For a "high end" steak house, the experience we had was fairly abysmal. From steaks that were served cold (clearly they were sitting out for a while) to food that lacked any flavor, we're unable to recommend this place. For steaks, we had 2 different cuts prepared medium push. They were served heavily charred and were tough to eat. We had steaks prepared with "extras" which were not provided until after the steaks were brought to our table and we had to remind our server to get them. When our leftovers were packaged, they were not included in our boxes. For accompaniments, we had the 5 cheese mac and cheese and the au gratin potatoes. The mac and cheese lacked any flavor (other than cream), but the au gratin potatoes were delicious. We also tried the baked onion soup which was good. Overall, we can't recommend this place for its steaks. The ambiance was decent, but we can't get over the terrible food, especially for the price we paid.

I love the steaks at Hyde park. However they are overpriced along with most everything else. It was quiet enough to talk and not strain to hear. The service is always great and friendly. Why not, there tip is going to be big enough. To be honest if it wasn’t a business meal I couldn’t get myself to pay that much for a steak. Very overpriced for the quality. The Calamari was delicious, the shrimp looked huge but I didn’t have one. Lobster Mac tasted great but was a bit disappointing in that it was runny. A great place if on business.

The food was great, I think everyone's food was cooked to order. I was slightly disappointed with the cut on my steak. I ordered a NY strip and I thought there was a lot of fat on it for that cut. The service was great, no complaints whatsoever. Perfect service.

I wanted to reserve a special table to celebrate my father’s 75th birthday. The manager at Hyde Park was so helpful and recommended a semi-private room called the Boardroom A. The space was perfect. Jess and Binta, our servers, provided outstanding service. The food was excellent. They brought a complementary dessert for my father- a huge piece of DELICIOUS red velvet cake. Restaurant was extremely open but seated in bar area near private party instead of in main dining area. Order came out wrong then they charged us for the non-ordered item. Didn’t see wait staff much during the meal, other than to ask us what else we might want to order. Overall not at all what would be expected from a restaurant like this. This was our second visit and the first visit was similar (wrong order came out the first time too, no offer to replace and charged full price anyway). We probably won’t be back.

The restaurant was beautiful. I wasn’t particularly amazed by the food. It was good but I’ve had better. The restaurant was extremely cold to the point my guest and I wanted to leave as soon as possible. Our waiter became a bit neglectful during the meal and took extremely long to check on us, box up our food and take care of the checks.

My recent visit to Hyde Park left me with mixed feelings. While my expectations were high, considering the price point, the experience fell somewhat short. The restaurant's ambiance didn't quite capture my attention, and unfortunately, the food didn't manage to impress either. Regrettably, the temperature of the dishes served to my entire table was lukewarm, which certainly impacted the overall dining experience. The service, though adequate, lacked that extra touch that truly makes a dining experience memorable. On the positive side, there were aspects that were worth noting. The menu offered a decent variety, and while the execution didn't meet my hopes, there were glimpses of potential in some of the dishes. The staff, while not extraordinary, managed to attend to our needs effectively. Taking everything into consideration, my visit to Hyde Park was a rather middling experience. I would rate it around 2.5 to 3 out of 5. There's room for improvement in various areas, especially given the pricing, but with some adjustments, it has the potential to offer a more satisfying dining experience in the future.

My bf & i went for the first time for my birthday and had an amazing experience . They are super nice and explained everything to us . Manager even came over and had a conversation with us then again when we left. Food was phenomenal , along with the birthday s’mores ! The serve was great .

Overall good steakhouse. Steak prepared to perfect temperature and sides were exceptional. I like steak with the regular seasoning at the restaurant. The blandness of the steak made it appear you needed to order one of the many sauces on the menu to accompany the steak. Service was a little slow but did not take away from the experience.

I took my boyfriend here for his birthday, definitely recommend going with your significant other. It’s very dark and sets a romantic vibe. No complains about the food or the service !

Unfortunately, the maitre d greeted my husband and I differently than the next 2 couples. The only difference is we are black. After we were seated, our wait staff was amazing.

For the price of the steaks we had I was disappointed. We order them medium and my fiancé had to send hers back twice and the last time came back medium rare+ at best. I had a bone in rib-eye and some parts were medium rare, which I am fine with, but other parts were rare. They did comp a dessert which was nice of them. The sides were amazing. I don’t ever mind paying these prices for a good meal but I expect much better consistency.

Outdoor seating was comfortable and staff was attentive. Drinks, apps, dinner and dessert were fantastic.

Always a wonderful dinner at HP! Finally tried one of the special steak sauce preparations (Kosar) and don’t know why it took me so long - amazing!

First off our server, Jared was excellent. Kind knowledgeable. Generally made us feel welcome. Food is excellent, not perhaps to the caliber of some of the Chicago steak houses we are accustomed to, but wonderful, nonetheless, pricey, as expected, but would certainly repeat should the appropriate occasion arise.

Overall not a great experience to sit outside. The food is good, but not terrific. We all Got steaks. Mine was over cooked but they brought a new one very quickly. I had the filet “griffin” and the sauce was average.
