This place is awesome. Really authentic Ethiopian food, to the extent of no silverware! My family and I were pleasantly surprised by that and really enjoyed fully immersing ourselves in the Ethiopian style of eating. The food was excellent- beef tibs were probably our favorite portion but the fried fish and veggie sampler was also excellent.
Nice cute place with very solid Ethiopian food! Very kind staff too. Reasonably priced.
This was delicious and we truly enjoyed the food. The folks that worked at restaurant really did a phenomenal job and we appreciated the attentiveness. The food was delicious and very filling. You don’t need appetizers as the vegetarian II with fish was amazing and plenty!
Really one of the better high-end Ethiopian restaurants in DC. You have a lot of options here, and for cuisine from the horn of Africa I would recommend the Eritrean community center. But if you’re looking for a good date spot, and you live closer to H street or Capitol Hill, Ethiopic is your spot.
Always tasty food worth the parking hassle! The fish and vegetables never disappoint.
My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary with dinner. At the end, they provided a free bottle of wine 🍷
Food was AMAZING. I would definitely recommending coming here!
They didn’t seem very interested in if they had customers or not. They had all the doors locked and we had to bang to get them to open the door.
We made reservations but there was a "Closed" sign on the front door when we got there. Someone finally told us to go around the side where the owner was working inside. The food was its usual very good quality and we had a nice time dining outside in the pleasant weather.
Excelle t Ethiopian food and great atmosphere
Is it weird that it is several days later and I'm still thinking about this meal? I would highly recommend Ethiopic. The food was amazing and service was impeccable even with COVID streamlining and measures.
Everything about the experience was amazing. The outdoor seating was nice and well lit even on a cloudy night. The honey butterscotch wine was delicious and helped to keep us warm. The service was great and it was really easy to place our order online to dine in. The food was perfection! We did the veggie platter w/fried fish and the awaze tibs. It came with a basket of injera that was more than enough for two people. Can’t wait to go back for another dine in experience!
Sat on the patio and had a great experience. The service was quick and efficient. You order and pay from your phone, which was nice. Tried the sampler with fish, beef samusas and the honey wine. Everything was fresh and filling. Already looking forward to my next visit.
Great food and the service was even better. The COVID-19 precautions were excellent: no touch in app payment, online menu, limited interaction, and limited outdoor seating only. Great place. Order the “bee D’vine” wine.
Excellent wait staff who were very attentive and friendly - were willing to be flexible on menu choices.
The food was so delicious we ate so much ! The service was wonderful and it’s such a lovely space. Would definitely recommend to others !
Great food at a great price. It was relatively quiet on a Sunday afternoon.
Ethiopic is reliably good very time we go there for dinner.
This was an amazing experience. I truly enjoyed trying a brand new place and food. My girlfriend enjoyed it as well.
This restaurant was beautiful with the dim lights and candles. It was my first time eating Ethiopian food so I relied heavily on the servers suggestions. The server suggested lamb and beef tibs - we went with lamb tibs and spicy chicken instead and were glad that we did due to the sauce alone. The lamb tibs seemed flavorless in comparison to the chicken. When bringing our food, the server took his time to explain how to eat the food with our hands (this was so much fun!) The only complaint that I could make is that in all of this, there was no suggestion of adding a veggie. Our food was great, but it was all meat and bread... I feel like it was missing that pop of a vegetable.
Tried this on a whim. Good food but small portions. Miss the more traditional way of serving the food on a platter lined with injera. Great coffee!
Food is consistently good. Service is always very slow, but work the wait.
The food was delicious and the servers were helpful and attentive.
Amazing food. Huge number of plant-based options and good value for the money. I am a fan
Amazing tibs and bozena shiro! Always solid food and fairly affordable.
My favorite Ethiopian restaurant - in fact one of my favorite restaurants period.
Very great food. Love the sampler platters. The server did not seem to understand cocktails at all and that was kind of comical. Vodka cranberry was delivered with lots of vodka and splash of cranberry.. It was funny.
Excellent! Loved it!
Delicious! Best food we have had here in Washington DC!
Good food, new taste. Staff is nice and efficient.
Delicious, authentic, great service!!
We went for a New Year’s Eve dinner and it was great! Very nice, attentive staff. Delicious food. Our waitress made recommendations for what to order based on our preferences since we have only eaten Ethiopian a few times, and it was awesome.
This was my first experience with authentic Ethiopian food. The server was very courteous and the food was delicious. The restaurant was quiet and lighting was nice. A perfect way to enjoy food at a table with a friend or two.
Our waitress was an outstanding representative of Ethiopian cuisine and took the time to explain Ingira to my nephew. I am sorry I don’t have her name be she is great.
First of all, the food was absolutely delicious. Vegetarian and beef options were top notch. But the service, while pleasant, was S-L-O-W!!!!!!
As always, the food was fantastic, the service excellent.
This is a good place both for those that are new to Ethiopian food as well as regulars.
It was a wonderful place to go for authentic, and delicious, Ethiopian cuisine.
Good service. A couple of items on the menu were not available.
I would not recommend this restaurant for one primary reason. They padded the check. Very unethical.
