As far as good sushi goes, O-Ku ATL is very generic. The fish is not the high quality sushi grade that reputable Japanese restaurants would have. Having lived in Hawaii and So. California for many years, I learned to appreciate great Japanese cuisine, especially sushi and what it should cost. O-Ku is very pricey for average food. It isn’t bad, mind you but it doesn’t live up to its price. Tomo in Buckhead is a great example of what fine Japanese food is. It’s outstanding. Tomo’s prices are not much different than O-Ku-ATL.

This is our favorite place to get sushi in ATL. As always, the food and service were amazing. The restrooms were immaculate which is a huge plus for us. And Lauren was our waitress once again! We love Lauren! She is knowledgeable when it comes to the menu, she made sure to ask us if we had any allergies, and she recommended really good items the last time which we ordered again during this visit! We hope O-Ku is around for many years to come!

I chose O-Ku for a special occasion and was so glad I did! The service was the best I can remember at any restaurant in years -- both the host and our waiter were extremely kind and welcoming and made sure we had a great experience. The ambiance was perfect and conducive to a meaningful conversation among friends, and the food and drinks were delicious. I highly recommend O-Ku and will definitely return if I'm ever in the area again.

I am a self-proclaimed "sushi simpleton", so the concept of a fish-forward nigiri or sashimi roll doesn't appeal to me. If you are a sushi purist or someone who like nigiri, then you may appreciate it more.

I had such a great experience last time I was there that I came back. We got what is apparently an automated message that our table was ready- 30 minutes before our reservation. When we got there though, it was not ready and we had to wait another 10-15 minutes. Food was ok. My son and husband enjoyed their short ribs, but had to share 1 knife. Server said they only had the one knife. My drink was too sweet. When I reluctantly sent it back, it was too sour- not a fresh drink like I was promised- more like a dump of something in the original drink. My husband told the server that it was my 50th bday, but this was not acknowledge in any way. Have never been to a restaurant on a bday where there isn’t even a cup cake offered. The night proved to be disappointing.

I had been to O-Ku once prior, but this time it was even better. Service was great, food was excellent, and so were the drinks. If people want an affordable yet super nice sushi place, this is the spot!

Had such a great time @ O-Ku. The service was amazing & far beyond expectation; Marcel did an amazing job taking care of us, and management also did well to make the night special for us. The food was fantastic & reasonably priced - especially the happy hour menu! I can’t recommend O-Ku enough. We will definitely be coming back, and perhaps even visit for dinner/date night on a regular basis.

I went here for my birthday and had a great experience. Everyone was so friendly from the moment we were greeted at the host stand, to our waitress, and even the manager. The spicy tuna roll was delicious along with the mt.Fuji. The drinks were refreshing and would definitely return!

O-Ku is a wonderful spot to celebrate a birthday. The staff gave our adult daughter the VIP treatment making her feel so special. The food was delicious and delighted everyone in our party, even the vegetarians!

Wow!! The ownership has created a culture rarely experienced anywhere. From initial greeting to your exit the entire team is is super friendly and upbeat, genuinely engaged in your welfare to ensure your dining experience is un-matched. We have been making gyoza at home for years as a family event and have yet to perfect the lacy crispy platform that chef presented face up. Lobster temaki and the selection of nigiri, sashimi, and aburi that the server helped me select was superb - hefty slabs and uber fresh. Best saba I’ve had in a long time. My first sushi was 1997 in NYC and spent some time in Japan. O-ku ranks as one of my top ten best experiences. My only regret is not knowing of O-ku i24-hours n advance to reserve omakase. Will definitely visit next time I’m in ATL!!

Valet can get full pretty quickly but there’s a parking garage right next door. Food was great, atmosphere was nice. Service was attentive without being pushy. Can get a bit loud inside but not so that you can’t still hear your company. The matcha crème brûlée is a must try.

My husband and I had the most wonderful experience last night. We were celebrating our anniversary and they made us feel special from the second we walked in the door. We loved our server Marcel, and the food was delicious. We will definitely be back again soon!

The service was superb! The staff made my 20th birthday memorable with a special dessert and menu. The manger and our waiter in particular were very thoughtful and catering to our experience. I had the best birthday and I would definitely go again. I’ve been to Japan, so I know how hard it is to find Japanese restaurants state-side that have same high quality fish. But O-Ku pass all expectations. I loved it and I can’t wait to go again!
