Forage is a farm to table neighborhood bistro in Cambridge right off of Harvard Square. Through partnerships with local farmers, fishermen, and foragers, ​we offer a local, seasonal menu served in a casual setting.

    Forage is the most innovative and interesting restaurant in Cambridge. The staff is friendly and they love to “nerd-out” about food. It is everything a restaurant should be.

    I have requested outdoor seating and they rejected it because apparently there is no outside seating after 7:30 pm. There was no indication of that when i made the reservation. So we ended up sitting in a crammed place receiving dull service. Food was mediocre. I had indicated that we were there for a celebration and there was no acknowledgement on that. Overall we had a poor experience.

    We have had many pleasant meals at Forage. However, this past visit I found the service was not up to the usual standards. Overall, my guests enjoyed their tasting selections from Omnivore to Vegan.

    Great flavor, but food was way too salty. This is my third visit, and it’s been too salty every time. Forage is really great (for a restaurant), but I typically cook better at home and use higher quality ingredients (like grass-fed beef).

    Lovely place. We had been here way back when it was Craigie St. Bistro before their move to Main St. The folks we all so friendly, service excellent and the food was some of the best we have had in a long time.

    Spectacular service, great presentation. The food and drink are on the expensive end, but it feels worth it based on the quality of the food and its ingredients. My only complaint is that the potatoes were underdone, which I suspect was intentional but isn't my preference.

    Our first time at this restaurant and it was excellent, from service to food to ambiance. We were lucky as we were out on the patio and the weather was ideal but I think we would have enjoyed our evening even if we were seated inside.

    Was excited that they had vegetarian options on the menu. Appetizers were quite good, but entrees were odd. Steak was served at barely warm temperature, hot mushrooms were served with warm rice and very cold beans. We asked to have the entrees warmed up and they came back marginally warmer. Parking was a pain. We won't be returning anytime soon. Service was VERY courteous! They tried. Kitchen and bathroom not very clean.

    Had vegetarian tasting menu with wine flight. Delicious plates with well prepared and presented seasonal options - familiar (asparagus), scare (fiddleheads) and new (knot weed, nettles). Locally sourced cheeses were exquisite. Wines were delicious complements, unusual varieties, available and accessible staff and each wine had a unique depth and profile to enjoy. Made the celebration evening memorable and I have a plan to return with many friends.

    Great place for a celebratory dinner! Food was great. My wife had the lion's mane mushrooms as her main, and she said, "I could eat this again *tomorrow*" and she is one who likes variety! My skirt steak was excellent. Our server made us feel right-at-home; she was attentive without it coming off as oppressive. Her recommendation of orange wine was spot-on. Excellent night all around!

    Highlight of the meal was a great wine recommendation by our server. Albacore app, ribeye, and chocolate dessert were our favorite dishes. Solid value, food and service both impressive. Would dine here again!

    Had the best time here with my friend for her birthday dinner. Such a fun and quirky spot with details everywhere that you get close fully lost in. Everyone was so nice and made us feel like the only people in the space even though it was a full house. Great gluten free options! Definitely coming back here. The food was mesmerizing and loved the non-alcoholic drinks! A must try spot.

    Had a fantastic time, got the tasting menu, all the courses were tasty and well timed. Sat at the bar, Bartender was hugely knowledgeable of all the dishes and made us feel welcome. The cocktails were delicious and interesting, one even featured a pickled oyster alongside a providence based vodka!

    Forage has such an interesting menu. Our dishes included ingredients like Forsythia and nettles…who knew you could eat those? And yet even the less adventurous eaters among us enjoyed our meals, which were designed to feature seasonal crops. It felt like a really special outing to an intimate and quintessentially Cambridge spot, a bit off the beaten path on Craigie St.
