We loved dinner at Motel Morris! The decor was really nice, felt upscale but not stuffy. Went to celebrate my mom's bday and she was particularly into the theme. Everything we ate was yummy, but in particular, the Corn & the Mussels were amazing - and my boyfriend has been raving about the fried chicken for 3 days now! Our server was very friendly and patient. Most importantly, we didn't feel at all "rushed" with our meal, which means my mom was happy, which means I was happy! Will definitely return.
Absolutely love the decor, feels like Palm Springs in the city! Food was absolutely amazing! The malt vinegar fries are life changing! Great drinks and great service!
Love it here lunch or dinner - good food, beautiful space, and wonderful service always 💓
Great outdoor seating and the food was so tasty. Super cute, highly recommend :)
This was a really nice find. It was quaintly decorated and clean with really fun bathrooms. The service was excellent (I've never had my water refilled more in a restaurant!) and food was tasty.
In general, a wonderful new brunch choice!!
The food and service were great, surpassed expectations. But, the bar occupies a large portion of the space and the noise made it difficult to have a conversation. Will go back only at off hours.
The corn side was delicious. As was the soba noodles dish. That said: the salad dressing on the mixed salad was so cistrusy that I sent it back once thinking it was dressed too much. Turned out it was just poorly made dressing — it was actually hard to eat. The (kind and helpful) waiter asked us if we had any food sensitivities and even though my wife said she was gluten sensitive, her dish still showed up with multiple gluten-filled products (e.g.: croutons). Not the biggest deal, but why ask in the first place. Net-net: if this was a neighborhood place, I could deal — but we traveled 40 blocks to get here, and I expected more based on reviews and reputation.
First visit--inside very comfortable and nice ambiance, not too noisy which is a plus. Ordered the salmon, which was excellent. Glass of wine--a bit pricey, but typical for NYC. Good service, attentive but not overbearing.
Lovely service. Comfort food that’s elevated and creative. We were there on a quiet night so we could hear each other but suspect that’s not usually the case.
Very pleasant place. Not too crowded for a weekend
Motel Morris has become my go to Saturday brunch restaurant. When in Chelsea please visit #noregrets
This place was recommended by a friend. It was busy but service was still very friendly! We had corn, salmon, skirt steak and dessert. The food was amazing and came out quickly.
Food was exceptional and so nice to have a server who was so knowledgeable on the menu with some real opinions.
Great meal in a fun space.
So impressed with my first visit to Motel Morris. Food was delicious and the decor was chic. However, the service was the star. Everyone, from the hostess to the waiters to the busboy, was so welcoming and attentive. They seemed genuinely happy to be there and their positive vibes spilled over to the diners to create a very buzzy and happy dining room . I will be back.
Fun hip place with really good imaginative food. Great service and ok prices
Went for brunch. Very good from the pancakes which the kids enjoyed, to the huevos rancheros and bloody Mary’s which the adults enjoyed!
I love eating here normally, but this was my first lunchtime experience and the service was not good.
Excellent menu. Try the tuna or octopus appetizer or one of the salads. Main courses, the chicken and salmon are delicious and filling. Don't miss the custom cocktails!
loved meeting friends that come into the city. Food was fabulous and noise level was very good yoo
Excellent wait staff and very accommodating to food allergies.
Aside frim a loud noise level, it would have been nice if one in our party was warned that their fish order would appear whole. I can’t honestly say if that description is in the menu, but it was definitely a back to the kitchen situation. MM quickly responded with a different order.
Great place for a good meal. Reliable restaurant and service.
We are huge fans of Motel Morris and continue to have wonderful meals every time we go.
The staff at Motel Morris is extremely well versed with the menu and beyond accommodating. The Massaman Curry Mussels are must get.
Looking forward to visiting them soon, again.
Good bar food and ambiance.
Very relaxing lunch. Falafel dish was very tasty; flavors blended together well.
We had 5 different dishes and ALL of them were a big hit! Delicious food and incredible service!
We were in for the Bar Menu. Enough choices for a late lunch. The staff was friendly and efficient. The food was good.
Wonderful food, good service, and fun ambiance. Just a bit loud.
I like this place a lot. The food is very good. It’s a bit pricey, and it’s loud! The menu is limited. I wish they had some dinner salads.
My girlfriends and I had brunch. We were a bit early but they sat us right away. Very friendly, laid back service. Food overall was good - breakfast potatoes and mimosa were great!
Delicious food, lovely room, a bit too noisy at 6:30.
Motel Morris is amazing we keep going back. Must go!
Motel Morris is a very charming place for brunch. The service felt rushed at times, though incredibly attentive. Food and drink was average for the price, but definitely would return for brunch or dinner and would recommend to friends.
We love this place
Food specials everyday
Dog was at the table eating between people.
Motel Morris is stellar in every way~ from the warm welcome as one enters to the superior service, sublime menu, and retro decor. (The menu is an updated version of my beloved Mom's cooking~ growing up, we had a pink powder room too) Clearly every service person there loves what they do. Our server Jillian made us feel right at home. We felt spacious sitting at the bar. Our drinks and dinner were doubly delicious. The tequila drink with cranberry preserves, habanero peppers and an "orangy" dash of something divine was an instant hit. We shared the grilled gem salad, grilled ahi tuna ~ the flavors/accoutrements on each was outstanding. We placed one order of malt dusted fries ~and then ordered another:) Seamless experience. Looking forward to returning!
A neighborhood classic from the moment it opened. Deviled Eggs are a must to share and start things off. Order what ever the day of the week special is. The fine burger is on the bar menu only but easily had by asking for same. Fries with some sort of malt vinegar magic dust are perfect shoestring golden, addicting and totally unique. They added an Elvis inspired ice cream sundae to the tightly edited but stellar dessert menu recently, it is pure banana, fluff, peanut butter, perfection, and as deeply and dependably sweet as dinner at the Motel always is.
The whole experience was positive with good food, ambiance, and service.
