It is difficult to define exactly what l’Gueuleton means but the words ‘feast’, ‘food’, ‘family’, ‘friends’ and of course ‘wine’ help us to understand a concept that is inherently French. Since 2004 l’Gueuleton has served French Bistro cuisine at its finest. Combining quality Irish produce with French flair, l’Gueuleton offers a fantastic menu, matched with a perfectly balanced selection of wines.

Situated on the ground floor of the old Fade Street Tenements l’Gueuleton is a combination of exposed red brick walls, industrial beams, copper ceilings and wood floors.

    Went for dinner at 4pm on a Friday afternoon over Christmas and the venue was so Christmassy, food was delicious and the staff couldn't do enough. Dinner was fairly priced would defo return.

    We had a reunion of five college friends and all really enjoyed it. If I had a nitpick it was that the mussels didn’t come with fries! But everyone else had more than enough to share! I love this restaurant. Staff are fabulous! Thank you.

    We booked for 3 0'C Wednesday Dec 6th. There were four of dining. Starters for 2 salmon gravalax and beef tartare. The beef tartare was great. The salmon gravlax was boring, thinking back now there was no gravlax sauce taste at all. For mains we had one Hake dish and 3 Gnocchi. One didn't eat hers, another ate half, I finished mine because I was starving, it was glutinous globs of potato and hard going to finish. Two Whiskey Sours two glasses of wine, two pints and two glasses bill came to 225€ rounded up to 250€ for the pleasant services. We would not return if you paid us.

    Booked for 4 people. Asked for set menu as advertised on website. Was told that was for tables with large parties. "I'll ask my manager". Waiter came back, a little indignant, with the set menus. Ordered the food, 3 hake which were very small fillets, extras for fries. Not really surprised that the restaurant was pretty empty. We were there from 6:30 - 8:45. I've be going here for many years, but I won't be going back.

    Dinner was great! We were well looked after! Our table was moved from 7:30pm to 7:00pm a few weeks in advance of our booking. The manager told us he would give us two cocktails to make up for the move. When the bill came the cocktails were removed without anything being said, it was very smooth!

    The French Onion soup was beautiful as always and the Guinea fowl was lovely. Very friendly staff from start to finish.

    We’ve always loved l’Gueuleton which has a special place in our heart but to be honest this time it has disappointed. I had the Venison served with a very dry and tasteless sort of potatoe gratin, almost unateble, my husband had the 40€ steak which you expect spot on for that price. It it was quite fatty and average, served with fries that were overcooked. The bill was brought on the table without us asking or even having finished our desert… we felt rushed to leave and not appreciated at all, only here to drop money and leave asap so that others would pay and leave. Let alone the prices are quite high so you expect some respect over your meal and time. A really not so cool experience, which is a shame as this was our go to place for a nice time usually. They might be no next time.

    We were a table of 4 and had a great night. I had the tartare of beef which was superb and venison cooked to perfection. The only note I would make is that the menu is a bit limited with 4 starters and 4 or 5 mains.

    Really nice restaurant but too expensive for what it is. I got gnocchi and it was €27. While it was nice, it was not worth the premium price they are charging.

    Food is good- we had Hake (excellent) & steak ( just good) .The menu is very limited and & could do with a shake up - didnt have a starter as there wasn't anything that we wanted , steak is expensive considering its quality. Staff are v professional & efficient. Nice atmosphere as usual .

    We visited on a quiet Sunday night and the standard of food and service was excellent - not easy to deliver when the staff had probably had a very busy week. The maître d' was super and set the tone. We enjoyed ourselves.

    We enjoyed our first visit to l’Gueuleton very much. Staff very friendly & surroundings very nice. My one issue would be that the Hake main meal was expensive at €29 for a relatively small portion. The French onion soup as a starter was the best ever tho

    Really enjoyed our visit to Gueleton. Absolutely delicious food and great service. It's a little expensive but given the quality of the food and service we were happy to pay it. We ordered the scallops to start and steam and hake for mains followed by a pumpkin dessert. Everything was melt in the mouth delicious. It's rare to go out and get food so good. We'll be back

    Service was too rushed, didn’t have enough time to relax between starter and main. The food was very good although seems to have jumped in price quite a bit. Otherwise an enjoyable meal.

    Lovely relaxed restaurant, it was a Monday late lunch so was quiet when we were there. Food was good, limited selection but enough for a choice. Staff were perfect, there but not overly present. I would go again.
