Amazing service. Everything we had on the menu was so tasteful and presented so well
Lovely as always..a real treat for Saturday night- food stunning and service is topclass
Great service and very nice ambience.
Good wine list at OK prices - we chose the Pinot Gris from Meinklang (Orange).
However I didn’t really find the food to be anything surprising for the price. Would definitely recommend their beef ragu on tagliatelle though - probably the best dish we had from the chef’s menu!
We love the amazing seasonal delicious food and the friendly professional service. Second visit and we will return!
Host is one of my favourite restaurants to go to. We return time and time again for different occasions as well as to celebrate the end of a long week on a Friday evening! We tend to opt for the Chefs menu which provides you with a variety of taste sensations! The wine list is incredible and the staff are friendly, knowledgeable and create a warm and welcome atmosphere. An all round excellent restaurant!!
Our favourite Dublin restaurant - we’ve been 5 times and will keep coming back!
Food, service and atmosphere were all amazing. The food is a unique twist on what I felt was sort of Irish tapas. So delicious! The staff are also brilliantly trained and extremely knowledgeable about all their food and wines!
Not mad about the high tables as it was hard to hear my friends sitting opposite me.
Everything was perfect! My party and I chose Chef's menu for the day and we were enjoying our food and the ambiance of the restaurant very much. The wine list was amazing, and thanks to our server of the day I think I've discovered my favorite red wine. Would love to see a bit more of a creative spin on the main courses. We had grilled Rib Eye and Hake with garden peas, which we thought were a little underwhelming compared to the rest of the dishes they served on Chef's menu. The garden peas could be cooked a few seconds more, and on average all the dishes were a little bit too salty to my taste.
great food, we got the chef's menu - which is great but a bit overpriced I believe
Great staff and fantastic food. Stylish but easy atmosphere. New favourite
Sean and the team are exemplary. Best wine list in Ireland and the food was phenomenal. Sorry I live in NY. Would go back weekly.
Just excelled in every expectation. A true gem of a place
Again a user meal in Host, has to be one of the best in Ranelagh and indeed Dublin
Amazing meal, brilliant staff. Couldn’t fault it.
Delicious food and fantastic service! Also an interesting selection of wines.
My Favourite Restaurant in Dublin, everything about it is fantastic!!
One of the best restaurants in the city, modern dishes and great staff
Let me start by saying that the service was absolutely wonderful. Yes, they were a little bit rushed due to how busy it was, but they were friendly, they were attentive, and they made you feel at ease. The staff really lived up to the name of the restaurant, they were great hosts.
The food was delicious, a bit more varied than your usual fare. I had the rib eye and I have to say it was cooked to perfection. Add to that a substantial but not overwhelming wine list and you're guaranteed to find something to satisfy you.
As good as all that is, I do have two small issues. The first is the acoustics. The high ceilings made the place so echoey and loud that I could barely hear what my partner had to say. A few noise muffling steps could be taken to mitigate this but it really put a bit of a damper on what could otherwise be a really intimate setting.
Secondly, I think the concept needs a bit of refinement. I'm certainly not going to complain about a seasonal menu based on variation in a fast casual setting. However, I can't count the amount of times I walked past Host and didn't go in because I didn't understand what they were offering. I think that they would become an even more popular destination in the competitive food market of Ranelagh if they were to somehow communicate the unique experience they are offering in a clearer way.
All in all I had a nice meal and some of the best service I've seen in Dublin despite a couple of very minor issues, so I can definitely recommend.
Great food, excellent service and a real buzz of atmosphere.
Great tasting food in decent portions. The chef's menu is highly recommended for taste and creativity.
Amazing food, chefs menu is super tasty. very enjoyable evening
Yet another great meal in host. Food is amazing and staff very good and knowledgeable.
Enjoyed the chef menu option and it was fantastic! Great veggie options and the halibut main was delicious! The service was excellent. Would definitely come back!
Love this restaurant because food is so good . Last night a fantastic pork chop with salsa verde with their amazing potato fries and a stunning radish radicchio and anchovy salad. It’s all served in a friendly no fuss and relaxed way. Love it
Staff are super friendly and helpful. They were very knowledgeable about the wine list. We ordered the chefs selection which included 4 starters, a main, 2 sides and a desert. That cost us 37 per person but was totally worth it if you’re looking to splash out for dinner because every bite was sensational. They were also very accommodating and offered us a pescatarian option even though it wasn’t on the menu. For the price the atmosphere is a bit causal, some people are sitting on benches, it’s quite tight and loud. But overall very worth it for the food experience.
As one of our guests said ‘ the best meal he has had in 25 years
Excellent good and service as usual
Best restaurant in Dublin
Excellent, top quality, best restaurant in Dublin. Very unique.
Fabulous food and service. Chef Manuel all delicious but maybe too much food for me. Loved every dish however just couldn’t finish it.
Brought my 10 year old daughter and she absolutely loved the steak.
Food was great without being too pretentious. Nice venue and friendly staff. A bit pricey but that's what happening again in Dublin in this Celtic tiger 2.0 we are now. Cheapest wine for ~€40 when the same one cost half price or less in Spain or Italy. The wine excise in Ireland is a rip-off.
Really enjoyable evening, had the chef tasting menu every course of which was very tasty. Really good wine and great service too.
Wow, thrilled by the yummy and intimate outing at Host...our first outing but certainly not the last! Thoroughly enjoyed the shared tasting menu...damn those peaches and burrata were the talk of the weekend!
As always a treat to savor .. has never disappointed
Lovely spot. Nice food. Great service.
Amazing food and service. Chef menu excellent value. Highly recommend!
Food was amazing and the staff were incredibly attentive and polite. I would really recommend Host
