Menagerie Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Not seated in the restaurant, seated in the bar area even though we had booked the table. After 20minutes no one had offered us drinks. After 40 minutes no one had offered us drinks or asked us to order our food. We were unable to get anyone’s attention and so left.
Very very disappointed as this was my wife’s birthday and it was ruined.
Booked as a party of 4 at 3.30pm for my birthday. Food was delicious and the menu was varied. Staff were really lovely. Drinks are a bit pricey but nothing too exceptional. It's quite a loud environment though (even at that time in the afternoon )so I wouldn't recommend if you were going for a quiet meal.
Music was extremely loud so conversation wasn't an option. It was also very dark so we genuinely couldn't read the menu (not that lighting would have helped because the menu was completely incoherent). Service was very slow and our table was almost completely ignored. Food was alright, but quite overpriced for what it was. The only saving grace was the decor, which was very instagram-able, if not a bit pretentious.
Took my family on a night out on Monday 25th Sept to celebrate my mom's 60th birthday and we had loads of fun... I booked in advance while I was still in South Africa and all was worth the wait...the service was great, the food was just ok( I'm sure I've had better) but the service and ambience made up for it...i would definitely go there again...
Was a bit disappointment as I was hoping for a lovely 21st birthday meal with my boyfriend. The music was far too loud I couldn't hear my boyfriend sat right infront of me or the server. There was a large party of people behind who were very rowdy but left shortly after we got there. The seating was so close together I couldn't even get into my seat. However the food was amazing can't fault that and the service was ok. We were eating dessert when the server came over to say he needed us to pay as we had to leave the table now so we paid and left overall disappointment as I thought very highly of this place and it didn't live up to my expectations.
Amazing atmosphere and decoration is outstanding.
The service was fast and all staff were welcoming.
The two door staff were very friendly and professional.
The food was so good I had chicken cesar and it was perfect and so delicious.
The whole nice was just really good with fun pictures in the bath tub!
I will definitely come back and recommend to everyone.
the meal, drinks, entertainment and service was excellent. meal was at 7pm would have stayed longer but our table was near the bar and as we were sitting eating out dessert people from the bar were standing around us which was pretty awkward. if we were more in the restaurant we would have stayed and drank a lot longer but felt people were waiting for us to move. a bit of a let down as we really loved everything.
Food was ok, service was really not good. Waiting a long time for someone to take our order, then waiting a long time for drinks and then getting the drinks wrong. Wasn't overly impressed. It was a Tuesday night we visited too and wasn't exactly busy. Disappointing and wouldn't rush back.
5 out of 5 on everything, couldn't have picked a better place to have my anniversary meal. The waiter was nice and helpful, the food was incredible and to top it off we got complimentary anniversary desserts which put a smile on my partners face.
I highly recommend!
Booked for our daughters birthday, the service and the food was outstanding, finished off our meals with 'all the fun at the fair' for dessert, as it was my daughters birthday it came with sparklers and a happy birthday message which was a fabulous surprise!
Well at first the barman was to busy giving out high fives to a colleague when he knocked a class all over my wife's dress, fortunately it was black and not white! I don't think the staff did all they could given the situation. Still we didn't let it spoil he night and the venue, class and entertainment made up for it. We really enjoyed it and will return again
The greeting was either warm, friendly or professional.
I ordered the Romatica which on the menu states is made with Moet & Chandon champagne however I saw the the cocktail being made with prosecco.
The mixologist was very rude and generally seemed like he couldn't be bothered being there.
With so many lovely places to eat and drink in Manchester I certainly wont be going back to Menagerie nor will I recommend it to friends or colleagues.
Certainly a different night .
Great bar area , really good cocktails .
Food was another story ........
How difficult is it to supply food that is fresh , well presented and tasty .
We had the sea bass tempura with sweet potatoe fries ......honestly I could have done better myself with my deep fat fryer.
Entertainment , four out of ten .
We enjoyed the night , possibly a few too many cocktails , and even with the terrible food would give the place another go .
Absolutely fantastic night for my birthday here. The service and entertainment was excellent.
Such a good atmosphere and we weren't rushed at all. I went with the girls but will be back to take my husband. The only downside was that they add a charge of £5.00 per person for the entertainment onto the bill which seems a bit silly when the entertainment is on anyway and people are coming in for drink and not getting charge to watch it. Although, it would not put me off going again.
I've been here to eat before, around 4pm, and loved it !! The restaurant looks great and the music is brilliant. The menu is a little limited ... but the burger is great.
However, the thing that REALLY put me off this time was the 'entertainment'. By 9pm, I'd seen at least 2 of the woman entertainers strip off to just their knickers and jiggle about and it just doesn't seem fitting for so early on and whilst people are eating dinner. And what's more, you get charged an entertainment fee on top of your food bill too ... just not good enough Menagerie, a birthday celebration ruined.
The oddest night of my life!!!
Food was poor and overpriced but the music was great.
'World class entertainment' was odd - topless lady shaking her boobs about whilst stapling playing cards to her thighs - but it was absolutely hilarious.
Drinks - alright, nice cocktails. On the expensive side.
Is it a club, a restaurant....? no idea.
If your a foodie it's not for you. If you want to have a laugh, dance, line your stomachs and get trollied then it's for you.
Spent a fortune.
Had a great night.
Attended this establishment last night and never had such poor customer service anywhere.. we were booked onto a table at 7pm for my sisters 40th birthday. By 8.30 it was very clear we were being rushed through our meal (which was a table of 6 girls eating and drinking cocktails/prosecco) at 8.40 were asked if we would like desert which we were planning to order a £60 (extortionate) for a Ferris wheel.. to then be told we would have to eat it at the bar as they needed our table. (They therefore lost out on what would have been an extra £100 on our bill as desert and further drinks would have been purchased) The manner in which we were spoken to by a so called manager (debatable) was appalling we went outside for fresh air and were surrounded by a group of extremely aggressive and intimidating bouncers one of which physically man handled me which begs the question why do they need so many of them in the first place! The bill was eventually paid (after deducting the 'service' charge they cheekily added after all this fiasco) we tried reasoning with various members of the staff all of which were arrogant, unwilling to listen and down right rude! I think they would very much benefit from attending a customer service course. I shall never ever grace be doors of this place again not shall I recommend to any of my friends or family. In addition to this, the so called entertainment consisted of a woman dressed like a pink Fred and Emu and a fire eater .. hmmm glad I didn't part with £5 'entertainment fee' to see this disaster! Such a shame that this was supposed to be for special night celebrating and will now be remembered for all the wrong reasons.
