I was dining with a friend who has several dietary needs, including gluten-free, and the chef personally made sure that her dish was prepared to meet all of those dietary needs. Very appreciative.

The patio is a fantastic place to enjoy freshly prepared food and an amazing view of the ocean! The staff at Mattone’s offer excellent service with a smile. We enjoyed the meatballs, gnocchi, and funghi pizza. Highly recommend!

We like this place and will for sure be back. The only thing is the ordering system.. Part of the fun and experience when going out for dinner is having a server that comes to your table to take your order. This is really missing imo. The ambiance is good although the music was a bit loud and the acoustics aren't the greatest as well. Overall, great restaurant and beautiful view.

We had eaten here before and it has been pretty good. This time however, we waited an hour and fifteen minutes for food. Some of the food was cold and sent out wrong. We were told that the chef was in Victoria because he didn’t think it would be busy( on a Thursday night going into a holiday weekend with a kids eat free promotion???) Service was meh….. I’m sure we will go back again at some point but will probably wait quite awhile because they seem to have some management and staffing issues they need to figure out first. If you go, I would definitely check that they are fully staffed for the evening!
