Elephant & Castle - Temple Bar
Outside the world has greatly changed, but inside our swinging doors we try to keep things just the way they were.
Average food but central location
It’s all about the food.
One main course was forgotten and then when it did come, it was incorrect leaving one diner eating alone. No apology and very little acknowledgment. Will not return.
Great food however we did have to reach out a number of times for standard items, napkins water etc and we were a large group 11, as I said food is always great will be back
Food was beautiful but sat down at 9.10 and didn’t receive our food till 10.30.
Took the goodness off the night with waiting around
Great place for amazing burgers and good beer - perfect for a rugby weekend!
Nice atmosphere. Great Wings. Waiting a while for our table - but manager kept us up to speed with expectations. Very enjoyable.
Our dinner at Elephant & Castle was great, the wings were delicious :) We were able to book a table for 12 but when we arrived we had to squeeze on a table of 8 and the restaurant was quite noisy. Nevertheless we had a good evening and enjoyed the company and the food !
For the food we received I thought the price was very high and we were not given an itemize receipt.
Very good food and good atmosphere in the middle of Temple Bar - a lively restaurant in a lively place
Used to go there at least 3 times a month back I. The 90s with my ex and our friends. Returned this week with my adults kids and partner chickens wings were just as good as I remembered. Just wasn’t into the music. Everything else was great.
I loved the chicken wings. The spice was just purfect! We have made it a family tradition to go there every b-day and Christmas!
I had booked a seat for nine people but the table was very uncomfortable. It was in a booth in the back that had very little leg room. To facilitate the nine people an extra table was added to the fixed table. This was not the same height as the fixed table. Those inside the booth felt claustrophobic. We had to wait to be seated at our table and we received no apologizes for this. Our drinks order was not taken when we sat down and so was taken when we were ordering our food. The affogato for dessert was weird and overpriced. It was a full Americano with one scoop of ice cream. It was generally uncomfortable but we had an enjoyable evening.
+ Good food and ambience, located in the heart of the city.
- However, made a reservation for 12 folks at noon and had to wait with all my guests for an additional half hour for the table to be ready - not a pleasant experience, what's the point in making a reservation to begin with? Waiters pretty dismissive when asked about the table, again a lack of good customer service.
- Moreover, we were told only at the very end when we were about to pay that they can only accept payment from 2 cards. After some pushback we were able eventually to all pay separately - might consider telling this to large group of people from the beginning.
The whole experience was fantastic - if you haven’t had the chicken wings, I seriously recommend you do! I have now been twice whilst in Dublin & I will certainly be returning. Thanks again :-)
I organised this venue for a Christmas team dinner. It was a great night and the staff were superb. Good fun, great atmosphere. Best chicken wings in town. Never disappoints.
I love the food however the customer service is terrible. The waiters do not look happy at all
I completely understand that the restaurant is busy, but it is not reason for be rude with the customer.
I am very desapponted in my birthday night.
Absolutely gorgeous, great atmosphere and very enjoyable to eat in. food is delicious would highly recommend.
