    Hyde Park has all of the ingredients for ax exceptional dining experience. The decor is gorgeous, the quality of what’s coming out of the kitchen supports its $$$$ price level, and the front of the house staff know how to deliver fine dining. But management has lost focus on some of the other things that make or break the experience. First, on a Tuesday night, the time between all courses was unreasonably long. Our reservation was at 7, we left at 10, after ordering appetizers, salad and entrees. We took dessert to go. Three hours would be fine if the wait staff saw that it was intentional - perhaps enjoying a few bottles of wine or conducting business or opening gifts. We did not give any of those cues and there were no apologies. So I have to assume they saw nothing wrong and have accepted their own bad timing as normal. Second, while the prices, quality of food and decor absolutely support a 3 hour meal, most guests were inappropriately dressed. Not enforcing a reasonable dress code really cheapens the entire experience. I don’t want to pay $500 (party of 3 with only one person drinking) sitting next to someone in sweat pants and sneakers under a crystal chandelier. Or a tshirt, flannel, ripped jeans and a baseball cap. Our 20 year old knew to show up with a button down, blazer and khakis. Yet most of the adults looked way too casual. We felt foolish. Please, enforce a dress code if you’re going to charge $82 for an a la carte steak. Finally, we waited for a half hour for our valeted car, along with about 15 other people in the same queue. You know how many reservations you have that night, and when they will all be leaving. Please appropriately staff the valet. I think it’s going to be a while before I come back. It just doesn’t seem like they really care about their brand anymore. They kind of put the place on autopilot. I can get an expensive steak at a dozen or more places around town.

    We have been to a number of upscale steak houses and Hyde Park did not disappoint. Steaks were cooked to perfection and the ambiance was great.

    First time at this restaurant. The service was amazing. The food was just unbelievable. The steaks melted in my mouth. Cooked perfectly. The only disappointment was we had to wait nearly 45 minutes for valet to get our car. With 4 of them standing by the podium. We asked several times and they kept saying it was on its way. Made us late to our show. Will definitely go back though. Top notch experience.

    The quality of the food was not the best. We just went to the one in Dublin few weeks ago and the steaks were so much better. Mine was a little burnt. And my husband’s was medium well and he ordered medium rare. We were disappointed.

    Hyde Park is a place my family loves going to to celebrate anything! We normally go to the Upper Arlington location, which we love, but for my mother’s 75th birthday we thought we would try the Downtown location. We LOVED it! We had our own private room, which was great with kids!! Thank you for a wonderful evening with our family!!

    I love it here, we had the lobster “ escargot” very opulent. Caesar salad always good, hubby’s steak flavor was Excellent, but also a bit chewy. Love the creamed spinach gratin. Dessert was a Wowee, Butter Cake Banana Foster for 2, really fantastic, worth the calories as any dessert should. Nice Wine list, outstanding service. Can’t wait to go back.

    My fiancé and I were enjoying a wonderful evening for our anniversary and someone had the dumb idea to let the OSU varsity marching band in the restaurant. They stood 2 feet from our table and proceeded to blow down three songs, and interrupted a great dinner and conversation. Four bandmembers even apologized It was so bad. I understand it’s OSU but keep it outside because trust me you could’ve heard it. This should never happen at a upscale restaurant like Hyde Park

    We came to Columbus for our 40th birthdays and the Ohio State game. Came to Hyde Park on a friend’s recommendation and it was one of the best places we’ve ever eaten.

    This is not the type of experience that I would expect from an upmarket restaurant . The service was quite weak . We had 2 servers tag teaming us that didn’t let one another know what was going on .A glass of Prosecco was spilled on my menu by the waitress .She did bring a small bit of extra Prosecco to replace some of what was spilled but not a new napkin as I had used mine to clean up the spill . I caught the glass during mid spill or would have been soaked . And this does happen and was not my complaint. The food runner ended up taking our entree order . He did a fine job though . This was not a busy night . The 2 servers did not seem to care . The food was another matter. There were pieces of shells in 6 of our 8 oysters . The mashed potatoes and Steak were so highly salted that we could not eat them . There were 2 exceptional appetizers . The tuna tower and beef carpaccio were excellent . The creamed corn side was delicious. We were not asked during the meal how our food was . Our plates were not cleared after we were finished with our main course . It was apparent that we were not happy as we had a lot of leftover potatoes and steak .. but, we were not asked . I am just disappointed I did not ask to speak to a manager but I just was more than ready to leave . This just was not the nice evening out that it should have been had a couple things been done differently .

    Unfortunately, I was under the weather, but my husband went to our dinner reservation and said it was a great time. He watched the Ohio State game from the bar and had a delicious ribeye steak and a wedge salad. The food is consistently delicious.

    Overall food disappointing. The carpaccio was very salty, the Cesar salad was over dressed, the main dishes came out with the wrong sides and sauces; however, once fixed they were delicious. The bananas foster was inedible. The presentation was delightful, but the method they used to flambé left the whole dish tasting like 200 proof everclear; typically this has a lovely banana, caramel, with a light depth of of flavor from rum. None of this was present. The service was very good except I would have expected them to address the complaint regarding the banana’s foster.

    Wagu filet mingon with peppercorn crust and mushrooms was fabulous. Creamed corn side dish was great. Salmon citrus style was okay. Scallops special was amazing. Great staff. Banana fosters desert was also great.

    We dined here for our 15th anniversary. The service was horrible!! The food was decent, but $400 later it ruined our experience Drinks were empty multiple times, had to ask for silverware, had to wait on butter for my lobster and had to ask for the check. Three hour night…..we sat and waited too long for everything

    The service was perfect. Oysters on the half shell were just ridiculous, tiny, gritty- flat smears in shells. Awful. We ordered the $82 special steak, bourbon butter etc. and it was lukewarm and dry. Such a disappointment.

    Food was beyond amazing! We had our birthday girl with us and the staff made sure to make her feel super special. Our waitress was great overall. She forgot the bread and butter and disappeared towards the end for A bit but overall, she was good!
