   Fold is our go-to venue for a special occasion and for our group of 6 people they delivered! The food, drinks, service and ambiance are brilliant; particular stand out dishes scampi, croquettes and torched salmon, the mojitos (inc virgin) are delicious and Freya is warm, welcoming, knowledgeable and the perfect front of house.    Excellent food very good quality and appreciate all the hard work that goes into producing food of this standard. We enjoyed everything can't wait to return. Service was also very good all the staff and the proprietor Sean were very welcoming. Wine list was also great.

   Came in for a Sunday roast with my husband and 2 year old. Sean was extremely welcoming and found the most practical table for us to use with a high chair. Gorgeous food, we had roast chicken and lamb, with THE most incredible side of asparagus, they even made Mabel a little pasta dish, which she polished off. Very enjoyable experience, even with a toddler!

   Food and service were outstanding which set the evening off really well. However, once the restaurant became busy we were boxed in to a table for two against a wall. My husband had no alternative but to budge past another couples table next to us in order to get out. The restaurant has too many tables in a small space. Sadly this was something that put a dampener on what would have been a lovely time.

   Really fantastic food, all excellent and portions just about right. It is expensive though and we spent more than we would usually on a meal out. However came away having enjoyed really beautiful tastes. The ambiance was noisy at first but got a bit quieter as it got later. Would like more variety of non alcoholic drinks, the ones which they did have were not even listed on the drinks menu for some reason. There are some really ugly paintings on the wall and so the decor generally could be a bit more sophisticated. Helpful and patient staff generally good service. Would return for a special occasion

   Best Sunday Roast by far!! Proper Roast potatoes not deep fried like so many places seem to do. Lovely friendly staff. Beautiful restaurant We had Roast beef ( served pink ) and the Lamb both cooked perfectly great veg. Loved that you can see the kitchen and know everything is fresh. We will be back !!!!

    The food was great! I was super excited to visit fold after I saw some reviews. The staff were friendly and helpful and the ambience was cute retro. Defiantly recommend for a fancier meal. I would recommend not coming with a large group as it can get a little hectic with all the dishes & they dishes are abit to small to share with larger groups. Upto 4 is the perfect ratio.

    Delicious food, but slightly strange service. This was our first visit to Fold and we had the 4-course weekday lunch menu. The food was really lovely and just the right amount to fill up on without feeling stuffed. The service was a bit weird - unenthusiastic and not particularly welcoming - and my second and third courses both arrived together. I'd nearly finished them (they were hot so I didn't wait long!) before my partner even got his second course. I'd expect that with a tapas-style meal where things just come when they're ready, but not with a 4-course menu. There was a long wait before dessert but the chef had a quick chat with us and brought the dessert himself. He was very friendly and clearly passionate about his food, so made a great impression compared with the rest of the service. We would definitely go back and recommend for the food, but Fold needs to look at it's front-of-house approach and bring it up a notch to match the quality of the food (and the prices!).

    Exquisite with fantastic presentation of each dish Creative Flavours and were exact to description and amazing twist to each dish Cannot recommend this place enough as it is fabulous and will definitely return to see more of what they have to offer. Location of Fold Bistro is quaint and located centrally in Marple Bridge. Decor is clean and simple but with a calm ambience - however wooden floors does make the it noisier as restaurant was near full

    Went on a weekday afternoon and had the set menu. £34 for 4 courses of exquisite food and a glass of wine is simply amazing value. The lamb hotpot and the sea bass were standout courses and must-trys for anyone who goes. I will definitely be going back and will recommend Fold to anyone.

    Food was incredible. The flavours, the quality. Had a beautiful Sauvignon Blanc from South Africa to go with. Service was great. Freya talked through each dish and was really attentive. We will be returning!

    We loved our first dining experience at Fold! Service was professional and friendly, attentive and not intrusive, dishes described with confidence and in detail. We shared a variety of plates between 3 people and all had individual favourites (and nothing we’d not have again). Each plate was truly unique with texture, taste and care given to appearance but not ‘faffy’. Definitely one for a treat, we’ll be back next month!

    Fold has so much going for it - carefully thought out dishes that are well presented and overall taste very good. The wine list is extensive and considered and the cocktails ( 3 of which I sampled ) were excellent. Our server ( Georgia, I think she was called ) was terrific - attentive, informed and switched on. Our other server, not so much. They had to be asked to clear our plates more than once and to wipe down our table - not great when paying high end prices. What also wasn’t great was the seating arrangements. Too many small tables down the back wall, 7 or so crammed in leaving you practically touching elbows with your neighbour, this is not conducive to relaxed conversation as you can practically hear each other breathing. I strongly suggest the owners remove at least 3 of these tables to space them out a bit. I doubt very much that they’ve sat there themselves and eaten elbow to elbow with other diners. I’d like to think if they had, they would have resolved this issue immediately as the level of care in other areas is apparent. Unfortunately though, when charging ‘fine dining’ prices, every element of the experience has to be right and at the moment Fold is just falling short, which is a real shame as this could be a true gem of a place.
