   Great food but not enough time in between courses to enjoy. The starter was very filling and no sooner had we finished the main was served, shame to waste such lovely food, but a rest between serving each course would be much better. Lovely food and setting otherwise.

   Very tasty meal in a beautiful hotel restaurant overlooking eyre square. I had the steak frites which was very good though I suspect the chips may not have been homemade. The mushroom and fried onion garnish, on the other hand, were delicious and done perfectly. The duck salad I started with was alright though the duck could have been less chewy. Vegetables were delicious and the perfect amount of oil and vinegar were used to dress. My husband had the beef which he absolutely enjoyed. It was tender and came with lovely vegetables and mash. Our service was good and we were never lacking in anything. I was a bit surprised that we were never served bread but other than that the service was familiar, friendly and thoughtful. The desserts were fabulous. The ice cream, fresh but not too sweet and the assortment of pastries exceptional. Lovely meal included in our hotel package and worth every penny.

   Our group of five had a very good meal including starters and main courses in the Gaslight Brasserie. The stand-out starter was the duck-salad and all of the main courses were very good with high praise for the prawn pasta, the venison dish and the fish and chips. The service was excellent and the staff were so helpful and pleasant. We all agreed to make a return visit very soon.

    A la carte menu was varied to suit all tastes The dishes were full of flavour and cooked exactly as requested The only (minor) downside was that the soft minerals were 'flat' Even though not cheap, we would consider that the meal was value for money Staff are excellent Location and atmosphere were excellent

    Very impressed with Braised Daube of Beef. Very tender and well presented. Loved the Australian Shiraz. Three different restaurant staff were at our table at different points and we were very impressed with their professionalism and cheerful courtesy. Well done to all 👏

    We were exceptionally surprised by the level of service and quality of the food. The decor is very much relaxing. You would be quite happy to be here on your own and not feel as if you are out of place.

    We were one of very few diners for a brunch lunch on Christmas Eve day but the atmosphere was festive warm and welcoming. We had the beetroot starter and chicken wings both good. Then the beef which was delicious and prawns with marinated salmon also good. A perfect brunch choice.

    So disappointing. The menu did not match the menu online, nor did it match the menu on display outside the front door so the dishes we wanted to order were not available to us. The second disappointment was the fact that we were the only diners in the restaurant. When I booked on the website the only vacancies available to us were, I think, 5.15, 6.30, 8.30 and 8.45. Yet when we arrive there was nobody dining. It was like a morgue.

    We were on a package with the hotel and dinner was included otherwise there is absolutely no way I would have paid €50 each for a very tasteless inadequate meal. My supposedly crispy duck starter was neither crispy or tasty and we both had turkey and ham which was utterly disappointing. Meat slices too thick, tiny bit of mash and 4 brussel sprouts. Dessert only just saved the meal, crumble was nice.

    Beautiful place and good quality food. The only complaint I have is that the portions where tiny and my family were hungry after paying 20 euros per main dish. The waitress also took some of our plates away before everyone was finished which is unsettling. They should wait until everyone is finished.

    I understand it was peak time and a busy Sunday, but service was very slow, had to ask a few times for sauces, water, no toast. Simple things. Food quality was OK, but for a good hotel standard was disappointing.

    The biggest issue was with the service. We had to ask several times for the same things. The service was incredibly slow. I waited so long for a coffee after our meal, I ended up cancelling it. They hadn’t even started making it at that stage.

    Such a gorgeous setting in the heart of Galway overlooking Eyre Square, the staff are always attentive even when the venue is busy, food was delicious. The Hardiman is so festive at Christmas time, a real treat!

    As usual, the Hardiman did not disappoint! Between aperitifs in the Oyster Bar served by chatty and humorous staff to the delicious lunch in Gaslight Brasserie! The group lunch was superb and since it was a graduation celebration, the welcome glass of Prosecco for the graduate was a lovely gesture!! A small point and only because the person himself is an avid fan, but the pint of Guinness could have been better ….no froth on the inside of glass for one!! Knowing the Hardiman, they will take this on board as constructive criticism and aim for perfection!😋
