What Insiders Are Saying
For your next special occasion/fancy night out dinner in SoHo, consider the French fine dining at Le Coucou.
The server served everything together . We ordered eggs , avocado toast and pancakes . Pancakes went cold . Tye entire experience was spoilt because of the cold pan cakes .
Classic French cooking with modern twist
Gran servicio, lugar muy bonito y comida espectacular.
Great staff, great restaurant. The chef was extremely nice. I went there with my six month old baby and they were so nice to my child. My family and I were really happy with the place.
Once again had a wonderful evening at Le Coucou. The service is warm, low key but attentive. The room is beautiful and the food is excellent. A very special place.
Superlative in every way — food, service, atmosphere. One of NYC’s best restaurants, which is to say it’s world-class.
Outstanding and spectacular !
Wonderful ambiance. Inconsistent food. Expensive. I met a friend from out of town there for lunch. Food was hit or miss. Of the 5 items we ordered 2 were delicious, 2 were below average, 1 was OK.
Although I made the reservation to another day, they were able to arrange us a table .. So I am grateful as it would ruin our commencement day with my son !
The flower on my table was dead, ridiculous
The waitress was having a bad day. She dropped a coffee cup, then a knife, then wished us happy birthday instead of anniversary. Her colleagues knew it was an anniversary.
The food was delicious and exactly what one would expect of an one star French restaurant. The service was great and the whole restaurant is just screams the perfect Sunday date with your SO or family gathering for a happy celebration. for all occasions. One thing that I particularly want to point out is their delicious bread. Definitely filled myself up a little too much before the main course because the sunflower seed baguette was just too delicious to stop.
The most attentive staff
The red wine was brought to is very chilled
I write about food for national publications, and won a James Beard award for this work. Having said that, for my time and money there's simply no better French restaurant in NYC. I love Le Bernadin and Daniel, and I even like Per Se, but what Le CouCou brings to the table are engagement with the guest through service that is thoughtful and approachable; refined classics with focus and a few, extremely well-sourced ingredients; restraint on plates; a pace of service that is attuned to the room as well as anticipatory; great value for what you are eating; informality with grace; and, reliability. It was my 4th visit to Le CouCou, and for sure I look forward to returning regularly.
Atmosphere was elegant. The service was excellent. Extensive wine list. Great evening
Every bit of what we expected. Fine service, food in a relaxed quiet setting.
Our anniversary lunch was more than satisfactory. Ok it was a little out of the way for us ( we were staying upper East side) with the $30 UBER ride to Soho. Ethan our waiter was very helpful and gave firm and on the money advice about quenelles and second growth value in Bordeaux. The view of the kitchen will appeal to some but might be a personal choice for others. Overall a very pleasant and enjoyable 2 hours.
Great food, great service, great atmosphere.
Great dining experience.Beautiful restaurant.I will definitely return.
Everything was perfect!
Server was snobby. Food not much to rave about although the knife skills were impressive. Overblown, overpriced and overhyped. Sommeliers to pour wine was a nice touch but the wine list is ridiculously snotty
Consistently outstanding!! Our favorite place in NYC!!!
Vinegar was the predominant flavor in what should have been a delicate dish. Not very good
Most luxury overall restaurant I have been (not only in New York but most of cities around the world).
Beautiful restaurant. Menu needs to be updated. Wine list is obnoxious. Hard pressed to find bottles under $200. Great service.
Fabulous atmosphere, new tastes. Filet was divine, oxtail potatoes amazing. Worth the price, but definitely not everyday dining, great special occasion meal
Service and food outstanding and ambience delightful and this was for breakfast! Can’t wait to go back for dinner!
Very fun evening. Beautiful space and extremely tasty food.
Heard great things about this place and it did not disappoint...! Lovely food, cocktails and staff.
Le CouCou was written up as a top 20 by Condé Nast. I was able to get a bookkng on open table. As an interior designer, I was spell bound by the charming bar at reception and the gorgeous mural. The bar tender was Uber professional and hand made drinks while they readied our table. Service was out of this world as were the dishes. All four of us agreed it was one of our best NYC experiences. The open kitchen is fascinating to watch and a beauty as well! The wine was outstanding. Treat yourself to the two course pre fix bruch!😍🍎❤️‼️
The food was really, really good but it (and the wine) was outrageously expensive. Great for a special occasion but otherwise I learned that they are open for breakfast and lunch since they are part of a hotel - so maybe other opportunity to try the food!
Another wonderful meal at this great French restaurant. We especially and highly recommend the oyster, quenelle and fried veal’s head appetizers and the bavette steak, bouillabaisse and halibut entrees. And the decor, service and wines are also fabulous. Enjoy!!!
This restaurant is our favorite when visiting NYC. Worth every penny.
Overpriced and pretentious. Minimal menu choices.
Beautiful Room. Highly Professional Service. Food was not up to standards.
We booked Le Coucou for my 30th birthday while visiting NYC and it did not disappoint! The initial lady at the door was a bit rude, but once at the table the service was excellent and our waitress was very helpful and happy to answer our questions. When I booked I indicated it was for a birthday and they actually remembered, bringing out dessert with a lit candle which was such a nice touch and made my evening. Each dish was delicious - we had the leeks, salmon, sweetbreads and duck to share. Pricey but we enjoyed it. Thank you!
It was a beautiful dining experience. Everything- the dishes and the ambiance- were lovely.
After 6 meals at this most Extraordinary spot, I'm convinced it is, hands down, the finest restaurant in town.
