Dinner on a Saturday night at Kyma is a big mistake. We had a 7:00 pm reservation and were not seated until 7:45. That is truly unacceptable. The noise level was extreme. We could barely hear the members of party if 4. The server was excellent and the food was very good. I would only go back on an evening Monday through Thursday.

Disappointing and Inelegant Policy I visited this restaurant last night, and unfortunately, the front-of-house policy completely ruined the evening before it even began. We arrived slightly ahead of the rest of our party. Instead of being escorted to our reserved table—which was already sitting empty and waiting for us—we were told we could not be seated until our entire group arrived. We are adults, not children looking to loiter. Forcing paying guests to stand around instead of allowing them to sit down, relax, and order a drink at their own table is incredibly unsophisticated and rigid. To make matters worse, we were directed to wait at the bar. When we went to sit in two open seats, we were told those specific bar stools were "reserved" and we could not use them. This forced us to stand uncomfortably and awkwardly. The hypocrisy is glaring: how can a restaurant reserve individual bar stools for patrons, yet refuse to let guests sit at the actual dining table they reserved in advance? A true fine dining establishment should focus on hospitality, comfort, and treating guests like adults. Making patrons stand around twiddling their thumbs is a childish way to manage a dining room. While the food is very good, the overall experience is how we decided where we want to dine. It created a highly uncomfortable, unwelcome atmosphere, and we will think twice about returning.

The food and service were both great but we were so rushed. Our food & drink were both taken away before we even had a chance to finish. I had 1/2 glass of wine that was taken before I had a chance to finish it and we were still eating when they cleared our dishes. We weren’t even asked if we wanted our leftovers. It was evident they were trying to turn the tables quickly. We drove from NJ to visit this restaurant so was a bit disappointed with the experience.
