Always fresh and well portioned meals. Sushi isn't served with the traditional fresh wasabi or ginger but is still very delicious. Fairly good selection of sake as well.

Absolutely fabulous food as always made better by having Unagi (Grilled Eel) on the menu. Perfectly cooked and so delicious. Also love the fatty tuna on the daily specials.

Lovely night out, the food was delicious, especially the sashimi. Knowledgeable but unobtrusive service. Agree with other reviews - parking is a pain and the kitchen closes fairly early given our reservation was for 8.15pm Will definitely be back.

Attentive staff, great food a bit different to most Japanese I've had locally, cafe/street dining ambience the only downside really is the lack of any nearby off street parking, fine if you're local or in an UBER but can imagine it would be difficult on a Friday or Saturday night. Would absolutely go again though.

The food at Hikari was delicious! We loved everything we ordered. The JFC (fried chicken) & soft shell crab bao were standout dishes. Service was excellent too. Will definitely be back!

Food is so good - Fresh fish and actually has real sushi with raw fish unlike many places in Australia. We had an 8 PM reservation and felt a bit pressured to order right away because the kitchen was closing.

Dissappointed that Hikari would not split payment of the bill for 2 couples,told they have changed their policy Embarrassing that one person had to pay with no prior advanced warning . We have dined there with friends often and have always been able to split the bill.Doubt that we will return with a group due to this policy change. Pity .as the food ids very good. Johnno New Farm

I love Hikari!! Food is delicious and well priced. Menu has a great range of options depending on what you feel like. Service is great - staff are so friendly. Great restaurant fit out, with indoor and outdoor seating. Would highly recommend!

Consistently my favourite restaurant and my top pick for Japanese eats. Staff are amazing and the food is always fresh and incredibly tasty. Eggplant is a outstanding and kingfish is to die for. Truffle baos are unique and I can never stop at one. Get two serves of these because they are amazing! And then there’s the sake ….😊
