Renowned for its warm greeting and super friendly service, the Brasserie's Anglo-French cuisine has been a favourite with a star studded clientele that has included Frank Sinatra, HRH Princess Margaret, Mohammed Ali, Marlon Brando, Jack Nicholson, and Diana, Princess of Wales.
The interior is full of distinctive artworks and the restaurant has been a regular haunt of emerging artists including Francis Bacon and David Hockney.
The brasserie menu features traditional British dishes like Langan’s bangers and mash, cod & chips, and potted shrimps. The spinach souffle is a must. Among long-running London restaurants, Langan’s is a star.

Sadly the food disappointed and has not improved since the 90’s, hence overtaken by the competition. Service was rushed and surly. The seafood salad was insipid and swimming in oil. Steak and mushroom pie was ok but the mash was dry and unappealing in colour. Cheese selection was both light on content and quantity. The room maintains its charm and the atmosphere is buzzy. We enjoyed visiting Langan’s after many years away but unfortunately the food quality needs to improve dramatically if it is to return anywhere near the top of the rankings.
My Wife and I had a lovely night with my two sisters who were in Langans for the first time
Several years since last visit but pleasantly surprised that the special ambiance and efficiency remembered from before are still there in abundance. Food and drink very good but strongest features for me were the warmth of service and surroundings.
Our first visit to Langan's - had just finished Michael Caines new book & decided was a 'must' as the book
was most entertaining & had many references to Langan's which he established back in 1976 I think.
Cracker situation right across from Green Park underground station & just one stop from Piccadilly Circus for Shows. We look forward to our return visit next year - we are kiwi visitors.
I have been visiting Langans since it opened - always great and somehow the standard has been maintained over all those years.
The staff were very attentive without being intrusive, the atmosphere is relaxed and extremely welcoming.
The food is excellent and you must try there cocktails!
I always enjoy Langan’s. I can’t resist the spinach soufflé with the anchovy sauce for starters - it’s just delightful. The choice of mains is excellently British and very strong on fish (the fish pie is a signature dish). I had the duck which was cooked to perfection and served with stuffing and apple sauce.
Staff polite and helpful. Food was excellent, had a drink in the bar before dinner, given menu so we had time to decide what to order. First visit overall experience good, would definitely have dinner here again.
Attended for husbands birthday is was pleasant convivial atmosphere. The starters were lovely (best spring roll I have ever had) and my husband enjoyed his veal. But the chicken I had as mains was tasty but on the tough side. We enjoyed ourselves and would probably go back.
The anchovy spinach souffle is awesome!! That is the reason we go to Langan's Brasserie.
Highly recommend the experience, however the staff are the hovering type so don't be intimidated if you feel rushed. Wonderful, wonderful restaurant, we have been going for years!! Enjoy it!!
Had a very pleasant evening with Great British food. Spinach soufflé was outstanding and all the food was cooked to perfection. For an iconic restaurant, the prices aren't outrageous and the excellent wines are not overpriced for Mayfair. But why oh why do they add a £2/person cover charge. Absolutely pathetic. One other point is that the restaurant is extremely noisy. While it has great ambiance, I could barely here my dinner guest across the table and there was no chance of a conversation among 4 people
Always a pleasure to dine at Langans. Food, service and ambience very good. Especially enjoy the Caesars Salad. The best in town. Sadly, I miss the original artwork which has now disappeared :(
Excellent food, service and all round dining experience.
Still lively after all these years! Good food, friendly service.
Really enjoyed our celebration lunch here. Food was really good and the service was excellent. Thank you!
Great place for business or pleasure. I highly recommend this restaurant having been over the last 20 years! Perfect!
Had not been since it changed hands . Food still great and had the same buzz. Cocktails before were very good. Only minor point is that the service was not as attentive as before. Seemed lack of waiting staff. Still had a great evening
As always good food great service and a real buzz to a very good restaurant
Really enjoyable lunch, made to feel very welcome. Will be back
Great in every way..shame it closes on Sundays. It still has its magic.
We had an outstanding dinner, in a traditional setting.
Came to London to Celebrate my girlfriends birthday it was her 37th. We had a great time the food was amazing and the service was very good, great atmosphere
Standards persist. Good food and service. Lovely place, and fun.
We’ve been to Langan’s several times. The food has been consistent and good. The service this visit was very disappointing. Besides having many waiters standing around being inattentive, we were billed for 3 charges for making an online reservation (any charges for this were a surprise but there were only 2 of us so 3 was just wrong), wine by the glass was ordered and we were charged for a full bottle. And while both incorrect charges were corrected, no one was very sorry about their errors. This visit will cause us to rethink continuing our regular visits when in London.
My sister and I took my mum for her 70th Birthday and we all agreed it was one of the nicest restaurants we’ve ever been to - and we’ve been to many around the world! The customer services was exceptional, our waiter (Tim) was excellent. Attentive without being intrusive. The food was delicious. The best thing for us was how all the team were happy and friendly! Classy and understated. Highly recommend and will definitely be back!
Unfortunately our experience was spoilt by the ineptitude of our waiting staff. I ordered wine and twice after a considerable wait was informed that they didn’t have the wine I had chosen, eventually it was third time lucky. They then struggled to remove the cork and once they had managed to spill wine all over my wife’s wine glass and the table. They then forgot my wife’s side dish. Which when it arrived was undercooked and not seasoned. A shame as it that it spoilt what should have been an enjoyable experience.
Excellent food. Good service (though a little patchy). Noisy but good ambience. Very limited gluten free menu.
Food was great but a little bland.
Very good food and excellent service made for a most delightful dinner. We especially appreciated the complimentary desert plate presented to us in celebration of our wedding anniversary. The beef roast with vegetables and potatoes was most tasty, and the Langan's chablis a good wine recommendation by the waiter.
Prices are a bit high, but that is to be expected in Central London. We would definitely return to Langan's Brasserie.
We were at Langans for a 40th birthday meal and as usual we found the food, service and ambience at its usual excellent standard.
To us there is something special about Langans which makes it a great place for either a meal for two or as in this case a party meal for 10.
I,m pleased to say that Langan's has not changed one little bit in the 30 years that i've been going.
Excellent friendly service from all of the staff ,good food and a lovely atmosphere
I hope to be dining there for next 30 years
Well done Langan's please don't ever change
From the moment we walked in we had really fabulous service, the atmosphere was very relaxed and as this was our first time we did not know what to expect, but all the staff could not have been more welcoming, the menu was excellent, our choice of the scotch beef fillet and the breast of chicken were perfect and the rhubarb panna cotta was absolutely fantastic.
Overall a really superb food experience, 10 x better than the Shard, would we go again , in a flash .
Finally a thank you to all the staff that night ,you made it a perfect birthday evening.
Great venue and buzzing atmosphere.
Simple, early dinner. Restaurant was quiet at 6pm . Our food was very well cooked and seasoned, from excellent ingredients. Good choice of drinks by the glass too.
Shank of Lamb was very tender but lacked any flavour.
What a place !
Had forgotten what a treat it is to have dinner @ Langan's.
Atmosphere was great, food and wine good as always.
Service was amazing.
Our waiter had asked us if we were celebrating and I confessed that it was our Wedding Anniversary.
After we had finished our main course, he brought us mini-puddings served on a plate with ' Happy 35th Anniversary ' piped in chocolate '
A very special evening !
This was our first visit to the restaurant (following recommendation from a friend) and we had travelled to London from the Lake District for the marathon the following day. After booking on Open Table I rang the restaurant to request a nice table as it was my husband's birthday. We did indeed have a lovely table in the middle of the restaurant and were delighted when at the end of the meal, our waiter brought a plate of petit fours with a candle and the words "Happy Birthday" in chocolate. There was a superb atmosphere, the food was absolutely delicious (recommend the steak pie, fish cakes and strawberry pavlova) and the service exceptional. We truly enjoyed the experience and will certainly be back the next time we are in the capital. Thank you so much.
Didn’t have the greatest table but food was fabulous as were the cocktails. Our waiter could not have been lovelier. Really polite, friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Would recommend.
Great service, great food and a fantastic ambience. We were celebrating our son’s engagement and as soon as the staff found out they made the dinner really special even serving up a congratulatory dish for the couple. They even took photographs for us. Great evening; thanks very much.
‘‘Twas my daughters birthday. So I booked my husband and daughter in for an after shopping treat.
They came home and raved about how lovely it was how good the staff were and how they’d like to go back.
So I’d recommend to everyone
