We had 3 appetizers, soup and three different main dishes and it was marginal. It wasn’t bad enough to send it back. The place itself is nice and the staff are as well so it does have potential. Hope it gets there.

Food wasn't great and service was belated. Wine bottle came a while after appetizers, which came in the wrong order. As a former server, this isn't hard to coordinate. Then a huge gap before the main course. After the manager checked in to say the kitchen was closing, we were actually wondering if the order had been put in it was going to come at all. Server didn't check in and we didn't have water for an extended period until a busser came by. This was our third time here and it's gotten progressively worse. Don't see us coming back for a fourth. We have been big fans of gravitas and contributed $ to the start up so this is a big disappointment.

Don’t eat here Friday/Sarurday nights - the bar is so loud we had to yell over the table. Strong weed smell and the manager just said there’s nothing he can do. Food was ok. Our drinks were wrong each time, and it took 30 min till drinks showed up. I really wanted to like it but just didn’t and I won’t be going back unfortunately.

The crab benedict was good although the poached eggs that came with it were fully cooked. Food took way too long to arrive (~45mins) considering how empty it was.

The setting was pleasant and the food good, especially the sourdough bread appetizer with caponata. I was a bit surprised that the roasted trout and crawfish linguine had little seasoning however. The pumpkin mousse torte was very good for dessert.

Two of my friends got the heirloom tomato dish and three got the crawfish linguine and they did not enjoy their meal. Two sent it back because they felt the dish was watery and chicken was bland. I got the mussels and loved it, and two friends got steak and fries and loved it. The service was very slow for our table.

The drinks are tiny. The Martini glass looked like they got it from the Barbie dream house collection TINY. I have no idea how and why they got a Michelin star. The food is basic and the service is SLOW.

With all the hype and price, we expected to be blown away. While the food was good, not much else impressed us. We had previously eaten at a place a couple of doors down that had good food, great service and at half the price. Don't have the staff talk up Michelin unless you're willing to put in the effort.

We (party of 6) enjoyed some drinks at the bar before being seated for dinner. Our server was fine, but service overall seemed slow -- perhaps they are low on staff? Fortunately, my friends and I were catching up and happy with each others' company! My meal was good, but nothing to rave about per se. Not sure if I'd dine there again, but it was worth a try.

The food was mediocre and a bit disappointing. Dressing was too heavy on the salad. Swordfish was overcooked and rather dry. Side order of rapini was tough to chew. Service was ok but nothing to write home for.

Wonderful ambience.. quiet, elegant! Dishes were delicious, interesting combinations —all tasty, well presented and filling with 5 courses!! Service was attentive.. and administered by a staff of many. Can’t wait to dine there again!

The staff was phenomenal! I was hesitant based on past reviews I read, but my mother and I were treated like royalty. We didn't have to wait or want for anything. The manager stopped by and talked with us, gave recommendations, and the wait staff made sure our drinks were never empty. The food was delicious! We will be returning!

We chose from the summer Restaurant week dinner menu. The Lobster Bisque, non-traditional and tasty with croutons, was sadly served lukewarm. The potato and black truffle tarte in puff pastry was quite delicious. The chicken paillard was tender but the frisbee salad with haricot vert and sherry with saffron dressing that accompanied it had too much tartness for our liking. The roasted trout with cauliflower puree and brown butter was a favorite and could have been perfect if not for the barely grilled carrots that could not be cut with a knife (I asked our waiter to report that fact to the chef). Both desserts--banana bread pudding and chocolate pot de creme--were clear winners.

The staff is very inattentive to their customers. We watched two tables eat and leave right beside us as we constantly waited. Food is good, but by the time you get it, you’re no longer hungry.

Wanted to try something new in dc. Glad we tried during restaurant week. Starters were good, so we were looking forward to our entrees. I ordered the heirloom tomato linguine—disappointing, linguine was lukewarm and very, very Al dente, so tough and chewy. My partner said his fish was ok. We both had the chocolate dessert which was “ok” as well—too much gelatin in it.

The service (if any) was bare minimum at best. While the server took our order, he came back 15 mins later and asked what we ordered. Once we received our drinks, a strong weed smell followed him (I know it’s DC but I still want to enjoy my meal). Waiter seemed overwhelmed but only had 3 tables. Ordered my steak frites medium, half came medium half came well done, waiter never asked how the food was (well done pieces not eaten nor offered to go box). Overall experience was mediocre which is unfortunate as my mom chose here to celebrate her birthday as her name is Michele.

Food generally of good, not great, quality. The bread on one of the small plates was well prepared and the dips with which they were served were flavorful. Portions were generally on the small side. Attention to detail was lacking. Fries were lukewarm on the top third. Trout was well presented and tasty enough but small. Service was quite mixed. One of the servers was called over to advise on wine and cocktail choices. He was quite knowledgeable and helpful. The main server was notable, however, for his absence. Desert, though tasty, was delivered a good 15 minutes before coffee, ordered at the same time. The check from the 'ghost' server was presented before we were finished with the meal. Although the marketing spin is "Michelin named" it is clear why they are not Michelin-starred.

This is a gorgeous restaurant, but service was extremely inattentive, and the food was below par for the price (in fact, a burger and fries ordered by a member of our party looked and tasted *suspiciously* like a Big Mac, causing us to speculate whether they had simply sent a staff member down the block to McDonald’s - technically it’s possible they could have done so in the time allotted.) The service to me was the most confusing part. There seemed to be a dozen attentive staff members who were only allowed to pour water and clear dishes, and one bonafide server who would only come over if one made eye contact three times and then flagged them down. Because of its location and amazing ambiance, I would likely try Michele’s again, but not for brunch. It seems this restaurant phoned it in to grab a slice of the brunch market with little thought involved, much to a brunch lover’s dismay.

My husband had the oysters, and I had the spinach and blue cheese salad for starters. The salad was unique and very tasty. The mains were trout and linguine with crayfish. The skin on the trout was a bit greasy. After I took it off, it was quite nice with the sauce. For dessert, we had the orange cake with rhubarb sauce. The cake was a bit heavy but tasty. I would have loved to have more sauce which was so good.

Efficient and friendly service. Food gets a mixed review. My companion had the trout, which he said was good. I had the duck, which was a full leg. It was only luke warm and the meat was dry. My thought was, "This has been sitting under a heat lamp too long." The duck was accompanied by a SMALL serving of spinach and mashed potatoes. And if you wanted bread there was an extra charge. I may give them another try, but it will not be my first choice.

I took myself to brunch for Mother’s Day, and since it was just me, I was able to get a reservation. Despite other reviews I read, the servers were very warm and attentive. I was never able to empty my water glass, and was asked if I wanted another drink right as I finished the first one. My main server and I even bonded over jewelry. At the suggestion of my server, I ordered the quiche that was on special for Mother’s Day. It came with a side of asparagus and tomato salad. It sounds like a lot of food, but wasn’t. It’s rare that I am able to finish my food when going to a restaurant, but save for a few green leaves, I did. It was delicious and satisfying! The drink I ordered was called “Your Highness”, which I felt was appropriate given the day. ☺️ I’d compare it to a mimosa, though not as sweet as typical mimosas. It was very pretty (had a twist of lemon and edible glitter in it), and very good. The bartender did not skimp on the pour. The ambience was perfect, and would be appropriate no matter the time of day. I’ll definitely be back. I want to try their happy hour.

My family and I went to Michele's for my wife's birthday. We were excited to try a new place for brunch and we were excited about the menu. I'm not sure what was going on in the kitchen, but it took a very long time for food to come. The manager was very attentive, but there was only so much he could do. When we finally received food it was nearly inedible. I like salt, but my herb omelette was SO salty that I couldn't eat it. Also, the cheese wasn't melted. It ended up being kind of oily and goopy. I never send things back, but I made an exception. We also had two croque madames. There was so much butter and one side wasn't actually grilled. Finally, our youngest ordered pancakes. The pancakes weren't bad, but the butter was basically just a salt vessel. We spent about two hours there and I never got a replacement entree because I had to leave. After I was gone they wanted to give my wife a birthday dessert. It was a lovely gesture, but even that came out so late that my family felt trapped there. That was the icing on the cake. (pun intended)

Great location, excellent menu and the food was beautifully prepared. But the service is slow slow slow! Restaurant was only half full but impossible to get any server’s attention. Staff is nice and friendly, just invisible when it come to simple service. Worst service I’ve had in probably ten years.
