Though advertising a Coolinary menu, it was not offered. Additionally, they had a very small, limited menu, and a few items were unavailable. I spent $60 on two drinks and a sandwich (which was inedible, though my review is not based on my disappointment in my meal). The hostess was rude and disinterested, and our waitress, though nice enough, was very slow. I love dining out, and I’ve always enjoyed Luke, but after this experience, I won’t return for quite awhile, if ever.

Oysters and shrimp were great. Gumbo was flavorless, shrimp and sausage were tough and rubbery. The manager was very apologetic and polite and replaced it. Hamburgers were ho hum. Buns were dry and too thick with too much lettuce and under ripe tomatoes.

This is one of our favorite restaurants for food and atmosphere. Maybe last night was a little unusual But we had a brand-new server in training who forgot to bring out the cake and sing happy birthday for our event. That was a bit disappointing. They were also slow on getting our drink orders. Nevertheless, the food was fabulous

This place was “good” but not “great”. Our service was AMAZING! She gave recommendations and helped us decide on some solid dishes. The Shrimp Etouffe is delicious and the Shrimp and Grits are okay, because something tasted off. The dessert made it for us though. The bread pudding with homemade ice cream is TO DIE FOR! If we ever come back, it will be for dessert.

I was disappointed from my last visit and impressions of Luke’s. We went their based on connivence and past history. It was for an anniversary and we won’t rush back. Luke Burger had grissle and for the price should not. Too much cheese on burger and cheesy grits side. The fried pork entree was not overwhelming either.

Found it very overrated. Shrimp and grits at 29.99 had 4 small shrimp and very small portion. Not very warm either. Chicken had way too many beans as an accompaniment rather than other vegetables- beans are cheap. Burgers were solid.

With all the good reviews and was surprised to be disappointed when we visited. Right of the bat the hostess was very cold and told us to “step aside” so she could help the people behind us first. When we got to our table it was almost comical how bad of a location it was in the restaurant. Next to the kitchen, server kiosk, and with a view of an industrial garbage can. The food was the highlight of the night and we would have ordered more drinks and desert but our waitress was no where to be found and never checked on us after getting our order (a runner brought or food) and we had to waive someone down to finally get the check. Overall dissatisfied and was really expecting better with all the beaming reviews.

We wanted to enjoy oysters and fresh seafood in The Big Easy for our last dinner, and Luke’s delivered. The smoked trout dip and raw oyster selection were big hits and the shrimp and grits as an entree was also declared “amazing.” This place is definitely small yet busy and full with dinner and bar customers seated nearby each other. Our service was fast and responsive and overall if you want fresh seafood in the crescent city, Luke’s is great place with a bustling feel to it. We’ll be back on our next visit!
