Estiatorio Milos – Midtown New York
Patrons can choose their fish from an abundant market display and watch it swiftly grilled in the open kitchen.
The menu is a la carte, with a popular $32 lunch prix fixe, $49 pre-theater menu, and $49 late night menu.
They charge you $62 a pound for Bronzino $480 for 3 lol need I say anymore!!!!!!
Disappointed that they did not have langoustines ...that was reason we went ..very expensive to not get what you want !
Too high end to not have what the client goes there for !
Great dining experience
Picked out "our fish" from the whole fish selection. Waited 45 minutes to be served our entre. Finally our waiter checked and we waited another 20 minutes to get it. Apparently our dinner was not prepared until the waiter reminded the chef we had not been served. We were never asked if we wanted another drink until after we got our food. I think they forgot we were there. We thought they were just very busy. Fish was priced at $62 a pound. The issue is that they apparently charge you for the whole fish - head, tail, fins, etc. Overpriced for what you get. Waiter brought us a glass of wine as an apology. The appetizer we ordered was good. Will never return. Horrible service and the value is just not there.
It’s not just a food , it’s experience!!
A really good Greek food!!!
Fantastic food and service. Fresh fish on display on ice.
The service was so fast and waiters were so eager to remove bread and get=on to next course that we felt as though we were supposed to eat fast abnd leave
Great restaurant but for a business dinner, I would prefer a table where the noise level was a bit less. The food, as always, very good
Great lunch deal
We've been there many times. One of our very favorites. Never fails to please.
One of our favorite restaurants. This time my main course order was forgotten. They did their best to rectify. Usually very professional. Delicious food.
For my tastes, the best food in NY. The octopus appetizer was great. Everything was fresh, well prepared well presented and very tasty.
Food was really excellent. We went for Restaurant Week, and the appetizers were great. We had the oysters and the octopus, and we would order both again! The Icelandic Arctic Char was also a fantastic entree; done medium, it was very tender and tasted similarly to salmon. The service was friendly, but a bit slow - it sometimes felt like they had forgotten about us. But the food more than made up for that. Would definitely go back!
Food was delicious..I loved then fresh oregano cut into the olive oil when we sat down. The service was terrific. Will be back again
Amazing fresh Mediterranean food!!!
Very good food and moderate good service for the amount of people
Excellent food and service.
Wine selection was perfect for our meal.
Nice to have authentic Greek waiters, and others, to add to the ambiance.
Truly enjoyed our lunch. From the moment we stepped in to this lovely restaurant to our good- byes, our luncheon experience was wonderful and the food was delicious
We want to know the restaurant because we love Greek food. It’s kind of pretentious, really expensive in dishes theyshouldn’t like a Greek salad. The waiter was upset because we did not order so much food or just two glasses of wine.
Everything was wonderful. The food was excellent and very fresh. The service was great and the restaurant was beautiful. We enjoyed our experience and will definitely return
Excellent...never disappoints. Perfect for both business or pleasure!
Special lunch- fabulous!
Superb restaurant week lunch menu; very inventive. It’s such a beautiful, serene space, with tables set apart. And they treated us like Royalty!
great menu, great food, great service from friendly and attentive staff
Food and service was very good. Portions were not large and a bit expensive but my salmon was great.
This was an outstanding lunch, and a good value for Restaurant week. Everything was so fresh and well prepared. I would return any time for lunch or dinner.
Despite a reservation made weeks before the date and arriving early a table didn't materialize until 15 after the scheduled time and then we were shown a table 10 feet from the entrance and on the major path for all activity. After lodging a complaint suddenly a table appeared.
So, despite wonderful food, I would not recommend a visit unless you are well known and/or offer a substantial tip to the right person.
A nice greek place with some tasty (but not outstanding) food...
The prices are ok for restaurant week
I have been to Milos many times. Service has become increasingly worse. I had the fish I’ve ordered for years. Half the fish actually. It was inedible. Just not good. Last time I go.
Best meal I’ve had. Beautifully fresh, elegant meals
Bottom line....this place is overpriced! I ate here once before for dinner; the food was good, not great. For appetizers, a bottle of wine and fish (priced by the OUNCE!!!) which you choose from their ‘raw’ bar inside the restaurant, it was over $300 per couple! For this kind of money, I can think of a lot of other places that serve up not only better food, but a more romantic atmosphere, with less noise.
I returned to the restaurant because it was restaurant week in New York; decided to give it one more go at a much more reasonable price. Just confirmed my initial reaction was correct! Too expensive for the quality!
Wonderful food -- absolutely the freshest and most flavorful fish (dorade) I have ever had, and the tenderest octopus. Delicious bread and olive oil -- even the coffee was outstanding. But the noise level at peak lunch hour was almost too much too take. Because the tables for two are generously sized (a plus usually), it made it harder to converse. Nevertheless, I would definitely return.
A well varied menu in a contemporary Mediterranean setting. But brusque service.
We were at Milos for lunch on Feb 3 to celebrate our wedding anniversary. From the time we entered we experienced the highest level of service. Our waiter (whose name I’ve forgotten) was terrific ... he answered all our questions and explained the preparations perfectly. The food was outstanding. My wife had tomato salad and fish. I had the octopus and tuna burger. Everything was perfectly prepared and delivered wonderful flavors. Our desserts were delivered with a candle ... nice touch. We think Estiatorio Milos is the finest Mediterranean restaurant we have ever experienced.
The restaurant was great but, food was sub par of what was expected at such a high end restaurant.
The food was delicious-- beautifully served and prepared. The service was great, the place was beautiful also--could not have asked for more! I am sorry I had never been there before this visit--what an omission!
Enjoyed their seafood during restaurant week! Very nice restaurant, great ambience.
had a delicious lunch before going to City Center next door. The tomatoes salad was amazing as was the chicken and the yogurt. Great deal with restaurant week!
