We found the menu very limited. Not a lot of variety for different diets. Nice otherwise
Great food in a really welcoming and lively environment.
Lovely evening in a homely warm setting, equally as good for dinner as it is for the delicious pastry’s & brunch in the morning. Proper honest cooking from Jack & the team with a great drinks list. Front of house team great also.
It was so relaxing and I love the ambience - I have just had back surgery so I needed to be in a lovely healing place and Jolene offers that - the food is so tasty - I always have the same - the fried eggs and toast and the salmon - we tasted the quiche today - it was the best I have had
Thank you for a fab dining experience
Food was well developed. I liked the touch of putting on my name on the table. Everything was fresh, well sourced, and tasty. The food is to be experienced.
One of my favourite places - great food, excellent atmosphere, friendly staff and free bread to take home at the end of the night as an added bonus!
The food was superb, the staff both competent and lovely, the decor soothing
I was expecting much more. The table was not ready on time, the cappuccino is super small and toasties with cornichons as a side, really?
It’s a sharing place and the food is great but the chef shows no flexibility to the menu. If you want anything more or less it’s a no.
Great food accompanied by excellent service. Our waitress was easy to deal with and helpful throughout our meal, from helping us to decide between menu options to bringing our food and drinks in good time and at comfortable intervals.
We sat at the bar near the back of the restaurant and found this a relaxed environment with comfortable noise levels from the restaurant's music and customers, while still being able to hear ourselves talk.
Will certainly come here again.
A local gem. We love Jolene and always find it a great dinner with good service. Our bellies were very happy. My only constructive criticism would be that there aren’t enough Gluten Free options on the menu generally which makes choice a bit limiting for those who have to avoid gluten. Otherwise it’s great and we’ll be back again soon.
Very good breakfast and lively service. The pastries were not too sweet, just the way I like it. Decent coffee.
Super fun great atmosphere
Good choices in courses . Wish we’d skipped the small plates that filled us up and went straight for pasta - this was luscious and I wanted all three. The guinea fowl was lovely too but we were too full fir the lovely polenta. The deserts were gorgeous and the best custard tart we’ve had in ages . House wine was good - the mark of a good place . We’ll go again .
The best soup I have eaten all year. It was so good I ordered a second bowl.
Great service and wine list - food was subpar especially at the price
Loved everything about the place, apart from the fact they had no menus. The food was on a black board on a wall but we kept having to get up to read the menu... obviously this is a minor inconvenience. The lighting, atmosphere, food and staff we all great. Recommending to all.
Lovely place - great staff. Breakfast plates are a bit small tho for the price. Maybe a wholes
Slice of sourdough not half?
I visited for brunch.
Pros: great look and feel, delicious pastries, good coffee, friendly staff
Cons: not allowed to customise order (I wanted to add a fried egg to my dish and was made to order the fried eggs with toast as a side because they wouldn’t do it. I’m not entirely sure what the plates are achieving being so simple but costing so much (2 fried eggs on 1 piece of Sourdough toast is £6.50). I had the salmon and it was tasty but boring and plain.
Heard dinner here is lovely but would not recommend for brunch if you are hungry or looking for flavour.
Amazing ambience and atmosphere. Food was great quality and super tasty. Would definitely go back.
Second visit to Jolene and the food was heavenly. Loved every dish. Fresh, delicious and incredibly tasty menu.
Had a really wonderful meal at Jolene, the service was outstanding and the food was excellent. The waiter was mindful of our dietary requirements, was attentive and made the whole dinner a great experience. Will be back very soon!!
Lovely local restaurant , really sweet and friendly staff & delicious food. We went for a group birthday dinner but the ambience is so nice here it would be perfect for a romantic date too. More vegetarian options would be a great addition
The food was spectacular! But the portions were smaller than I expected for the price. I'd still recommend this for anyone willing to spend a bit more on an amazing brunch!
Amazing food, wine and ambience! The pasta is amazing, as is the fish. 100% have to get the focaccia if you go!
Love Jolene - the food is amazing. However the noise in the restaurant was incredibly loud - it seemed really extreme for some reason on this visit. It took away from the enjoyment of the meal, I don’t know if there are ways the restaurant could sound proof the room better?
Food was good but not really special. The wine by the glass was poor. No variety, all tasting very similar and no real substance amongst them. More care and attention is needed in the ‘drinks’ department. Brandy was ordered and asked for in a warm glass - this was ignored. It’s reputation exceeds the experience sadly. However the service was exemplary.
Lovely setting but food was a let down. Pretty naff starter plates with very little to them, particularly for the price. The pasta dishes were fine, however when one of our party ordered the ravioli, he was asked by the waiter if he would like two as they are very small. We’re a group of friends based in Hackney, so are used to pricey small plates, however unfortunately the whole group felt disappointed by the quality of the food. There is a saturated market of restaurants of this sort in London offering much better grub.
Such a wonderful place. The food was super fresh and delicious. The portions where small, especially the starters so you need to take doubles if you are more than two. We are definitely going back and very much enjoyed the food and the atmosphere overall.
Delicious pastries. Excellent coffee. Lovely service. Beautiful space. Thank you!
I’ve booked a table for 2 for the last slot available (21:15) and I was looking forward to it. However when we got there we were immediately rushed because the kitchen was closing in 15min. So we had to order under pressure and being told constantly that we weren’t ordering enough food. We ended up with a (small) table covered in plates and struggling to eat everything at the same time. Not a very enjoyable experience.
I would suggested an earlier last slot or extending the kitchen's working hours to avoid this. The food and wine was good but was ruined by circumstances.
Wonderful wine list and romantic ambiance. Staff is super kind and the pastries simply can’t be beat.
Although I was there for a special event, and so can't judge what a normal night would be like, I couldn't recommend this place more highly. The food was fantastic and the staff were particularly lovely (which considering my friend had to cancel at the last minute and I went by myself was much appreciated). Look forward to going back soon.
Jolene is one of my favourite London restaurants. A great hybrid, it has the right level of sophistication and comfort; perfect ambience and the food and wine is always outstanding. Love Tutto wines, and the regional meal with their wine producers was just perfect.
Lovely pastries and excellent service. Unfortunately, I found the menu quite limited on the day I went. The coffees were delicious but quite small.
Jolene is a local favourite. Great food and service. Always enjoy it. Only downside is when we get put on a squished shared table for dinner otherwise great.
Honestly this is my favourite restaurant in London. Incredible food every time, lovely cosy atmosphere. The flourless chocolate cake is incredible. It’s not the cheapest but the quality and taste of every ingredient is worth it for me. Couldn’t recommend more highly!
Lovely space, tiny portions, big prices, great atmosphere, nice food. A good place to catch up with friends and snack.
Food was delicious and the table in the corner extremely nice. The portions weren’t that big and most of all it did feel a bit crowded.
Great place but it’d be amazing if it had about 5 fewer tables.
Lovely, high quality food. Always busy & good atmosphere
