I only gave one star because I was able to make a reservation for 6/23 at 1pm only to get there and find out the restaurant does not open till 4pm! It was supposed to be a graduation lunch- imagine our disappointment at having to then search for another restaurant that could accommodate us.

We acknowledge that it was an incredibly busy night because it was game 3 of the Knicks playoffs. However, if you are inviting people in for viewing parties then the restaurant needs to be prepared for people, especially since our reservation was made ahead of time and our waiter was barely at our table. It was beyond difficult to order drinks because he wasn't at our table, some of our food was cold and one part of a meal was delivered long after we had all finished eating.

Everything from, from food, ambiance, decor and especially the staff, highlighting our waiter Santiago. His recommendations for selections of food and drink were right on point. Would recommend El Primo to anyone.

We were pretty much ignored the entire time we were there. We had to get up from our table multiple times just to flag down staff for basic service. At one point, a waiter helped a table that was seated after us (they also had to wave him down), but then continued to check on them while repeatedly passing our table to check on the booth next to us without any acknowledgment. The music was extremely loud, but we were understanding since it was a holiday and the atmosphere was more lively. However, the lack of service really took away from the experience. At the end of the meal, we once again had to stop multiple staff members just to get our check, only to find that a 20% service fee had already been added. That was frustrating given the level of service we received. The food and the one drink we managed to get were decent, but overall, the experience left a lot to be desired.

Our waiter Santiago was excellent! He provided awesome recommendations and I thoroughly enjoyed my food and drinks. I don’t know the names of everything I ate and drank because Santiago picked them for me but the guac and chips primo style was extremely yummy. So was the plantain with goat cheese, and my Lomo Saltado entree with ribeye. I had a drink with passion fruit that was delicious and so well seasoned with alcohol that I had to slow down! Vibe was fun and energetic. Would totally go back!

This is my 2nd time here. From the moment you walk in, the cust svc is off the charts. Svc, food, drinks and ambiance all excellent. Will always make it a point to come here. Well done El Primo, keep doing what you're doing and you'll be around a long time.

I had an amazing girls luncheon at El Primo and they did not disappoint! Service was amazing, food was incredible, and best of all the ambiance and decor was picture perfect for our girls time. I would definitely recommend! Keep up the great work!
