This place is not up to Ellington standards and is not a good substitute. We were the only guests there for happy hour and there was no vibe. They were “out” of one if the five HH cocktails and my second choice was terrible. I’m not sure how you mess up a margarita but she did. My husband’s chicken schnitzel was first served not as ordered and the second one was cold. My burger was very average. The best thing was the French fries and garlic aoili.. we will not be coming back and we sure miss Ellingtons!

Didn't received Happy Hour pricing since we weren't guests staying in the hotel, though the advertised HH pricing didn't state that. Food was decent, environment was okay, service was good.

Servers were overwhelmed with the number of people in the restaurant. Coffee and water glasses were not refilled, and food was very slow in arriving after placing order.

We ordered appetizers of bread, french fries, and the deviled eggs. The bread was on the dry side and was a slice of cornbread, which has some taste, but would not order again. The french fries are to die for they were perfect and would definitely recommend those. The deviled eggs were extremely small. They were four of them and they were OK but nothing great. I got the hamburger which was absolutely delicious. Perfectly cooked. Other people our table got the asparagus salad, which was very good. Someone else ordered the rabbit with pasta, which he ate all of it, we also got the crab on the menu, which was just OK not a lot of crab actually and then we got the crab dip, which was not that Tastee. The ambience is wonderful. It’s an open restaurant from the lobby and had a singer which was great. Service was wonderful. I would go back. I would just focus on the hamburger and french fries I’m still dreaming about that.

Our food was fantastic but the service was not. We had to wait a long time to be seated and again to pay our bill when we had to be at TPAC. Our server knew this but didn’t seem to care.

Had a reservation and when we showed up the restaurant side was completely empty with nobody even working at it. The front desk told us to just have a seat at a table and someone would come take our order. Sat down and waited 10 minutes and nobody came, so we walked over to the bar side and sat down as we saw some people drinking and eating a pastry. There was one bartender/server and after she served the other table she didn’t even acknowledge us and walked behind the bar and went on her phone. We sat there another 10 minutes and still no service whatsoever so we left and went elsewhere. Would not recommend.

I visited Modern Love before and after a show at the TN Performing Arts Center (TPAC) which is a 5 min walk away. Use the valet parking to get validation and tip the valet. The staff were very friendly and gave recommendations on the menu. The prices were very reasonable for Nashville. They have brunch, lunch and dinner menus and an attached coffee shop. I will return.

Strange because it was empty, and you’d think we would get better service because of it. Took forever to get seated, ages to get drinks. We did the set menu for WATER FOR ELEPHANTS which was overpriced and silly. The new decor is fun, but i will not go back to eat there. The bill also came back significantly higher than anticipated, not even close to worth the money.
