We at Off The Rails pride ourselves on being one of the most unique places to eat and drink on the Isle of Wight; set along the old railway line (“Causeway") in Yarmouth’s former train station, the restaurant overlooks the outstanding natural beauty of the Yarmouth Marshes and Mill Copse. There is no other view like ours in Yarmouth. Being located along the Causeway makes it the perfect pitstop for walkers, cyclists, and those visiting the Isle of Wight as the restaurant is just a 5-minute stroll from the Yarmouth Wightlink Ferry terminal.

We openly welcome dogs in our restaurant and offer an extensive dog menu, which includes a range of dry meals, treats, and even dog-friendly ice cream to keep them cool during the summer months.

What a treat. Best meal in ages. Superb roasts bit different from the norm - the beef bone marrow tacos were so good and topped off with a top gin and tonic crème brûlée. Hats off to the chef. Staff also so friendly efficient and helpful with wheelchair access. Also great disabled toilet facilities for those who need. Great atmosphere, something a little different. 100% recommend.

Very unusual and original way of serving the food. The food is delicious and really well presented. Service was good. Only downside is that 12.5% is automatically added to the bill as a service charge. When we asked for this to be removed as we wanted to choose the amount ourselves it felt like we offended the waitresses. Food is already quite expensive and to add 12.5 % to a bill of already nearly £100 seems a little excessive.

We've been meaning to take a trip here for over a year now and finally managed it on this trip to the island. It didn't disappoint! From the moment we walked in, to the moment we left, the service was impeccable, our waiter (gethin I think was his name) was knowledgeable on the menu when my friend asked about the spice level on her choice (the 'mind the gap') and happily let me ask for my 'trackside' to come without the tartare sauce. He recommended the homemade pink lemonade to me which was simply divine! We'll most definitely be back next time we're over on the island!

Very nice place. Lots of quirky links to the railways throughout. The staff were lovely and very welcoming. Drinks were homemade ginger beer and shandy and were very nice. We chose the off the rails ‘burger’ and fries. The food was nice but we both felt over priced at £18 each and £6 for the shandy £5 and ginger beer. The 12.5% service charge is added at the request of the bill without mention to the customer and the total bill was £54 for two burgers and fries, a dog sausage and two drinks plus the service charge. We both feel this was overpriced.

Food is always good and service friendly. The only problem that I and some of my fellow diners experienced is the rather uncomfortably hard chairs.

We have eaten here twice now with different friends, each time ordering different meals all of which have been truly stunning. Rachel and her team really care about the experience customers have. It’s how a go to destination for us.

A favourite venue but sadly let down by inattentive and very slow service. Plates not cleared, orders not taken left without desserts or coffee. Food as good as ever. Service charge added unrequested to the bill!
