Our mission is to provide pure, plant-powered meals that are good for your body. Our approach is knowledgeable, playful, and engaging. We offer a unique opportunity to experience a different way of eating vegetables and discover new flavours and textures. Talented chefs behind Food For Friends restaurant (established in 1981 as Brighton’s first vegetarian restaurant), Botanique (Hove’s exclusive plant based restaurant) and Wolfox Coffee have put together their experience and knowledge to bring you this new Asian inspired plant based concept.

The result is a creative and colourful menu which shows organic plant-based food can lead to surprising, healthy and mindful new eating experiences. We believe in an upgraded casual dining experience in beautiful light-filled spaces dedicated to natural plant-based food and organic wines.

A visit at lunchtime probably isn't the best as there is a far more limited menu than in the evening, and when I visited there were only five other diners during the course of two and a half hours. But I can imagine in the evening when it's full it would be a much better experience.

Myself and a friend had a fantastic experience here - everything was brilliant from the decor and ambience to the food and drinks. The restaurant has a lovely vibe and the tables are nicely spread out so you're not too close to anyone else. Food was phenomenal and all of the waiters that served us were knowledgeable and really kind. Would highly recommend, and will be returning myself.

What a delight. Beautiful restaurant, every dish (and we tried a lot of the small Plates) was so incredibly flavourful with a real attention to detail. It was a great experience, and would definitely return. Only teeny gripe was the delicious cocktails took a while to appear.

Nice food but not authentically Japanese. The Gyoza tasted of coconut and the udon broth tasted of star anise. I wondered if it was more of a fusion profile the restaurant was going for. Had I been asked what I thought of the food I would have mentioned it to the waiter.

This was my second visit to Kusaki having been on a Saturday night a few weeks earlier. The food was great, fresh, tasty and exciting. My issue was with the service. On this occasion I visited with my child and we were overlooked and ignored for long spells. We arrived at 6.30, left at 8.45 in which time we had 2 small plates and a shared noodle dish. We waited 45 minutes for sushi which never arrived. Whilst the restaurant was full other people did seem to get served around us. It was also not as busy as my previous visit where service was fine. I can’t speak for their motivation but my observation is that my first visit was with my white partner and my second with my Black child. Make of that what you will. I won’t b rushing back

Delicious food, and though we waited a bit too long for initial service (the restaurant was pretty busy, so we helped ourselves to menus) the person who served our meal and drinks was interested in the product, explaining to us what was in each dish and how it was prepared, in answer to our questions. The restaurant is attractive, and my friend and I had a very enjoyable evening - my first 'proper' Japanese style meal.
