There were gnats everywhere!! Could not enjoy our meal for swatting them away. The waitress didn’t seem to care about the gnats after we pointed them out. Definitely not a good experience, will not go back.

We booked this to meet up with our friends from the US who were trying to find their way to the restaurant. The experience started great, but when it was coming up to an hour later and we haven’t ordered for the total heads in the table … how much more longer before the other party arrived… and we were told it was a “busy” night. Personally I felt rushed and more like if we’re not going to get 5 heads then we might lose our table… I think the food is great, the seating not much so, it was clearly cramped for our friend and there was no hint whatsoever to offer an alternative seating. It was a great experience at the start but for the amount we spent I felt like we would have gotten a better service elsewhere.

Delicious food with exceptional service. Our waiter Mike was super personable and up for a chat - gave great advice, too. Food is pumped out quickly and standard is high considering how popular and busy this place is!

We had planned coming here a long time when we first decided to visit Ireland and had a wonderful time .Boxty is a traditional Irish dish and they do it so well here. As the waiter told the couple next to us, get boxty here, fish and chips you can get anywhere. So true. Wonderful cheeses and breads as starters and desserts looked great but we were too full to order. A must stop in Dublin

Portions were slightly small for the price but food was delicious .service was a bit rushed .got the bill as soon as we finished eating which arrived quickly .in and out in half an hour .

Our fav restaurant in the Temple Bar District! A great menu selection, nice vibe, friendly and knowledgeable staff, cool location close to HaPenny Bridge and Merchant’s Arch. Highly recommended!!

Food was delicious, service was quick. Drinks were about $15 each but tasted good. Not super cheap but was a good dinner. The lamb Boxty and the creamed beef Boxty were delicious

All nine of us had a fabulous time at Gallagher’s Boxty House! The food, service, ambience — all marvelous. We sat downstairs with several other large parties and yes, it was loud. But so were we! Therefore my only request would be a bit of sound baffling. Even without it, next time I’m in Ireland, I’ll be back at Gallagher’s!

This was my top choice for my 40th birthday dinner, on our first day in Dublin, and it didn't disappoint! The fries were crisp, the Gaelic boxty was everything everyone said it was and the bread/butter pudding with a candle for my birthday was the literal best. Highly recommend!

Very strange experience. Potato cake appetizer was super dry. And the dessert was either microwaved or over-baked. Server was confused why we weren't happy. No one even tried to come over for feedback on why we weren't happy. I was really looking forward to this restaurant after seeing it featured on "Somebody Feed Phil."

Arrived on time for our reservation. The four of us were seated in a basement room of two tables. This room was separate from the basement dining room. We waited 10 minutes and no server came presumably as we felt "out of sight out of mind". We went upstairs and requested to request a better table and service. The staff reluctantly agreed to move us and afterward our service was slow and server was cold and unfriendly but not outright rude. The food was disappointing; our four different main courses ranging from bad to mediocre, however the espresso martini was great. We would not recommend this restaurant.

We reserved the early bird experience for 1800. Arrived at 1755 and seated right away. Waitress did not show up until 1810 to take our order. According to the menu, the early bid discount ends at 1800... same time as our reservation. This was either poor planning between the restaurant and Open Table, terrible service from the wait staff, or a deliberate attempt at avoiding giving us the early bird rate. The boxty's and bread nibbles were tasty, but the whole visit was diminished by our waitress. She was terrible our entire time dining. She was even slow bringing us the bill and then returning to cash us out.
