5 minutes without staff making sure we had everything we needed.
This is clearly one of those places owned and/or run by people who love the business and love providing a great experience for others.
first time at this restaurant . Service was very attentive without being in your face. Starters and mains were fantastic and good choice of wines and other beverages. Loved the food, service and atmosphere. Will be back.
I have visited this restaurant twice in the last three weeks with different work colleagues and we love it! I will be going back for sure and the Bar upstairs for pre dinner drinks or indeed post dinner drinks is fantastic, excellent welcome and the service is superb and a great place to have a drink.
One of my best experiences in Dublin Dining for quite a while. Very small menu but wonderful food in interesting location.
Excellent, lovely food and service. One of Dublin’s best
Really great place with high quality food at reasonable price. A little noisey the night we were there.
Lovely food, great service but very noisy: so much so we had to raise our voices to make ourselves heard in a party of three. Between 7 and 9pm on Thursday 12 September.
The tasting menu was delicious, the staff was attentive and the decor was nostalgic and beautiful. We were sititng at the high table and it was still comfortable.
No English mustard available, cannot understand why, surely it is used in cooking? Waitress a little curt, otherwise enjoyed meal. Thanks
One of the best meals I have had in a long time. Excellent food and service. Will definitely come back, the next time I am in town.
The Sitting Room bar above the restaurant is well worth visiting even if you do not have a dinner reservation in the restaurant.
Beautiful place, amazing food and atmosphere. Perfect for a special dinner, also with friends, booking compulsory.
Wonderful as always. My favourite restaurant in Dublin.
We had such a wonderful time the first time, we decided to go back again. We reserved the front window table so we could see the street scene. Loved it. The pumpkin, goat cheese and papardelle entree is particularly delicious. We also enjoyed a glass of champagne in the upstairs lounge before dinner. That’s also a little hidden gem.
Had my first visit to Delahunt this week and if I had to describe it in one word, it would have to be a massive "WOW"!! Everything from start ( pre dinner drink upstairs in The Sitting Room) to finish was outstanding. The flavours, freshness, taste and presentation of all 3 courses were absolutely beautiful. Top class restaurant.....great staff but with a casual atmosphere.
Hats off to all at Delahunt!
Wine was very nice as was irish coffee however all the food supplied was poor. Starters of soup and duck. Soup passable and duck tasteless. Mains of lamb was really poor Veg selection scandalous and the absence of potatoes disappointing. A deconstructed black forest hugely uninteresting. All in all for the money spent probably the worst I have had for a considerable time. Similar to Craft Harolds Cross in concept but not half as good
Excellent meal / cocktails and service
Had our anniversary meal in Delahunt this week . Wednesday .. really nice restaurant. Good Feb and cooked to perfection . Service super and loved the complimentary sparkling ice water
Excellent food with very friendly staff. Went with my girlfriend and had a flight to catch a few hours later. All staff made sure we were served quickly despite not being the only table. Best meal we had during our 3 day visit and would strongly recommend to anyone visiting Dublin.
Food here is excellent and the service equally so. The menu has a choice between just 4 dishes. I had plenty of things I like to choose from, but on another occasion, I might have found that limiting. Portions are a little on the small side
Excellent dinner with mouthwatering food, tasted delicious, with interesting and inventive dishes. Would definitely recommend it, although a little pricey, worth it for a special occasion or simply a treat. Staff are great too!
Food was good as were portion sizes. Poor service
Yes I would recommend for the food and ambience, amazing.
I was for 7pm on opentable; at no point was I told we would have to vacate our table at 9pm, but we were presented the bill before we asked for it; and reminded more than once in that ‘there was a group waiting for the table so they really had to ask us to leave’.
This more or less ruined the evening for me; take our money and get out, was basically the attitude.
So although I would recommend the food, I would suggest you clarify how long you can sit and enjoy your drinks for after you eat.
Great food albeit limited menu choices
Traditional continental food. Simple ingredients, presented well.
Very friendly & efficient staff. Food delicious. Sat in window seat, enjoyed being there, but I didn't really get the ambiance if the restaurant.
Overall, a great experience, will be back.
Mary from Swords.
We had a really lovely evening- the staff were very warm and friendly, with a good sense of humour! Food was delicious, portion sizes just right and the atmosphere in the restaurant is great. Bit of an old world feel! Keep up the great dining experience!
Nothing memorable about this food, bad value for money and serving German Beer ??wont be back
