natuRe Waikiki is a chef-driven restaurant dedicated to Sustainable Island French cuisine.
Inspired by Hawaii's land, ocean, culture, and history, each seasonal tasting menu showcases locally sourced ingredients and tells a story unique to the islands. Thoughtful technique, a deep respect for nature, and a sense of place come together to create an intimate dining experience that reflects the spirit of Hawaii.

Guests may choose between our signature Hale Tasting Menu or our plant-based Aina Tasting Menu, both thoughtfully crafted around the seasonal bounty of the islands. In our bar area, we also offer a more casual experience featuring a Petite Tasting Menu and à la carte selections.

Led by Chef Nae Ogawa, whose career includes Michelin-starred restaurants in Tokyo, New York, and Paris, natuRe Waikiki offers a refined yet welcoming approach to modern island dining.

Always a wonderful experience at Nature! We quite enjoyed the Fall tasting menu this year. Creative delicious dishes executed very well. Additionally we riders the heart of palm beignets and harvest salad which were delicious! Of course we will return for the winter menu! 🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺

We enjoyed having Dexter as our server for the night and we loved our whole experience at natuRE; from the service food and vibes of the place. Really enjoyed our first night in Waikiki kicking off my Bach trip and will definitely recommend this place to our friends and others. Thank you again Dexter and natuRE staff!

I recently dined at Nature to celebrate my nephew’s birthday, and we chose to sit at the chef’s table because I thought it would make the evening feel a little more special. First, I want to recognize the manager, James, who was wonderful and very accommodating. Our waiter was also excellent—warm, attentive, and welcoming. The food itself was good, and I appreciated the care that went into the dishes. Unfortunately, the experience at the chef’s table was disappointing. The chef came across as very cold and unwelcoming, with very little warmth or interaction. Sitting at a chef’s table, especially while celebrating a birthday, I expected a more hospitable and engaging experience. Instead, I was surprised by how uncomfortable and unwelcome I felt. I understand there may be a language barrier, but hospitality goes beyond language. A smile, acknowledgment, or simple welcoming gesture can make such a difference. In Hawaiʻi especially, I believe the spirit of aloha—making people feel genuinely welcomed—is an important part of the dining experience. The rest of the staff demonstrated that warmth beautifully, particularly James and our waiter, and I am grateful to them. The food was good, but based on my overall experience, I personally would not rate Nature as highly as some of the other reviews I have read. With a warmer and more welcoming chef’s-table experience, it could have been a very different evening.

A very mixed experience. The food wasn’t bad, but I also couldn’t say it was particularly good. We had the plant-based tasting menu, and the highlights were definitely the amuse-bouche and dessert. The pasta course with burdock root, however, was quite disappointing, and we couldn’t finish it. The remaining courses were fine, but for the price, I didn’t find them particularly memorable from a taste perspective. The experience felt a lot like walking through an edible art museum: visually impressive and beautifully presented, but the flavors didn’t always live up to the presentation. Service was excellent, with absolutely no complaints, and the restaurant itself was beautiful. It made for a nice celebration during our honeymoon, and we’re glad we experienced it, but it’s not a restaurant I would return to.

Dinner was an absolutely amazing experience at NatuRe! We sat a the chef’s counter, and it was a lot of fun getting to watch the kitchen work throughout the evening. Our meal was an amazing as well, if you are a fan of fine dining tasting menus this is one that I 100% recommend. Pace, portion size, the wine pairing, and flavor combinations were all exceptional. It was also cool to hear the stories of the places on the islands that many of their ingredients were sourced from, and the meal really celebrated local ingredients. If you’re someone who likes to include a premium dining experience in your travels, this restaurant is a must.
