   Great vibe, great ambiance. Service was good too. Quality of food wasn’t as good as their other locations. I’m glad I went but probably won’t go back there.

   Hot food was cold and soggy … my daughter’s sushi came after my meal and after asking for it several times. Manager was nice enough and unless you want to go to an over rated sushi place with private school kids then I’d skip this place!

   Katsuya is consistently excellent. From the warm greeting by the hostesses, one of whom quickly escorted us to our table, to the great welcome from our server and a trainee, to the excellent food and great service, Katsuya remains one of the best managed and culinary satisfying restaurants in LA.

   Katsuya consistently disappoints. I want it to be what it was years ago but it’s not, ever. It smells a little unwashed (especially the bar side), several plates were dirty, the waitstaff is friendly enough but seem hurried and like they don’t like their jobs. The front staff is always arrogant. They smile and say welcome but treat you with a subtle level of disdain. Like their running the hottest ticket in town and you are trying to get a better seat than you deserve. The food is good. Overall it just has a bad vibe in my opinion. Too bad we don’t have more local options.

    There was not one thing we did not like. Sushi some of best we have ever had, our waiter was teriffic and took time to explain the menu; we can't complain. Expensive but actually worth it.

    We had a really great experience. The ambience is wonderful. The scenery is beautiful. We sat at a table outside with the heater, which was adequate. The service was impeccable. The price point for the food was appropriate and will be back again.

    Probably the worst sushi I've ever eaten! Rainbow roll was mostly rice, the shrimp tempura was as soggy as a wet towel! I wondered if it was ACTUALLY shrimp! The service was very poor. We had to ask 4 different people to bring us extra wasabi, and the last time we asked, we had to get up from the table to FIND someone to ask. The restaurant was noisy and jam-packed. I have no idea why it's so crowded unless people just think it's a "happening" place. Katsuya is obviously more concerned with quantity over quality. They are just trying to make a ton of money! Guess it is working for them, but I will never go back! I've had MUCH better sushi at Sushi Stop and for less than half the price!

    Food and service was good as always. The table was next to the bar, therefore lots of walking traffic and a couch was not conducive to eating dinner. Fine for drinks - not a dinner reservation with business associates.

    Love Katsuya but the service was not great. We were seated and ordered Edamame and then our waiter didn't come back for 20 min. We called another waiter who took our drinks order, finally, and told his colleague (our initial waiter) to take care of us. the edamame arrived after 25 min and the waiter said it was forgotten in the kitchen but here it is, she took it off the bill, but still!! Had to constantly look out for the waiter if we wanted something and ordering wasn't possible before even making hand signs to get the waiters attention. And it wasn't busy or anything! Not great.

    I have visited many times but this place is now a mess. The food has gone down, the service is terrible and no course arrived on time. Some of us got our main course while others were still waiting for our appetizers. And the ladies room looked like a homeless shelter. Do you guys ever clean the rest rooms in the course of a Friday night???

    It’s like they bunched a lot of tables near each other just for Valentine’s Day. Could hear every single word from the table right and left of me. I believe this was the same for the other groups near us. Been here before and it’s not normally like this. Food was great like it normally is. Ambience was a sham.

    I was charged for a $200 seating even though there was ZERO indication on their site that there is any charge here. The manager said he would refund me but never did. It's been over a month and I have not been refunded.

    Rather expensive for portions sizes. Drinks were strong though. Waitress was nice but table wasn’t regularly cleared, and when it was half-drunk drinks and plates with food were removed when still being consumed - for the high prices, service should be better.

    I have been dining at Katsuya for more than a decade. The last two times have been really disappointing. It took more than 45 minutes to get a single item we ordered, we didn’t even get the appetizers from the tasting menu until the end of the meal. The crispy rice was cold. The fried brussels and rock shrimp were soggy with grease. The miso cod was overly sweet and syrupy. The server was overwhelmed. the bill was $160 for the tasting menu, two rolls, a miso soup and 2 orders of sushi and included and additional 5% restaurant service charge added to the tab. Which I would be happy to pay, but not for the quality of service and dining experience we had.

    We walked in welcomed n greeted upon check in asked our reservation n seated right away.. Our server welcomed us and introduced himself that he will be our server for the evening. Gabe was very professional n well thought on the specials for the night, gave us some ideas on what to get that are popular and new. All in all expectations was there and we had fun and enjoyed our meal. As always.. love this place.. Thank u and Kudos to Gabe.

    Eating at Katsuya was an absolute dream. We ended up ordering about 6 dishes and every single one was a 10/10 experience. The food was incredible (incredible!) and the service is unmatched. We had the absolute pleasure of having Brendon as our waiter and he want so above and beyond. He is the best waiter we've experienced in Los Angeles (and we've lived here for 4 years!). Incredible experience from the moment we walked in until the we left. We're counting down the days until we go back!
