   Our food arrived very soon after we ordered even before our coffees. My friend asked her for eggs to be well done, they were runny! Service was fine, food is ok.

   The restaurant iteself was very comfortable and I liked the decor. Staff were attentive, pleasant and professional. Dined recently and opted for the early bird.3 options for each course.Got the Calimari and Burger. Calamari crumb was excellent. For some reason, maybe because the squid seemed a bit stringy, I thought the dish was overall just ok. The burger was just ok also. I didn't think it was the best quality to be honest.The brioche was tasty, but the filling didn't do it for me. Onion in batter would be better replaced by plain fried onion in my opinion. Keep it simple. The pancetta...would be best left out also . I tasted a bit of the profiterole dessert which was substantial and seemed fine. The wine was good and the 10% off when ordering the Early Bird was a very nice touch. Perhaps the à la carte menu is more interesting.

   We booked an early dinner/ late lunch for Mother’s Day.it was clear when we arrived that the restaurant was extremely full and staff were under pressure. We understandably needed to wait for our seats. We were seated and our orders were taken quickly. Staff were pleasant. We ordered Louisiana spicy chicken wings to share. We needed to ask for more sauce and there didn’t seem to be any sauce: when it arrived it was very mild and lacking in any real flavour. The mains arrived. My mother had the burger which she enjoyed, my husband, the lamb shank which he needed to season and said he would not order again. I ordered the mushroom linguine which was cold. I asked for it to be heated and for more Parmesan and another drink and water for the table. By this time the restaurant had emptied out and staff were setting up for dinner service. My pasta was left under the hot lights and nobody ever arrived back with drinks, food or Parmesan or water. I tried to catch the eye of staff with no luck. When everybody else had nearly finished their food I eventually decided to collect the food myself. Nobody seemed to notice. Shortly after someone came and we were able to order our drinks etc. It was a particularly busy day for staff, but it wasn’t until the restaurant had emptied that we were left waiting for service. The food was only ok apart from the burger and children’s pasta. Overall a disappointing experience.

   Food was really excellent. The staff were friendly, professional, helpful. One small thing was it was a bit chilly as there was a freezer door open somewhere. Sorted after a while. Highly recommended d this restaurant

    Bad experience unfortunately. This place was great few years back. The manager left us waiting at the door for too long. She saw us but just continued doing what she was doing, did not even acknowledge us. Next issue was she told us the kitchen was closing at 8(my friend was running late by 15 mins) so we had not enough time to order a starter, when she saw my reaction she changed her mind. Then to my amazement they started cleaning up and making noise around us. It was very obvious then wanted us out asap so they could close up and go home. The food was not great.

    We had passed it by a few times and were pleasantly surprised when we ventured in. A nicely presented and busy restaurant which belies its exterior appearance. A good lunch menu with small and full course options. and the glass of Italian wine was very pleasant.. WE WILL RETURN..

    Food was mediocre, chicken burger was over cooked and dry, beef burger was rubbery with little to no flavor. Pancakes however were delicious. Gourmet food parlour was always one of my favorite places, however after yesterday I won’t be back there are a lot nicer places for better value!

    Host was lovely checking us to our table, wait staff were not great. Asked for more sauce to be dropped to the table and request was ignored then staff seemed to avoid our table.

    While the food was lovely as always, the service was awful. We were left waiting for over 20 mins before someone took our order. One of our drinks was forgotten and there was confusion from the staff as to whether or not our starter had arrived-which it had! We have been to GFP many times and like it there but the service really needs to improve. I found the bill very expensive too. Not good value at all.

    Having ordered a drink on arrival we waited ten minutes and it didn't come. We asked again and were given the wrong order. It was replaced without quibble. The food was good but our server was dour and unsmiling. A second drink order - a glass of wine - was served promptly but when our bill came we were being charged for a bottle of wine instead of a glass. We have often eaten here and previous times the service was better than last night. It felt as if the staff couldn't care less whether we were served or not. Will give it a miss for a while.

    The service was so slow. We waited 20 minutes and called multiple waiters before we were served. Waited a long time to be served. Had to ask about 3 times for most things, such as water or coffee. No cups brought with water. Tables were far too close and we couldn't move. Food was mediocre.

    Although we had a booking for gourmet food parlour for 4 we were left waiting for at least 6 minutes at the entrance to be seated, we did see seats available but when we asked could we sit there we were told no, when we were seated and had our food in front of us the same manager asked if we were finished, clearly we were not our plates had still got food to be eaten.We weren’t delighted with the service as one in our group was new to gourmet parlour so was disappointed with the service this time.

    Delightful and never disappoints Short menu offers good variety of novel dishes of excellent quality. Great value and served with a smile in a relaxed low key atmosphere. Have been going here for years with three generations of my family and remains universally popular and our local favourite.

    I rated the food 3 stars only.. we had a set menu, my son and I enjoyed the starters, he ordered rib eye for the mains but it was not available, sirloin was the alternative and while it is written HAKE in the menu, I ordered it, as well for my mains but again it was not available, instead it was substituted with SALMON. My son enjoyed his steak but I did not really liked and enjoyed the salmon because it was tasteless and the sides were greasy. Though the service and ambience is excellent..

    I ordered a cappuccino with almond milk and I was surprised when I got the bill that I was charged and extra 60 cent because it was almond milk. Haven't experienced that in any other restaurants lately
