I’ve been coming to eat here for the past 8 years and have always been impressed with the food and service. It is expensive, but if you’re looking for a place to splurge on one meal this is the spot. The food is terrific.

I will preface my review by saying that we love Elk Prime. That being said…the restaurant was overwhelmingly busy given it was the week before the New Year. Our food, once we got it, was delicious…it just took an inordinately long time to get it and we were one of the first reservations in at 5:15. Crested Butte is booming and we had a fun evening despite long wait for dinner. The hostess Allie and our waiter Josuah were gracious and Josuah was very apologetic. We will be back on a quieter week

This was quite possibly the worst dining experience we’ve ever had, & that’s saying something because we’ve eaten airport food on purpose. It genuinely pains me to leave a negative review, but I don’t want other families, especially ones paying these prices, to suffer the same fate. Our reservation was at 7:30 PM, & we were seated immediately. Honestly, that was the peak of our experience. Everything after that was downhill. About an hour in, we asked if bread was coming. The waitress (whose name I’ll omit because I’m choosing grace today) said, “Working on it.” A bold statement, considering time is linear. An hour and a half into our visit, our order was finally taken, and we asked for more bread. She brought it… & then informed us that this would be our last basket, which felt less like hospitality & more like a rationing system. 30 minutes after ordering, my daughter was informed, casually, like a fun surprise, that they were out of what she ordered. The waitress then stood there… silently… without a menu… just vibing. We eventually worked through that via telepathy, I assume. 35 minutes later, the food arrived. Cold. Not “room temperature.” Not “slightly cooled.” More like recently frozen. I tried to mention this, but was interrupted and told everything was supposed to be lukewarm. Fish? Fries? Crab cakes? Steak? Sausage? Bold culinary vision. The manager, thankfully, was kind and understanding. While she did gently defend the waitress by saying she’s “one of the strongest,” I can only assume that means emotionally, because service-wise, wow. The waitress later attempted to apologize, but it felt less like an apology and more like a TED Talk on why my perception of reality was incorrect. The manager was generous with the bill, we paid, & we have never been happier to leave a restaurant and swear a blood oath to never return. If you have money to flush & a few hours to kill, this might be the place for you. Otherwise, eat anywhere else including your car.

We had a wonderful Christmas dinner/anniversary/husbands 50th bday celebration! Kevin was our waiter and he took great care of us, service was top notch from servers to runners to the hosts. Food was delicious and the vibe was warm and festive. We highly recommend you stop in Elk Ave Prime!

A little sad that there was a preselected menu. Probably would have gone somewhere else had I known. Wanted a steak. For as much as we paid would have liked a bit more choice even in appetizer. Skipped that completely, only one person at our table did cauliflower soup. Maybe a dinner salad of some sort for those who dont like beet salad or cauliflower soup. Odd menu

Amy, So sorry you didn't enjoy our Thanksgiving menu. We tried to have all the classics from roasted turkey to prime rib, mashed potato with gravy to stuffing and cranberry sauce. We did our best to let every guest know there was a special Thanksgiving pre-fix menu, maybe next year we will need to make the pop up banner even bigger so nobody misses it when they make their reservation. Thank you for your feedback, we will take it and grow from it.

The service levels and the client appreciation of this restaurant are incomparable. The steaks are perfectly seasoned and prepared. The new tomato soup is delicious. The wine offerings are outstanding. By far, the best restaurant in the Valley.
