Food excellent as always, and service random as always! Come for the food, stay for the eccentric wait staff and haphazard service :)
Excellent service , excellent food. Will 100% go back!
Amazing staff. Great food. Perfect location.
I commend there on Thursday at a table near the bar. A glass fell from the bar smashed and some landed on our table. Not even an apology or offered to be moved elsewhere. When the table cleared we found a huge lump of glass on the table. We both work in financial services and were considering it for a department night out but when there are so many nicer Venu that don't stick broken glass on our table why would I bother. I was so very disappointed
Enjoyed our visit to L’gueuleton. Found the noise level very high so quite difficult to have conversation with friends. Nice vibe though. Food was beautiful although my husband ordered the beef and found it quite grizzly.
Staff super helpful and friendly. The menu didnt match the one online which threw our vegan diner. As did the "no substitutions or deletions" I'd recommend either including a vegan option onto the menu or stating substitutions may be made within reason.
We had a family weekend brunch here, all ages were happy with the venue. Music was a bit loud at the start but was lowered as we got our food and the place filled up. Food was fantastic, service was friendly and everyone had a great time.
As always the service is good and staff are friendly. The food was amazing and the bottle of wine we had was reasonably priced.
Fab service, fab food = perfect 😎
Food was excellent, couldn't fault it. Beef bourgignin was superb and the French onion soup. Staff were friendly but a little inattentive, had to ask for water and nobody asked how we found the food or if everything was OK, after each course and were slow to get the bill. Chair are a little uncomfortable and could use a cushion. Other than that it's a nice restaurant, little pricey but the food quality is excellent.
They no longer do an early bird. The food is a lot more expensive than it used to be at almost €30 for each main. Starters are €13/14 which is very pricey.
We had 2 mains and suddenly the bill was put on the table, when I booked it stated 2 hours for 2 people, we arrived at 5.30. The bill arrived at 6.45 without us asking for it. Thought this was rude. Food was very nice
Food was amazing, service was incredible and the staff were so nice
Very good but could do with more vegetarian options.
We were greeted immensely we arrived and given a choice of tables. Staff were friendly and efficient. Our lunch was lovely and served quickly, which is important at lunch time. It has been awhile since we were there but won’t be leaving it as long TIL we visit again
Excellent restaurant staff atmosphere and food were amazing.
nice waiting staff, but the food was average, one starter nice, the other lacking taste, the steak mains was grizzly, while the other partridge mains was left under the heat lamp for a few minutes too long unfortunately..overall it was overpriced - without coffees or desserts, the bill came to nearly €200.. there's much better value and much better food to be had elsewhere in dublin these days, and not too far away.. sorry! criostoir..
Had a lovely lunch with friends. They could not be more accommodating as our party size was increased by 2 on the day. Gorgeous food too. Definitely recommend l'Gueuleton
Got recommended this place from Work colleagues so was keen to book this for a work event.
Disappointed that we got give then set menu even thought there were only 8 of us.
Staff were ok, not the friendliest, and rushed us out. Not ideal. Food was tasty and a great selection of drinks
I love this place, really nice atmosphere, the food is just delicious and the staff are great fun, but best of all, try and book a late sitting because at the end of the night they clear out the tables and a DJ starts banging out classic dance tunes
The food was really good but unfortunately the service was not on par. We order our food, wine and water together. Their was a delay with the water and wine and we just thought they were busy so there was a bit of a delay but 15 minutes passed and still no sign. Our starters actually arrived and we still had no drinks. The person who bought our starters ended up having to get our wine and water, not our waiter. Our waiter clearly forgot. The same happened with the coffees we ordered with dessert. We could see them on the counter, our desserts had been dropped, so we actually reminded the waiter. He continued to pour water for other tables he was looking after instead of getting our coffees. We had to eyeball him as a reminder. We decided to go elsewhere for drinks so asked for the bill. We paid in cash and there was change due. We saw it being cashed off but no sign of the change coming back. We were waiting for 20 minutes for the change to come back and through repeated glancing. It was being kept as an assumed tip which should be our decision. We were really disappointed. The food was so good and the service use to be the same. L'Gueuleton's waiting staff are definitely letting the kitchen staff down here. I would be reluctant to go back. Shame
Really nice night in restaurant.
Food and staff were lovely. Tables a bit to close for comfort
Spent all day here and was fantastic. Once night game was booted out the second they could
Lovely lovely food everything on the plate was beautifully made
We had a fabulous meal and wine. Truly delicious. The panacotta was amazing. Staff really warm with good service. highly recommend if visiting Dublin
Really good food x
The service was outstanding, our meal was not just a thing of beauty but tasted amazing and the atmosphere was fantastic, I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a fantastic meal in a relaxed environment
Fabulous as per usual! Food is just so good in l’Gueuleton!
For us the main question in any review would be "will you return" and in this case the answer is a definite no. French Onion soup was what I considered salty and watery but the best of what we had to eat. We each ordered the ribeye steaks at 31 euro each about 10oz weight. (Retail cost in my local butcher 21 euro per kilo). Both steaks came undercooked one to the point of being inedible. Whilst we were not charged for that we would have preferred to have a meal we could enjoy and happy to pay for it. After all a steak has to be one of the easiest things to cook and so if they can't get that right then what hope. Really disappointed especially as it was recommended by a friend but sadly typical of what we now experience on Dublin restaurants. The good times don't always mean good things.
The overall was okay, the food was nice and great ambiance but the service was very poor to be honest.
We have been to L'Gueuleton a number of time over the years and have always enjoyed the experience however we were extremely disappointed on out last visit. When we arrived the waiter pointed in the direction of where we were to be seated instead of showing us to the table. The service was really poor, the waiter again seemed very disinterested and didn't communicate very much at all with us, we didn't get everything we ordered. The quality of food we did get was below standard for which we mentioned to one of the other waiters (they deducted it from our bill but I would have rather got decent food and paid for it) When we went to the count to pay our bill the lady who took the payment never made any commented on whether or not we enjoyed the food, thank you, etc.
Will we return?....I think not.
Food was really incredible. It was very busy so the service took a bit too long. I will go back though.
Very pleasant evening with lovely food and helpful, friendly staff. My only quibble was that my Eton Mess was deconstructed and when I asked that it be mashed up I had to do it myself!
Second time to try for brunch. Food is really great but service is shocking. Both times found staff arrogant and like they couldn't be bothered if we were there or not. Pity as food was good but won't be back.
Great service, fantastic food and outside space (peaceful but still great for people watching). Extra gold star for not seeing one Instagram obsessed dinner (although the food and the location were worthy). Will be back for sure!
Incredible food, friendly and helpful staff and great atmosphere. Looking forward to my next trip back already!
Disappointing food compared to last visit .
Service was very good but obviously Sunday evening is the real chefs night off !
Lovely, casual restaurant. Had the ribeye – so tasty. Also, enormous! Lady who waited on our table was warm, friendly and chilled. Definitely recommend, for two or for large groups.
Food, service etc all perfect. Nothing on the menu to dislike - making it rather tricky to decide! Looking forward to visiting again soon
I always find l'Gueuleton a very pleasant option when we are in Dublin for a day. While I might only eat here once a year, twice at most, the memory of the beautiful meal brings me back again. This time we opted for the mini dessert with coffee. Am inclined to think I will revert to full dessert next time. Perhaps that is due to taste of goat's cheese on cheesecake. Service very attentive and was delighted to be seated in the brightness of the window area. A most pleasant two hours.
Great place for a slightly fancier than normal lunch, dinner, drink. The food is great and the staff are fantastic, so friendly and capable.
