    Parents along with the little ones are invited to join us at The Hardiman from 1pm to 4pm for our Santa Lunch experience with Santa! Why not come along for Lunch at The Hardiman, and then visit Santa in his little grotto, word is he is giving really special little girls and boys a Selection box! Santa will be at The Hardiman during Saturday's and Sunday's in December, visit is available after lunch booking is made. Lunch available is a two course lunch menu for €34 per person or a 3 course menu for €42 See children's sample menu here Dates available Saturday 2nd 3rd Sunday Saturday 9th Sunday 10th Saturday 16th Sunday 17th, please note last day for booking is Saturday 23rd December.

    Overpriced, mashed garden peas with chips and fish is not nice, waited 40 mins for dinner so very hungry when it arrived, waitress didn't give me my change back from bill, didn't get the things I requested when I booked the table, disappointment overall

    There was a misprint on the menu regarding the type of steak. The steak was tough. We were told by one waiter we were getting garlic potato, but got very salty chips. When we queried we were told there never was garlic potato on the menu. We left the restaurant hungry.

    We booked a table to celebrate our wedding anniversary, unaware at the time that we’d be in Galway during a very busy time (midterm, Macnas parade,rugby, Comedy Festival). At first, I thought our special evening would be ruined by the screaming child (screaming) in the restaurant. Little ones cry, of course, but the parents were oblivious to the fact that it was disruptive. We were told that the party (a large party) would be leaving soon, and they did depart within 15 minutes. The food was great, the service was good, considering they really were slammed with customers. But there were delays with our orders. The manager recognized this, and to her great credit, she made a significant adjustment to our bill. Kudos to her for such generosity during a very stressful evening. The only complaint I have is that the music was too loud and inappropriate for fine dining. Instead of classic rock, light jazz or old standards (like Sinatra) might have worked better. In the end, we had a wonderful anniversary dinner.

    What was once a peerless institution of Galway is now a shadow of its former self. A Sunday afternoon and was told the gaslight was closed due to small booking numbers. What happened to serving Sunday lunch or afternoon tea with the piano playing. Clearly new management have taken more than their eye off the ball.

    We had the breakfast that comes with the overnight stay at the hotel. Food - delicious, fresh, plentiful. Granola/oatmeal/fruit/yogurt + selection of eggs/sausages/bacon, etc. Can have made to order. Staff - best I have ever seen. quietly efficient, any staff can assist at any table, in the background but available quickly Room - bright, clean and quiet. Overall very very good.

    The menu described “crispy chicken skin” on the gem salad but they were soggy and hardly a compliment to the lettuce. The server had to go back to the kitchen to find out what the day’s fish was, inspiring little confidence in her abilities. The Hake dish was bland. For such a nice hotel, the dinner was a disappointment. Oh, and the choice of music was miserable.

    Some evening specials enhanced the menu choices. I went for monk fish in a rather Spanish chorizo-tomato-potato sauce. Very good. Great wine selection.

    Over all, a good experience. Maybe a little overpriced but good ambiance. Service was excellent. Couldn't get oysters cooked and forgot some of my order, but did recognize our special celebration.

    Grazie a opentable abbiamo prenotato al volo questo ristorante in un sabato di agosto in cui Galway era super affollata e tutti i ristoranti erano strapieni. Ci siamo ritrovati in questo luogo raffinato e tranquillo all'interno di un hotel nel centri di Galway. Cibo ottimo, servizio cortese e rapido, discreto rapporto qualità prezzo tenuto conto dei prezzi cari di Galway. Da consigliare.

    The food here is really great, and they have a good kids menu if you are traveling with the family. It’s a beautiful restaurant with attentive staffs, and is away from the noise and crush of the Latin Quarter which is a nice respite! It’s def high end prices but the food meets the expectations.

    Booked here based on reviews I read online. We traveled to Galway to celebrate my daughter’s 21st bday and I wanted the night to be lovely. It wasn’t. I’m sure every establishment has an off night and I never post reviews but it was a terrible experience. The dinner started off great although I was a little concerned we were the only ones dining. Leo was terrific, took our drinks, made my daughter something special and we settled in to review the menu. We overheard him telling another staff member that he was stepping out for a bit. For the next 40-45 minutes, not a single person checked in with us despite being the only group in the dining room. Drinks went unfilled, no sign of dinner and we were pretty much ignored. When we finally got our meal just after an hour after we sat down and it was dry, way over cooked and extremely salty. Again no one checked in with us despite untouched plates and empty drinks. The original waiter finally returned and tried to make it right but at that point what could he do? He was terrific tho and brought some dessert for my daughter and ensured we weren’t charged for the meals. The other staff couldn’t have given a …. if we were taken care of or not. Just an overall disappointing experience and I would dine just about any where else but here.

    Great food but not enough time in between courses to enjoy. The starter was very filling and no sooner had we finished the main was served, shame to waste such lovely food, but a rest between serving each course would be much better. Lovely food and setting otherwise.

    Very tasty meal in a beautiful hotel restaurant overlooking eyre square. I had the steak frites which was very good though I suspect the chips may not have been homemade. The mushroom and fried onion garnish, on the other hand, were delicious and done perfectly. The duck salad I started with was alright though the duck could have been less chewy. Vegetables were delicious and the perfect amount of oil and vinegar were used to dress. My husband had the beef which he absolutely enjoyed. It was tender and came with lovely vegetables and mash. Our service was good and we were never lacking in anything. I was a bit surprised that we were never served bread but other than that the service was familiar, friendly and thoughtful. The desserts were fabulous. The ice cream, fresh but not too sweet and the assortment of pastries exceptional. Lovely meal included in our hotel package and worth every penny.

    Our group of five had a very good meal including starters and main courses in the Gaslight Brasserie. The stand-out starter was the duck-salad and all of the main courses were very good with high praise for the prawn pasta, the venison dish and the fish and chips. The service was excellent and the staff were so helpful and pleasant. We all agreed to make a return visit very soon.

    A la carte menu was varied to suit all tastes The dishes were full of flavour and cooked exactly as requested The only (minor) downside was that the soft minerals were 'flat' Even though not cheap, we would consider that the meal was value for money Staff are excellent Location and atmosphere were excellent
