   I would highly recommend the Herbert's Restaurant. The food and service were top class. The only thing I would change is the decor but that's a matter of everyone's personal taste.

   Eating more plant based food to ease the pressure on the planet’s resources and in particular, reduce animal slurry from farm run-off polluting Ireland’s glorious rivers should be a priority these days so it was disappointing to see such basic recipes for non flesh options, even if beautifully cooked. Nonetheless, the chef is excellent and, for our second meal, chef created a new and delicious veggie option, which we very much appreciated. The veggie starter and inter-course delicacies were exquisite too so I would highly recommend a visit to this restaurant for chef’s talented light touch, great flavours and inventive combinations of texture and taste. The wine list is great too and the staff couldn’t be more helpful and friendly.

   We met some lovely staff at the Cahernane House who looked after us on Easter Sunday. Food was delicious with a good menu for adults and children. Wine was Devine! Setting is absolutely beautiful. only downside was the beside had children with phones on full volume which did spoil the experience a little. This is not the fault of the hotel but it would have been appreciated if they were asked to turn down the volume. We have v young children too and totally understand the need for phones at times but not at the expense of the other diners. It may also be worth giving the children crayons to colour the pretty picture on the menu. Easter bunny was a lovely touch.

   I would highly recommend Herberts. The room itself is beautiful with fantastic views. Amazing food, such high quality. Treat yourself, you will love it.
