Located in the heart of Gramercy in the restored Assembly Hall of the landmarked United Charities Building, Hawksmoor is a steak restaurant that celebrates all-natural, pasture-reared, and traditionally dry-aged beef. Our beef is seasoned simply with sea salt and cooked over live-fire charcoal. Our seafood is locally and sustainably sourced from northeastern waters and we use small-farm produce whenever possible. On Sunday afternoons Hawksmoor keeps with the tried-and-true British tradition and features a Sunday Roast.

Completing our offerings are award-winning cocktails, including New York City's coldest martini, and a carefully curated wine selection. The restaurant houses 150 in the dining room and 35 in the bar area. There are also two private dining rooms that can hold 12 people and serve exclusive, family-style menus.

Fantastic food is a cool/trendy atmosphere. Our waiter Evan steered us in the right direction menu wise and was one of the best servers I have experienced in a while. Desserts were phenomenal!

We had an absolute wonderful time celebrating our daughter’s 21st birthday. Our server Evan was great and engaging. Not only did he provide amazing food recommendations but also treated us as if we were his only table. Thank you for the amazing time.

Never thought I would find myself writing such a poor review for a restaurant I have visited many times in London. On this visit to NY it was sadly a car crash from the beginning. Arrived early, promised multiple times we could/would be seated straight away, yet it took 90mins for us to be shown to a table - nearly 30 mins after our time. We were seated by air vents which pumped freezing cold air out, the lady next to me even took to wearing a coat whilst eating. Despite pleading with staff, I resorted to wearing a beanie hat as the cold air just kept coming. Numerous steaks were not available, despite being listed on chalk boards across the dining room. Starter arrived wrong and one of the mains never arrived, having been sent to the kitchen incorrectly. The one main that did arrive was overcooked and very salty. I have to stress, this is not the experience we are used to, but for such avid fans of Hawksmoor, we were thoroughly disappointed and annoyed at the experience we recieved. Would I recommend Hawksmoor, yes. Would I recommend this branch… no. Too many issues and failings. In a city where choice is plentiful, at these prices they need to up their game considerably if they want to play in the big league.

We came here as a special treat during our nyc trip from the UK. Our evening was amazing and the bartender (from Plymouth) was very attentive and chatty. I felt compelled to leave this review after we waited an hour and ten minutes for just one course of food. The meal itself was amazing, and after speaking to the floor manager (who was actually amazing at appeasing our dissatisfaction with our wait time) we went away happy we had visited. Thank you so much to our lovely waiter ( with the curly hair and cheeky winks) and also the floor manager. You turned our night around at the end.

Although the service was attentive the food didn't warrant the price tag. All 4 of us had the Sunday Roast, which if it wasn't for gravy (which was unreal), would have been underwhelming. The potatoes were under seasoned and lacked flavor and the vegetables were just OK. The beef was well cooked coming out pink, but the cuts were very inconsistent between the four of us. There was a premium price paid for average food saved by the gravy.

Great food, great service. It’s a loud dining room, but that can’t be helped. My one suggestion is for them to have one or two half bottles of wine, red and white, available for sale. The price point for 5 oz pours is too high.

Experience very disappointing We had Sunday roast meat veg and potatoes no taste whatsoever so ever The feeling and look of the Restaraunt is so unenglish that it is shameful The look of the staff is also shameful everyone dressed in their own clothes Not professional All in all very mediocre completely different than their projected image Hawksmoor could have been a nice Addison to New York Instead they chose to join the mediocrity

Finally got around to trying the burger, which was delicious! Decently sized as well, paired with the beef fat fries and their amazing flavor and crispyness. Finished off with the Praline Irish Coffee.

Very very noisy. Wouldn’t return simply as so loud and couldnt hear each other. Food was good, took awhile to get mains. Steaks very good, creamed spinach too herby as other reviewers mentioned.

Just a fabulous evening with our server Adam and the Hawksmoor team. No request was too much, and the steak was as good as ever. Wish they could find a way to bring the chips over from the UK, but otherwise faultless.

Our server was very helpful in guiding our course selection. The wine was great as so was the desert. As per server's suggestion, the four of us shared the four individual steaks on the menu which were full of flavor and cooked to perfection. Don't miss the sourdough bread, AMAZING!

Our initial greeting was lovely, I was addressed by my name and it was so refreshing and we were seated in the main dining room. My cocktail was phenomenal, I can’t say enough. I wanted a third and a fourth. We had the scotch bonnet oysters that were TDF. We were even raving about the Caesar salad. I ordered the lobster roll and the hubby had the steak frite. Our plates were cleaned off. I’m saving my $$$ for a beautiful dinner.

Having been here before more than once I’m still impressed. Great service, great food. Not only the steaks, which are awesome, but also the sides deliver. And the deserts alone are reason enough to come back again. We had another enjoyable evening.

Hawksmoor was lovely. What a beautiful space! My partner and I were treated so well by everyone, but our server Rob went above and beyond. He was so gracious and hospitable, and the restaurant is lucky to have him. I was really surprised to see how good the value was, and the wine list was smartly curated without being unattainably expensive. Everything we ate was extremely well-prepared to boot.

Everything was fantastic. Only ding is that our server wasn’t very warm or explanatory, and they ran out of potatoes. Who runs out of potatoes at a steakhouse? Send someone to the supermarket!

Service was outstanding: attentive but not obtrusive. Impressed by the attention shown to address my friend’s allergies. We bought a special bottle of wine and the Somm took great care, in presenting it. Thank you.

Friendly greeting. Ridiculously small martini (2 oz pour is not okay) at bar. Nice main dining room however, too many hoodies and ripped jeans to count (so NOT ok in Hawksmoor London!) First “Sommelier” visited us although we sighted her qualifications. We asked for 2 bottles that were on the menu at under $100 price point each. We were told they were out, and she then offered us a 600 bottle option (no thanks). Second Sommelier was lovely and “miraculously” found one of the original affordable bottles we asked for. Waitstaff and steaks were very good however, the mood was dampened by the Uber casual hoodies and atmosphere. Having been to Hawksmoor in London, this is a poor stepchild to the Flagship
