What Insiders Are Saying
Marea is about as good as upscale eating gets in Midtown, and there’s a lot of that around. Don’t miss the bone marrow and octopus fusilli.
Chef’s tasting menu is amazing!! I think I just found my favorite restaurant! Definitely get the Ricci, crudo, and fusilli!!
Excellent service. Food was very good not outstanding
Unfortunately customers are a necessity not something that is welcome and clearly is popular because of its location
It certainly doesn't deserve the accolades
Can’t really rate. The restaurant was shut down due to power shut down by con Edison. Will try to book it next week.
We really enjoy this 'treat' restaurant! The seared scallops are a standout dish! The raw fish appetizers are very small portions, but the flavors are good. Mini-gnocchi were plentiful & tasty. Entrees were nice, scallops great! Well executed & tasty, but no 'wow' factor.
My fiance and I had an amazing experience at Marea celebrating her birthday. The food was delicious, without a doubt. We thoroughly enjoyed every dish we tried (which were multiple). But what really blew us away was the impeccable service. From the second we walked into the door, every staff member - from the host stand to the sommelier and of course our awesome waitress - was focused on making it a truly unique and enjoyable experience for us. Highly recommended!
Best food and experience ever! Loved the lobster ravioli!!
Our usual annual trip, always consistently great food and service. We love it.
Went there for lunch today and it was like always outstanding. The food, the service, the Decor are all top notch and must be experienced to truly understand the quality and wow factor.
Very special experience for my long-term girlfriend's birthday dinner. Well done, and we look forward to returning. Thank you for a wonderful evening.
Great experience. The only comment that I have which is not a huge deal is the number of people around the tables. I know each one of the personnel has a function but there are too many of them walking around and it gets too crowded sometimes.
Food was pretty bland. It was a bummer. Staff was really nice.
Food was unique and tasty. Not your typical Italian dishes. Wanted to love it due to rave reviews but the staff seemed a little too pretentious. Service was attentive but not welcoming.
Dinner entrees and side dishes were good; wild mushroom side dish was delicious. Desert (Semifreddo) was a bit underwhelming- tasted a little bit heavy and the flavors got lost. Otherwise, a place with an inviting and relaxing ambiance with attentive service and a beautiful dining room. Will be back.
Super service and the fusilli with bone marrow and octopus is delicioso My partner did not like her pasta and, without us even requesting it, another pasta, gnocchi with shrimp, was brought to her. It was also delicious. Did not try the fish, other than crudo, which was very tasty but too small for the price. The sommelier recommended an excellent Italian wine which was, for the restaurant, reasonably priced. Their breads are fresh, extremely tasty and plentiful. We needed to ask for olive oil.
As New Yorkers, this is too expensive for good Italian food but sometimes ya gotta be a tourist in your own city.
It’s overall good and tasty, especially the pasta and crab salad. But the seats is a little busy. And after the appetizer one servant cleaned the table by pushing crumbs to the floor...
We go here every time in town. This time we took our 6 year old with us. The staff was amazing. From our waiter John to the rest of the staff they are accommodating and were great with my daughter.
Service uneven. Waiter seemed inexperienced. Food was good but not great. Only one of the three pastas we ordered was served hot
Top 10 meals I have ever had.
Highly recommend ! I would like to there again!!!!!
Tasty and expensive
By far the best restaurant in the city.
We were very pleased with the menu choices for the 4 course meal. The food was excellent. The service was great too. We can’t wait to go back.
The food was not the same as before.
never disappointed, but today I disappointed for the first time.
Food took forever. Servers were new and didn’t seem to have understanding of menu. Have eaten there many times. Will be a while before I go back or recommend.
A hard to get Rez, crowded bar, and we were seated exactly on time and had a sublime dining experience.
This place always amazes me. We come to New York at least twice a year and we eat here at least one night while visiting Everything and everyone is so amazing we are always wowed
Thanks so much for an amazing experience
Great service and incredible food!
Excellent restaurant and food
The food was amazing, and the service was nice
Excellent service, impeccable food. Worth it every penny.
Attentive and professional service. Management stopped by twice. Food is excellent!
Normally I would rate Marea with 4 or 5 stars but service this time was poor. We had to continually ask for a waiter and there were 3 different waiters who ended up helping us but no one took charge.
Amazing food, great restaurant
Fantastic, ambience, service and food was very very fine!
Amazing. Perfect for a birthday dinner. Get that octopus bone marrow pasta. Do it.
