Delahunt – The Restaurant
Our aim is to provide the best seasonal, local produce in a relaxed and welcoming setting. Our menus are influenced by traditional and often overlooked cookery techniques, in keeping with the buildings Victorian origins. Home curing, slow cooked braises, pickles, preserves, traditional desserts and bread-making are some of our specialities. Championing small local producers is an essential part of our ethos
To add to Delahunt’s history we have built a cocktail bar on our first floor. The focal point is a striking bay window overlooking Camden Street, accompanied by vaulted ceilings, retro furniture and custom wooden paneling, original fireplaces, and a wide range of spirits and craft cocktails. The bar is walk in only.

Lovely spot, great menu, staff good fun and great atmosphere!! All round go hiontach!!!
Lovely meal as always, relaxed courteous service. Great after dinner cocktail upstairs. A little haven of Irish hospitality!
1. The food was very tasty and not expensive for the Irish standards.
2. The staff were super nice
3. The place is cosy but quite noisy
Conclusion: we did enjoy the dinner
From our pre dinner drinks upstairs and throughout our meal we couldn’t fault our evening at Delahunt.
Wonderful relaxed atmosphere with excellent attentive staff, we will be back!
Love short menus - in my opinion it indicates that all the ingredients are fresh & seasonal. Service was excellent, friendly and observant. Excellent food & value for money. Would highly recommend.
We had a very enjoyable evening at the Delahunts last Tuesday evening for our wedding anniversary. I would heartily recommend anyone to try it at least once. I would really recommend having a cocktail in the bar upstairs prior to dinner.
My favourite restaurant in Dublin. I've been multiple times over the past few years, and the quality has remained sky-high.
Nice restaurant. Short menu - selction of four starters and four main. The ladies at the table felt it was more a menu for 'men'. Food very nice though. A bit disappointed in the desserts - very, very small portions and that went for the cheese too. Easi-single sized thickness of slices - a bit mean.
Overall, very nice but might skip desserts next time. Good service and great music!
A perfect evening. The food was outstanding in this beautiful treasure of a find. The ambiance and service were equally excellent. It’s a gem. We all absolutely loved it
Delahunt is always fantastic! Outstanding and clever food combinations- friendly knowledgeable staff!
I returned to delahunt at the weekend after many a memorable meal there previously. Service and ambience were as good as always but the first time I was disappointed by the food. I had soup to start which was pleasant but felt it could have had some more seasoning. I followed this with pork which was bland in comparison to my previous visit. My parter had the steak which he felt was tough. It was still a nice meal just didn’t have the wow factor I experienced before. It was v busy so perhaps this was a factor.
Beautiful space, thoughtful food, stylish presentation, lovely staff.
Dining at Delahunt was an amazing experience. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the food was delicious. Don’t be afraid to ask your server for wine recommendations; they really know their stuff.
Will definitely be back!
We were really looking forward to our wedding anniversary dinner at Delahunt. All started well with a 5.30 pm Friday booking. After being shown to our table we proceeded to order from the specials menu. I had the chicken sausage and my wife the carrot combo. Both appetizers were lacking in taste, size and satisfaction. For mains we both had the hake which was cooked to perfection but again without any thought for flavor or accompaniments. We ordered a bottle of Italian white which was delicious and highlight of the dinner. Service was surprisingly business like and lacking in charm or charisma. Our total bill amounted to €110 (based on our experience we choose not to leave a tip) which frankly was an awful waste of money. We are not the regular crank or critic but we would find it very difficult to recommend or to go back there. For this I am truly sorry.
Beautiful setting, service was excellent and the food delicious. Every course was better than the last.
Fantastic food... great service... great value.. friendly & knowledgable staff. Highly recommend a visit.. only downside was we were dining at the late sitting so most of the ‘specials’ were gone... although every morsel here is special!
Very quaint setting, the old bar tastefully adapted into a casual restaurant with solid simple furniture and a little French lace curtain adding a chic touch of the past. Wonderful food served with a smile and a chat. Looking forward to another visit.
Enjoyable evening. Everyone enjoyed their dinner and the service was very good and friendly.
Would return again.
Getting seated in the Sitting Room before and after the excellent meal enhanced the whole experience
Satisfying on every level. Taste, place and people
The food is very good but the menu limited with no vegan and only the possibility of requesting other dishes to be vegetarian only. For Ireland the food is very good but not of an international standard. That said it has a reputation which makes it difficult to confirm a table and very difficult as nobody answers the phone 9 times out of 10 to make a reservation except on line at akeard meal times such as before 7, when you must commit to vacate the table by 8h30 or after 9 which on a weekday is late... They might want to revisit the booking policy as on the two recent occasions I managed to book on line and then confirm a more convenient time by telephone, (at least 10 attempts before getting an answer over four days), the restaurant was not completely full!... Pity as one has to be very committed to making an effort to ensure a reservation!...
Fantastic meal and great for a date night. Delahunt is very cose inside with a lovely decor. Service was friendly and not overbearing. Our starters were delicious (butternut squash soup and the smoked salmon), but the mains blew us away. The gnocchi was very creamy with just the right amount of sauce and veg, and the lamb dish was a true winner, particularly the croquette. Prices were quite fair for Dublin for the high quality of the food.
Simple menu with a choice of three starters and three mains. The lamb for the main was really delicious, one of those ones where you have the first bite and it's one of the best things you've ever tasted!
Food was really excellent , staff very attentive and friendly , we really enjoyed it.
Well presented food and a lot of great flavor in each meal. Hats off to the kitchen
We went for a family birthday. Food was excellent and staff were very friendly and helpful. Loved the layout and decor. Would definitely recommend and will be back.
My wife & I booked a table here for our wedding anniversary. As someone with a love of Irish culture & traditions I had hoped that Delahunt would tick some of those boxes on the culinary front. While the food was certainly very good (even if the portions were tiny!) & locally sourced we found Delahunt to be a restaurant of contradictions.
On the one hand you have top quality Irish food served in a listed Victorian building exuding charm right down to the jeans, t-shirt & NB runners worn by staff members. If you're going to dress well for a special occasion in a decent restaurant & pay above the odds it's a let down to be met by staff who are dressed as though they've just popped out for a loaf of bread!
Overall this restaurant seems to be suffering from an identity crisis, as though its owners feel obliged to offset its traditional decor & indigenous food with an oh so contemporary Dublin demeanour. For someone with traditional tastes like myself Delahunt ultimately failed to deliver, even if the barman does make a mighty Irish coffee! Ar an drochuair, ní bheidh muid ag dul ar ais!!
I had wanted to go to Delahunt for a long time but was left disappointed by the food. The menu was very limited and what we ordered wasn’t anything to write home about. We had the special for two, which had a €9 supplement per person. It was more expensive than I anticipated, a normal sized wine glass was c. €10. Small can of beer was €7 (a 100% mark up I would imagine). You can get better food at better value in Dublin. Ambience was good, though I couldn’t understand why I found it hard to book a table (booked this weeks in advance) the restaurant wasn’t full.
Loved this restaurant! Food was great as were the cocktails and Irish Coffee!
Excellent food but limited choice on the menu. Great atmosphere. Excellent cocktail menu. Our Waitress was unfortunately a bit abrupt and dismissive which was the only downside to the evening.
Amazing and special experience in Dublin. Food was great.
A small menu where the quality of ingredients and cooking was of the highest degree. Excellent service and value for money for the quality served up and would whole heartedly recommend this place for both taste and experience
Amazing restaurant; can't wait to return next time we are in Dublin.
The food at Delahunt was absolutely incredible! The small set menu gives the restaurant to perfect their dishes, and they did exactly that. We had the three-course menu and were blown away by the taste and flavours of the food. I'm still dreaming about the meal and can't wait to go back and try more food options. The staff was professional and kind, and the ambiance was lovely. I will be highly recommending this restaurant to friends and family.
A very nice character restaurant, convenient for where we were staying (Iveagh Gardens Hotel)
Great night had by all. No faults to note but one suggestion would be to broaden the menu by one extra dish per course.
Been twice before, for me and my partner we felt that the food was not as good as before. The staff seemed a little rude to be honest. The restaurant seems to be on a wave of being too comfortable.
I have been to delahunt several times and loved both the loacation and the food every time, it was my favourite restaurant in Dublin. I booked it again for a family meal to celebrate my fathers retirement.
I was very disappointed on this visit. While the food was fantastic as always, the service was not. Our waitress was very abrupt and we felt like we were an inconvenience to her. She was always in a rush and got frustrated if we didn’t give very snappy, quick orders etc. It would have been nice if she could have smiled and made us feel welcome there. Several people at the table commented on her attitude and unfortunately it impacted our enjoyment of the night. Also, it was very hard to get the waitresses attention to order more drinks throughout the meal which was frustrating.
Brilliant food for great value. Really loved the dessert! Will 100% be back and would recommend to friends.
Wonderful as always. I brought guests from the US here, as it is an excellent restaurant in a beautiful traditional pub setting, serving wonderful seasonal food. They loved it.
