Officina [oh · fee · she · nah], or “workshop,” is an Italian-inspired culinary collective from Chef Nicholas Stefanelli of Michelin-star Masseria, Philotimo, and the newly opened Le Clou. Officina seeks to bring the very best of Italian gastronomy to Washington, D.C., and is an ode to Stefanelli’s travels, training, and distinctly Italian-American upbringing.

We look forward to welcoming you for unique experiences that capture the essence of Italy. From sunset cocktails atop our Terrazza or a weekday lunch in our Cafe.

They are completely disorganized! We arrived for our reservations, along with many others, and were told to wait. After almost 30 minutes we, along with the others all waiting for our tables, started getting upset. We learned they were running 2 hours behind regardless of reservations!!! We left.

Despite the downstairs being closed and half the upstairs tables left empty, service was pretty abysmal. We heard others complain about it too...it wasn't just our experience. They must have a staffing shortage because half the empty tables remained unbussed for quite a while. And everyone who didn't have a reservation was turned away. Additionally, the food was good but not great. Blandness seemed to be the overwhelming feature of nearly every dish we tried, from the burrata appetizer to the shrimp/spaghetti combo to the tagliatelle bolognese. The one standout was a half carafe of Pira Barbaera red wine, which was both delicious and more than we could drink for $43. But the chances of us ever returning to this restaurant and slim and none. And, oh yeah, they add a 3% surcharge to every bill.

It seemed the servers were overwhelmed bc many people were sat at the same time going to Jerry Seinfeld at the anthem so service was slow. It would seem they should be used to this. Espresso martini was a bit watery and food was ok.

**Title: Disappointing Experience — Overpriced and Understaffed** We had a 6:15 p.m. reservation before attending a show at The Anthem, and unfortunately, our experience was disappointing from beginning to end. The restaurant was extremely busy and appeared inadequately staffed for the evening's demand. My wife ordered a chocolate martini that she felt was extremely watered down. When she raised the issue, our waiter initially argued that the drink was fine before ultimately agreeing to remove it from our bill. The food was a mixed experience. The Caesar salad was good but overdressed, and our pasta dish was tasty but arrived lukewarm rather than properly hot. Service was exceptionally slow. Our waiter appeared to be doing his best, but he was clearly stretched too thin. We ordered two Manhattans, totaling approximately $60, and waited more than 20 minutes for them to arrive. By then, we had to settle our bill and rush through our expensive cocktails to make it to the show. We had also requested a dessert menu but ultimately couldn't order anything because of the delays. A restaurant at The Wharf should be prepared for the predictable rush of customers attending performances at The Anthem. At these prices, diners should reasonably expect properly prepared food, timely service, and an enjoyable experience—not a rushed, frustrating evening. **Overall, very disappointing and poor value for the money. We would not return based on this experience.**

Very poor experience. Chaos at check in . Food was so slow to come out we had to cancel our order and leave to get to our show. Portions of the two apps we got were very small and overpriced. The whole delay ruined our night as it caused us to be hungry and late to the show at the Anthem. Very disappointing.

We had a 6pm reservation but we could tell when we walked in that something was off; people waiting by the nervous hostess with an unhappy buzz. Service was inexperienced and slow. We waited 90 mins to get our entrees, which required escalation from our server to a manager. It felt like they were avoiding us, and we saw other tables experiencing the same. The food was overcooked for one person and undercooked for two. If I had to guess, the chef(s) didn’t show up. Definitely will not go there again.

It took over 30 minutes to place our order. We then were rushed to go to our event. Service was non existent in regard to our drinks and ordering our food. I had to find a waitress to take our order after 30 minutes. 3 out of 4 meals were good. 1 meal had cold pasta. Specialty drinks were not good. Spent $250 on an average to below average experience.

I really thought this would be a great Italian restaurant, but the food was average at best, and it was extremely overpriced for the quantity and quality of food, and the service was incredibly slow. We really wanted to like it, but we will never go back there again.

We came to Officina for a birthday dinner, and the setting on the Wharf was lovely. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to it. Several dishes were noticeably too oily, which made the meal feel heavy. It was a nice spot for the occasion, but we left disappointed with the food.
