Mitchell’s Steakhouse delivered a genuinely enjoyable downtown Columbus dinner experience, especially on a cold, rainy Friday evening where the atmosphere felt almost tailor-made for a relaxed night out. The environment is absolutely gorgeous—rich, upscale design without feeling stuffy, and the quieter ambiance made conversation effortless. If you appreciate a steakhouse that actually feels like an occasion, this place nails that part. The food had some real standouts. The Spicy Tuna Sushi Roll was a surprisingly excellent start—fresh, flavorful, and a smart way to kick off the meal. The Caesar Salad was also a standout, crisp and well-balanced without trying to reinvent the wheel. Biggest surprise of the night? The Jalapeño Au Gratin Potatoes—rich, indulgent, with just enough heat to make them memorable. Service was friendly across the board, though a bit inconsistent in attentiveness. Everyone we interacted with was warm and professional, but there were stretches where service felt a little too hands-off, especially when drinks or check-ins would have been appreciated. From a value perspective, the entrees felt fairly priced given the portion sizes and overall quality. The sides, however, are where things get a little shakier. Pricing on sides feels firmly in premium territory, and the flavor/portion consistency makes it hard to justify going overboard and ordering several to sample. Overall, Mitchell’s gets high marks for atmosphere, solid core execution, and a few genuinely standout dishes. Not flawless, but absolutely a place worth returning to when you want a polished steakhouse experience in Columbus.

We arrived in town late and starving. Mitchell’s was the answer. We began with salads: apple sslad, Caesar salad and Mitchell’s chopped. All were fresh, crisp and perfectly dressed. We followed with shrimp cocktail, salmon and lamb chops. All were incredibly tasty. The Brussels sprouts were a great accompaniment. Nicole, our hostess and server was a pleasure and attentive to our needs.

Service was mediocre. 2 filets had the right internal temperature but were charred on the outside making them bitter. Bernaise sauce had so much salt that it overwhelmed you. (Server did take off the bernaise sauce.) Good for cocktails and wine list. Fairly sparse at 8:15 on a Friday so a quiet atmosphere. Not what you'd hope for the price point overall.

We have eaten here a few times over the years, but this time were disappointed as the waiter forgot our appetizer and the food came out too quickly to enjoy our bread and wine- everything seemed a bit rushed. The food was cold and the asparagus undercooked (almost raw).

Not busy. Service was extraordinarily slow. Waited close to an hour for the check. Food flavor was underwhelming. Probably won’t return.

ABB Group was VERY happy, we reserved for 10 but had 15 and they accommodated us with no problem, food and service was perfect!!

Food was good but overpriced for average food. I had lamb although was not very seasoned but was tender. We also had the filet minion again kids average. Nothing spectacular about it. Could have went to Logan’s and receive the same style food.
