Renowned for its warm greeting and super friendly service, the Brasserie's Anglo-French cuisine has been a favourite with a star studded clientele that has included Frank Sinatra, HRH Princess Margaret, Mohammed Ali, Marlon Brando, Jack Nicholson, and Diana, Princess of Wales.
The interior is full of distinctive artworks and the restaurant has been a regular haunt of emerging artists including Francis Bacon and David Hockney.
The brasserie menu features traditional British dishes like Langan’s bangers and mash, cod & chips, and potted shrimps. The spinach souffle is a must. Among long-running London restaurants, Langan’s is a star.

The service was excellent, the friendly waiting staff were always there when we wanted them - my glass was never allowed to be empty - but respected our privacy. I had mussels in white wine sauce for a starter - they were cooked to perfection although there were too many of them for a first course in my opinion. The pheasant was pleasant and my friends thought that the "Dingley Dell" pork was very tasty. Overall a very enjoyable lunch.
Tired and Sub Standard but Big Prices
I have been going here for decades, and it always has a charm and character, however the last few visits culminating in last night, feel more and more like an unloved tired old dame with no leadership. I had a moderate duck salad with leaves that look they had come straight out of a bag, my main of the daily special, beef in wine, tasted nice, was tepid in temperature, tiny in size and cost £25. 2 of us had a moderate meal, 1 gin and tonic 1 beer, no dessert and it cost £133 being to my mind bad value. I sadly feel this much loved institution has served me one moderate over priced meal too many, and until it has a major makeover and evaluation of standards I wont be going back to the 80s anymore.. . Bye bye Langans.. I will miss you
Having wanted to visit this restaurant for a long time when we finally got there we were very disappointed
The food was ok and very over priced for what it was
I am not adverse to paying for quality and sadly this fell short
No mussels left which was disappointing
We were seated next to the service door which was a little busy
Fabulous evening, excellent food and wine and the service was superb
From the moment we stepped through the door we were made to feel welcome and special by the friendly reception staff. The food was superb and as described on the menu and our waiters were professional, kind and helpful. This was a birthday celebration which was a great success.
Always good service, food always amazing, had a brilliant time with our friends...thank you Langans!!
A great time for a special occasion
Staff were friendly. Food excellent
The food was excellent and the service was very friendly and professional. The noise level from other dines behind us was loud for a Saturday afternoon and at times made it quite difficult to hear our selves
Nice meal on Friday night, but extremely noisy in both the bar and restaurant. Could hardly hear yourself speak
Can't recommend this gem enough, staff are extremely attentive and the food top notch and reasonably priced! What's not too love??
This place never fails to delight
Food great, wines great, service great but far too noisy. Couldn't hear ourselves think and any conversation across the table was pointless. We were positioned between two very noisy large tables which was unfortunate for us but even seated elsewhere would have been only marginally quieter.
Good value Brasserie with great food and cocktails in a vibrant atmosphere that strikes the right balance among class and unpretentiousness. Attentive and prompt service, only the main courses took a bit longer to arrive. Very nice martinis and good value wines. Food was delicious, the monkfish really good, only minor point of attention the slightly overdone liver. Would recommend for a pleasant dinner to unwind with friends after a long day.
Love coming here, great restaurant and always friendly staff.
Always brilliant and today’s lunch was no different.
Love Langan’s always great atmosphere and delicious food. Can be a bit noisy when very busy but this adds to the atmosphere for me.
The team are lovely and very attentive we will definitely be back.
Disappointing. We ate after a BAFTA event. My chair was broken, staff were borderline unfriendly. Food was passable. I got the distinct impression that it’s a restaurant resting on its laurels.
A fantastic restaurant .the food here is excellent .service impeccable.the people are very welcoming
Haven't been to Langans for 17 years and it it is still a great place to eat. Love the ambience and the food as it was all those years ago, is delicious. Recommend the Steak and Kidney pudding, my favourite dish anytime when it's home made like this. Looking forward to going again when Bread and Butter pudding is on the menu as it left an impression on me all those years ago so hope it will appear again.
Maintains a very high standard. Traditional fayre served in atmospheric surroundings. Always a pleasure to eat here. I have been coming for over 30 years!
Great food and ambience. Service a little slow but not a major problem
It was mine and my wife's 30th Wedding Anniversary and we thought we would go somewhere special to celebrate it, with our long standing friends. The service by your efficient and welcoming staff was excellent ,together with a top class menu. A night to remember. Thank you very much.
How disappointing! We went to Langans for a birthday meal. The food was so disappointing. Salty broccoli soup, a steak and kidney pudding with no steak in, an overdressed Caesar salad, soggy fish and chip batter. The starter came out so quickly we had to ask them to slow down the next course otherwise we would have been in and out within an hour. Sadly a very expensive and disappointing meal. We won’t be returning.
I love Langans. Proper London dining. No pretentious bcks. Great food and atmosphere. Staff are awesome. Steak and kidney pudding is the bomb. Best Mojitos in London.
Good wholesome menu, well presented and all 8 of us enjoyed what we ordered, will be back
Sloppy waiter who seemed keen to 'throw' the wine into our glasses. Still a reasonable (for Mayfair) restaurant with dependable menu.
Fantastic as always service and food was outstanding
Food was lovely & well presented. Staff were very attentive & couldn’t do enough for you.
Fab food and service as always. Been going to Langans for years and would highly recommend it for any celebration.
Food came in over 1 hour. ordered pate de frois gras, all butter no fois gras. returned it. i had fish platter with a slice of salmon, seabass and 2 fish cakes. the seabass and salmon was dry and extremely small portion. the 2 fish cakes were smelling, so i could not eat them. my wife had fish and chips, it was ok.
i got sick in my stomach when i returned to my hotel room.
Great evening with my lovely wife food and service excellent as always
Great place to eat never disappoints.
We have been to Langans about 6 or 7 times across the last 20 years and have never been disappointed. Our latest visit (Fri 8th Nov) was just as good. Food was excellent and service was professional, polite and friendly. It was very busy so our 3 course meal took about 2.75 hours but it's not fast food, so if you want to eat in 1 hrs go somewhere else. The noise levels do rise but we've never had to shout to be heard, it's just a lively, buzzing atmosphere. At £150 for two people, 3 courses, wine and an aperitif, it's a treat, but one that leaves you full, happy and with more memorable moments to savour until the next time.
I enjoyed yet another visit to this iconic dining room. In particular the service was possibly the best I've encountered for some time, this might have been because we were sitting in the gangway to the kitchen, but even so every server was looking for customer requests and each of them would deal with ALL aspects; be it wine, bread etc. The food was pretty good, I had the excellent smoked haddock and poached eggs, wonderful! followed by the steak and kidney pudding, filled with steak and kidney, but.. the suet was tough and dry and the steak was a bit chewy, other than that all else was excellent..
Yet another great lunch at this iconic venue. The service and atmosphere were both great. Always good!
Visit regularly and normally very good
Unfortunately,on this occasion the dover sole was not cooked and inedible.
This was removed from the bill
Always enjoy Langan’s
Great atmosphere good food great service
I have not been to Langans for maybe 10 years - its still as good as ever - cool decor - attentive but not stifling service - great food - good vibe great ambience.
I had my favourite - Liver and Bacon - it was cooked to perfection - pink
I will be back sooner than 10 years!!
Even though we were late to our table which was entirely our fault , the staff were very understanding.
I've dined in Langans on previous occasions I find that it's a place that always seems to get better and better. Very pleasant staff, superb menu to choose from and what makes the dining worthwhile is your never rushed. No complaints on our groups behalf. Thankyou.
