This traditional restaurant opened its doors in 2009 as a tribute to our grandmother Maria Corona, born in Mexico City in 1917. The history of the Corona family is extremely interesting, dates from the time of the General Ramon Corona who, during the French intervention played a fundamental role in the fall of the Emperor Maximilian. This restaurant is the guardian of the traditional techniques of mestizo cuisine, with flavors and recipes dating back to the times of the Mexican Independence until the beginning of the twentieth century. Dedicated to our grandmother Maria Corona born in 1916 in Mexico City, here you will find her traditional recipes along with her cooking secrets as they’ve been handed down from generation to generation. Fantastic dinner for our anniversary. Due to the rainy season we pretty much got the place to ourselves. Our server Pedro and his assistant Angeles were perfect. So much food! So good! Would recommend.

Went here on our honeymoon 10 years ago and again last night to celebrate our anniversary. Still amazing food and wonderful staff! Highly recommend the table side cheese fondue appetizer!!

Upon arrival had to wait to park, staff uses the reserve spots and took a long time to move, some menu items were not available, The ceviche trio was bad two of them tasted bitter as if they were spoiled The mole and empanadas were good The place was empty lots of staff but only one lady was checking on us our server stopped twice maybe 3 times to our table Super expensive not worth the price

This used to be one of my go to spots when visiting Cabo. Been visiting since before when it was a small hole in the wall. I have to say this place has become a tourist trap. Over priced food and drinks not worth it. The show used to be more intimate and felt authentic. Now its a small scale want to be version of Xcaret. Its too bad really as the shows prior were just fine. This restaurant is trying too hard and is missing the charm it once had. Its a shame, but its coming off my list of restaurants to visit while in Cabo.

It was a very hot day, and so not many people were out eating lunch. We enjoyed the superior service even though it was a slow day. Never felt rushed. Always people nearby if we needed anything. Food was really good. We got table side guacamole and it was excellent. I had carne Assada and it was cooked as ordered and delicious.

We wanted authentic original food and this place was recommended by someone local. We were greeted warmly and sat down in chairs that have seen a better day. Sitting so low it was uncomfortable to eat. We went with our servers recommendation and got a large margarita which we later found out was $25! The fondue was made by the table and process looked great but it solidified immediately on the plates and the rubbery hard goo had to be cut into pieces with a knife. Enchiladas were topped with the same cheese that we removed from the top since they solidified also and looked like a gooey mold of play doh, not as soft though. Inside of enchilada had more of the same cheese. They overpriced all to an unbelievable extent. For one appetizer, one main dish consisting of two enchiladas, one non alcoholic drink and one large margarita plus a bottle of water we paid close to a $100. Don't go there.

We’ve come here several times over the years and have like the food and the ambiance. Things have changed, and not for the better. Expensive for Mexican dinners. Our bill for 2 dinners ( not steak), 2 drinks, and guacamole was $115+ tip. The entertainment was loud and cringeworthy. Then the performers came around asking for tips. We will not be coming back.

We took our family here while on vacation and this was probably our favorite dining experience. The ambiance and entertainment was excellent. We shared the family meal for four and enjoyed the variety and quality of food. I usually don’t like mole but the chicken mole here was excellent. We are definitely coming back!

Lovely outdoor setting is a surprise in the busy town. Food is amazing, waitstaff quietly present but left us alone. Noisy only because there was entertainment that involved folk dances with lots of boot stomping, but it was quiet in between. This is our third time here and we will come back.

Fun,fun, fun. Entertainment on Saturday and Wednesday. We had a special seafood soup ( almost bouillabaisse-like) to share for an appetizer, and we’ll as ease a cheese fondue both done in molcajete stone bowls. Their house special margarita is made with cristallino tequila, Grand Marnier, and Cointreau. My daughter had to use 2 hands to drink hers! Chicken mole was superb, as were carnitas and the sea bass preparation was excellent. The staff was engaging and entertaining. But expect to pay, our cost came in at about $75/ person after taxes. My daughters commented it was one of the most fun dinners we have had on a vacation . My suspicion is the big cost driver was the margarita (they don’t put the drink prices on the menu). We will be back.

Service was excellent - Carlos was thorough and extremely helpful with our cocktail requests and explaining the menu. Our food was all very good, one got catch of the day, one carnitas and two shared the mole fiesta. Loved the ambiance.

A wonderful evening of food and entertainment. Alfonzo and Julio were our amazing servers. Food was authentic Mexican and wonderful. I recommend the sea bass if it’s available.

We've seen Maria Corona mentioned amongst expat favorites in Cabo, but this was our first visit. The menu had some very interesting choices; we had tableside guacamole, chicken mole, and chile rellenos - all were fantastic. At 7:15, they had some live performances that were excellent. All in all, we felt like it was a truly authentic experience rich in Mexican culture. We'll definitely return!

We have eaten there in the past and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The food was fantastic and the ambiance was great. Although this time we showed up and prices had quadrupled. One dinner plate was $140. One Margarita Margarita was $28. I'm not sure what happened to this wonderful restaurant. We will not be returning. We did have fantastic Tacos on the corner at a different restaurant.

Food was delicious. Although the fish was under cooked, it was quickly remedied. The area may look sketchy from the outside the inside is a stunning courtyard. There was even a great local show of dancing and mariachis. Prices were very reasonable.

A great special occasion spot for families. The show was great and our kids loved it. We ordered the meal for 4 and it could have fed 8. Went home with 4 leftover containers! A bit pricey, but overall a wonderful evening.

Took wife and four college sons tp this gem. Sat outside, and once seated, became a little worried that the nearby stage would be occupied later on. And it was, but WAY better than expected Alejandro was a joy. Singing quietly so I could enjoy our family conversation, but with a lot of personality. AND THE FOOD> We got the family plan which brought 4 appetizers and 4 generous main entrees and a plate of desserts served family style. The Doña Margarita was tops so we got several. As everywhere in Cabo, very friendly and enjoyable staff team. Block a good 2-2.5 hours for the terrace experience.

Maria Corona is such a wonderful restuarant in Cabo for the best, authentic Mexican cuisine on the Baja. The atmosphere, the service and meals are always the best of every trip to this city.
