   From pre dinner drinks in the bar to dinner in the attic, the service was on point. Dinner was amazing and our host awesome making sure allergies were catered for. At the end of the night staff even organized a cab for us when they saw we were struggling to get a ride share home.

   The service was exceptional - the staff were so attentive. The atmosphere was great (beautiful building, quiet, comfortable furnishings) and the location was central.

   Great restaurant. Could potentially get too noisy for those that might be at smaller tables with bigger tables being arranged nearby. The high celling in the upstairs area we were in helps, but the noise still travels. Food was also great and service was very good, but would be interesting to see what it would be like during a much busier setting. Prices were up there, although being in the CBD, it's expected. Would be happy to visit again.

   Quality was good, but you can't pretend it is upmarket food simply by doing tiny portions.Cpnsidering the restaurant was empty, our meals shouldnt have taken 40 minutes to prepare. Another restaurant that is all pretension with no substance.

   WOW! We went there for their set menu with my parents and husband. This place is amazing, honestly - they were more than happy to accommodate to our dietary requirements. My dad has coeliac and can't eat gluten at all, and he was able to eat everything with confidence!! Definitely recommend.

    I booked a table but when we arrived there was no table ready even the restaurant was quite empty. We were put on a bench seat and their were crumbs all over the bench which was going to be cleaned off but wasn't. No bread served. Took ages for anyone to take a drinks order. Not the usual experience.

    Incredible food and delicious, creative cocktails. We had the best time last night. Cannot thank you (FOH and BOH) enough for taking note of our dietary requirements and making adjustments as necessary so that we could enjoy a range of the menu options. When the server (I regret not catching her name) came to us with an amended menu just for us, I could have cried. Eating out can be difficult for me but you made this such a special evening. Thank you so much. We will be telling everyone about how wonderful Malt is and will be back soon!

    We chose to have the $89 set menu and added an additional entree of the burrata. Our waitress was very very good even though she told us she had only been working there for a couple of weeks. Our initial drink order of cocktails took a long time to come out & arrived at the table at the same time as our first course & matched wines, a little disappointing. Would have been good for the food to be held back until we had finished our cocktails. The food was all tasty and the brisket outstanding but I felt it lacked a little of that special fine dining finesse that I had experienced at this restaurant previously.

    Great food and something a bit special. Only criticism would be that we had to keep asking for water and the waitress forgot to bring out the wine for one course, but the food was a little bit different and very yum!

    Exceeded expectations. The set menu was more than enough for the 2 of us and the value for money was excellent for the quality/quantity of food received. Attentive, polite staff kept our glasses filled and the food coming. Highly recommended.

    The ambience was wonderful. The food was outstanding - the 16 hour slow cooked brisket was superb. The wait staff were attentive and incredibly helpful. I am looking forward to returning to try more dishes.

    Table at 5:30pm was a perfect choice for a quiet dinner for 2. By the time we left it got a bit noisier. Food and service were magnificent and the matching wine worked a treat. This place never disappoints.

    Malt Dining has excellent food and prompt service. The staff are friendly and helpful and even remember your favourite meal and how you like it cooked. It is not too noisy- easy to talk without having to raise you voice to be heard. Price is reasonable. I recommend Malt to my friends.

    We had the tasting menu which was reasonable but not a standout. Given that many in the restaurant were eating this menu, the lack of knowledge about the food from the wait staff was disappointing. I did smile when I asked where an ingredient had come from and the confused waiter waved vaguely at the kitchen. Perhaps his lack of English – and he was not the only one – contributed here. And who knew that Cremant had become an actual wine region rather than a description of the non-champagne variety of bubbly wine! Finally, the approach is to have food on one plate where diners then divide up this food between them. This has several consequences: food arrangement is neglected; inexplicably servings for two people come out with an odd number of portions; some of the accompanying elements are over done with oils and creams while others are surprisingly lovely. It was a clever menu selection however, with all of the elements bar one or two preprepared and not cooked to order. This did speed course progression but the impact on the range of elements and textures and thus flavours was limited as a result.
