Hobson's Fish and Chips Restaurant
We only serve the traditional British chip specifically selected for its taste and texture that we peel and cut ourselves.
We prepare and fry our fish and chips separately in pure vegetable oil (not containing animal, hydrogenated fats or additives).
Staff was amazing! Super knowledgeable about gluten free options and cross contamination. I was offered gluten free fish and chips as well as many appetizers and desserts. It was so great being able to have the same meal as my husband and have a BEER that actually tastes like BEER!
*i am a very sensitive celiac so this was beyond an amazing experience for me*
We dined at Hobson's Fish and Chips because they offer GLUTEN-FREE FRIED FISH. I have celiac, and the restaurant's offerings was heaven for me. I rarely get to eat fried food (french fries/chips) because it's usually contaminated by other gluten-filled food that's fried in the same oil. All of Hobson's chips are gluten-free, and they have a dedicated fryer for the gf fish. I ordered fried cod, which was yummy. Their fish is fresh as it's caught closeby. Oh, they also have gluten-free beer. Our server was friendly and efficient. The place is in the Bayswater/Notting Hill area--close to our hotel. We will definitely return!
Fish only. calamari was subpar.
With some gluten-free family members, we enjoyed our meal at Hobson's very much. Excellent and attentive service, comprehensive choice of food and sides and lovely crispy generous portions of fish and chips.
The only reason I didn't give the food 5 stars is that the onion rings were a little oily but otherwise it was all delicious.
We didn't even get chance to eat. I made a reservation only to be told on arrival with my guests from South Africa that the restaurant was closed due to the bank holiday and carnival. It would have been nice know in advance before we walked almost a mile to get there...
While the service wasn’t the best but the fish and chips were really good. I hate to say something like the best I ever had. It sounds cheesy, right? So I’m not going to say they were the best I ever had, but they were really really good.
Fish and chips à conseiller. Poisson frais , enrobage léger, bon accueil et service sympathique.
The gluten free food is amazing. It is so nice to get quality fish and chips and onion rings, etc. And the ambiance for a chippy is really really good. Prices are a bit high, but it is worth it!
We came last week-end and were very satisfied. The plates are really full and you won't leave being hungry :). Quality is here. Kindness too. We'll go back when on a trip to London. Thank you
Fantastic. Really good. Ok for coeliac people!
Great fish and chips. Appreciate that that they offer real English Fish and Chips in Gluten free version.
I was traveling in London & wanted to good fish. Googled & found this restaurant so near my hotel. Went there & was very satisfied with the food & service. Highly recommended!
The service was wonderful and the food was amazing - especially exciting to have gluten free fish and chips! It was a bit pricey but there was also SO much food that I was ridiculously and happily full. Well worth the trip.
Nice, kind and young staff. Fresh fish. Gluten free options. We had gluten free fish and chips and a very good beef and ale pie.
Fantastic gluten free offerings and very knowledgeable staff. Enjoyed dinner with 3 highly sensitive celiacs and no one got sick. Highly recommend.
Incredibly tasty and super crispy gluten-free fish n' chips! Service was a little slow for the time of the day, but the food was so good, I still give this place 5-stars. Waitstaff very helpful and nice. Ambiance got 3-stars but just simply because it is a casual restaurant, but it is very clean with fresh decor and well lit.
Friendly staff, prompt service, kid-friendly. Fish and chips were very tasty.
Loved that we could have classic English fish and chips (only gluten free!).
The allergies menu was the reason we came and the food was fantastic!
I’ve had the “real thing” and this was spot on.
The bigger fish and chips i have ever seen!
Very taste, lot of chips, i suggest to take small chips
Excellent moment avec ma compagne dans ce restaurant. Poisson frais, service agréable et cadre sympathique. On aime, on adore
The most beautiful coeliac friendly gluten free fish and chips I’ve found in London! Lovely service too and they even have choice of 2 different gluten free beers. Thanks Hobson’s, we will be back!
We ordered one gluten free fish and one regular. We both got gluten free by mistake. Otherwise, good experience. Fish and other food was delicious.
Perfekt glutenfri fish and Chips
We went so that our celiac daughter could comfortably experience fish and chips on our London vacation!
It was delicious for all of us including none gluten free. It’s definitely more of a casual lunch place (but not inexpensive).
Excellent gluten free fish and chips and extremely attentive personable staff. Huge bonus for a dedicated gluten free fryer. A must for anyone with gluten intolerance while in London.
The table service was awful - no attention paid to us and kept bringing food without Cutlery. £100 is a lot for 4 people in a chippy. We did not order a huge amount of food.
I would not go again - as they had a mandatory charge of £10 table service charge which I find offensive as the service was abysmal.
Please sort this out as this place does not live up to the hype
An early dinner before theater. Short walk from our apartment and really good onion rings. Light and crispy. Battered is the way to go. The cod was also crispy but the grilled haddock was just sad. Go if you want good cheap fried and battered fish. Otherwise I’d skip it.
For gluten free fish and chips, you can’t go wrong here and probably won’t find it many other places. It’s wonderful! Plus, they even offer gluten free beer!! Worth visiting!
Very good gluten free menu. It’s great have gluten free fish and chips.
Service-oriented staff and very good food. The Best Fish & Chips ever. Very good gluten-free food with clear description. Highly recomended!!!
My family and me had such a great time trying the popular fish an chips dishes... The fish was crunchy and light, not oily. The potatoes and the fried mars were fried in a different oil and that made the food really tasty.
restaurant suitable for family dining
good food in a casual setting
very attentive waitresses
I was hoping to be able to eat fish and chips while traveling in England, but wasn't sure I'd find any that's gluten free. Hobson's to the rescue! They have many gluten free items on the menu, including fish and chips and beer! The server was very nice and helpful, the restaurant is clean and the tables were an attractive mixed wood (maybe reclaimed wood?). I am not a big fan of fried food, so I couldn't finish all the fried batter coating on the fish and the fried onions, but it was good to be able to try this English food while there. I would recommend this restaurant and would return if/when I'm back in London!
The previous Mickey Fish and Chip now revamped to Hobson, it’s pretentious and not retain the quality, the food is so so but worse was the staff whom were not of quality, lack attentiveness and mainly just made us not welcomed.
No more! I wouldn’t go again so will not recommend it to anyone.
Hobsons has a normal fish and chips menu as well as offering plain grilled fish, gluten-free battered options, a selection of salads and greens. Spacious comfy seating with some interesting historical fishing photos on the wall. Friendly seevice. My fried cod had excellent batter but fish was not so fresh which was a disappointment. With daily delivery of seafood, this should not happen.
Petit restaurant à l’accueil très sympathique, excellents fish & chips, pie, fish burger et fish cakes. Portions très copieuses et excellent rapport qualité prix.
The waitress was unfriendly and did not seem to comprehend things easily. We asked for a glass of water as we sat down which took 10 minutes to come even though the restaurant was empty. The gluten free fish was tasteless an oily. They forgot to order a Cajun spice and just dusted it on instead of grilling it again. A real disappointment
The best fish and chips in West London.
