Menagerie Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Overall I can say my experience was amazing at menagerie restaurant. A lady named Holly served us and she was so so sweet and provided a lovely service to us. However we really wanted to come for afternoon tea but we tried ringing days before and no one picked up. So we had to just go along with our table booked and have desserts instead.
My initial impression wasn’t great to be honest, the table was wobbly (but the waitress did move us to a better table), some of the chairs and decor looked a bit tired and there was lipstick smeared on my menu! That said, the rest of the experience was great, fab attentive waiter and the food was delicious.
Really enjoyed visiting the place , the staff were very friendly and the inside is really nice very.
My only disappointment was the menu there wasn't much choice on there, I opted for a Burger and I can say it was beautiful, at first I did ask for the Pork If I had knew before hand it would of take 40 minutes to cook I would of placed my order right away. Something for the waiters to make the guest aware.
Definitely be back to try something else when I have more time
Chipped glasses and crockery, very average on service & poor on quality food left my Birthday/Christmas surprise recipients very underwhelmed to say the least considering we were one of only two tables in the restaurant, I expected a much better experience overall!!!
I booked a table for 5 for my friends birthday. The building is absolutely beautiful, our waitor was very nice but not very attentive.
When the food came, the birthday boy got the wrong food, he decided to just eat it becuse he didnt want to wait to another 45 min for another meal.
The waitor was not very attentive, we struggles to get anyones attention for quite a while.
When we recieved the bill, there was a £25 cover charge on the bill, when i asked what it was for, i was told it was for the perforamce. This is fair enough, but i would have liked to have known about this before hand. I had called up a few days before and nothing of the sort was mentioned...
Then there was the music. It was honestly way too loud and really aweful music for a restaurant, we could not hear each other and felt like we were in a night club.
Booked for friends birthday. I had contacted the restaurant via the online enquiry form to ask about menus, no one ever got back to me.
My friends An I all ordered the roast as we was about to tuck in we all had the same issue. The food was luke warm particularly the mash potato, so the waitress took it back. We had all put mince sauce ( for our lamb) on our meals. When the meals had returned they had simply been warmed up as they returned all 4 meals with the same mince sauce on. I would of expected fresh meals as a replacement. The meals still where not warm enough but we where Very hungry by this point. The manager checked in on us and could see we were not happy. He discounted the roasts before asked for the bill which was ok but I don’t think I would go back.
Went with my gf anf wasn't sure what to expect but was impressed by the food and service. The menu was varied and exciting, we went for the small plates which were all very tasty. They sat us near the catwalk where the entertainment was and it definitely added to the experience! The service was very attentive indeed. It is definitely aimed at "WAGs" but it still felt welcoming and we enjoyed the atmosphere. I wasn't a fan of the pretentious slogans on the wall, whoever came up with that idea needs sacking! Overall, it's definitely worth going to but be prepared to spend a few quid!
The gentleman who greeted us at the door could've been a lot more welcoming, especially considering it was a quieter night (Friday at about 9). We were told no table was prepared for us so they pushed two together, it all felt a little unorganised. The waiters were FABULOUS. Really quick to get our drinks order taken and helpful with the menus.
I had ordered a rare steak, which was over done so I didn't finish and my friend sent his back to the kitchen.
We carried on drinking there into the night as the atmosphere was brilliant but I wouldn't organise for a group of friends to go as I felt like we weren't a priority from the tables that were closer to the stage.
The food was simply sublime highly recommend the chicken waffles and duck crouquets. The atmosphere is epic, especially as we were not expecting entertainment. The staff and management were very personable and their knowledge of cocktails was spot on. This is s must visit highly recommended.
I visited on Saturday for my birthday celebrations with the girls and from the second arrived the staff were so friendly and helpful and organised a lovely big table for me and brought out birthday platter, and generally constantly making sure we were okay. The whole atmosphere was perfect in there and we all enjoyed our food from mix of bottomless brunch and usual lunch menu. It was such a fab time spent there and will be returning very soon! Thankyou! x
I booked the bottomless brunch. The waitress was more than happy to bring another glass of prosecco when asked. To get our first drink took awhile.
The food itself was tasty but cold.
I didn't have the heart to send it back.
There is a good selection of having 2 plates off the breakfast menu and unlimited drinks mimosa, prosecco and Bloody Mary for £40 per person but to get value for money I'd say you need to drink as much as you can.
I did have a nice time there and the staff were friendly enough. I wouldn't go for food again but would recommend people to give it a whirl if they don't mind the cost.
Nice atmosphere at Sunday lunch time.
Been here a few times and over all always a good experience.
Waiting staff and bar staff friendly, good food, great atmosphere.
The only downfall this time was when we arrived, the two young ladies who work as the hostess, left us stood in front of them, at the door, for a good 3-5minutes to finish off their private conversation before greeting us. Not the type of first impression you would expect from this place.
We arrive dearly for drinks before our booking, and the same two girls left us sat around in the bar area for 20mins after our allotted time, we only had the table for 2hours so again this was a negative for the day!
Not seated in the restaurant, seated in the bar area even though we had booked the table. After 20minutes no one had offered us drinks. After 40 minutes no one had offered us drinks or asked us to order our food. We were unable to get anyone’s attention and so left.
Very very disappointed as this was my wife’s birthday and it was ruined.
Booked as a party of 4 at 3.30pm for my birthday. Food was delicious and the menu was varied. Staff were really lovely. Drinks are a bit pricey but nothing too exceptional. It's quite a loud environment though (even at that time in the afternoon )so I wouldn't recommend if you were going for a quiet meal.
Music was extremely loud so conversation wasn't an option. It was also very dark so we genuinely couldn't read the menu (not that lighting would have helped because the menu was completely incoherent). Service was very slow and our table was almost completely ignored. Food was alright, but quite overpriced for what it was. The only saving grace was the decor, which was very instagram-able, if not a bit pretentious.
Took my family on a night out on Monday 25th Sept to celebrate my mom's 60th birthday and we had loads of fun... I booked in advance while I was still in South Africa and all was worth the wait...the service was great, the food was just ok( I'm sure I've had better) but the service and ambience made up for it...i would definitely go there again...
Was a bit disappointment as I was hoping for a lovely 21st birthday meal with my boyfriend. The music was far too loud I couldn't hear my boyfriend sat right infront of me or the server. There was a large party of people behind who were very rowdy but left shortly after we got there. The seating was so close together I couldn't even get into my seat. However the food was amazing can't fault that and the service was ok. We were eating dessert when the server came over to say he needed us to pay as we had to leave the table now so we paid and left overall disappointment as I thought very highly of this place and it didn't live up to my expectations.
