The place is lovely but we were waiting 45 minutes for our starters (Which arrived like warm) and about another 30 mins for main course. There also seemed to be a lack of system in place for locating our coats afterwards

Very slow service, staff were carrying furniture around and cleaning/closing up, starters were ridiculously small, there was barely a mouthful of food in them, main course was nothing special, deserts were OK, and two of them were mixed up. Very expensive at almost €200 for four people with only a soft drink each. Very disappointed as I'm usually a fan of Old Street.

Provided the service improves. The food was lovely. The service was lacking. There wasn’t a finger bowl with the chicken wings. The small glass of sparkling water I was given was €2.00 while a bottle would have been about €4.00. This wasn’t brought to my attention. We got a bottle of still water for the table and when it was empty we weren’t approached or offered another bottle.

We went to Old Street for my mom's 72nd birthday, on a Saturday., very recently We've been to the place before and liked it--good food, cozy atmosphere, relaxing.
Not that Saturday. There was a big birthday party in the room adjacent to the main dining area, with live music. Needless to say that everyone was shouting on the top of the loud music. It was like we were in a pub, not a fine dining restaurant. My mom didn't have a good experience for her birthday. We couldn't even have a normal conversation--had to shout the whole time.
I would recommend to management that if they want to have big parties in the future, they need find a way to isolate the birthday room, so that it's not that noisy and unpleasant for the rest of the customers. Or to tell people when calling them to confirm the reservation that there will be a big party and will be noisy. We wouldn't have booked there.
Especially for the cost of dinner, it felt that we were in a glamorous pub that night, not a relaxing upscale restaurant.
And because it was so busy, it took a while for the drinks and food to arrive, which also wasn't fair from our perspective.
We did like this place before but seems like we won't be coming back anytime soon, sorry. Hope management takes note. When I go out to a restaurant and pay enough for a dinner, my expectation is that I will receive a relaxing dinner experience. Which we didn't get that night at all.

I don’t normally write these but my wife and I had such a great experience that I had to. The moment you arrive your greeted by friendly staff, the atmosphere and decor is wonderful in Old Street. We didn’t have long to wait between courses when we ordered. All the staff were very well mannered and able to show you around the menu in terms of the food and drink were it’s located and what is best with what.
Overall my wife and I had an fantastic evening and would highly recommend it for other couples and family’s to dine in.

I would as it’s a stunning venue. Sunday lunch was a lil quiet at 2 pm. We had 2 servers on the table, one fella was a lovely chap. Chatty and friendly. The other lad not so much. Very surly and had to be asked a few times for things. Music was all wrong too. For the surrounds.

Welcome - warm and gracious. Restaurant- spotless. Service - excellent Food - good variety, absolutely delicious. Good portions, value for money. Pudding - plum tart shared between my companion and myself was luscious, tempted to order a second portion. Old Street never fails to impress. Highly recommended.

Hi, I absolutely love love love this place, my third time there on Friday night but first time sitting downstairs, have to say would not like to sit downstairs again ! too noisy, way too noisy, I couldn't hear a thing my hubby said to me all night, and when you get out once in a blue moon with hubby ( last 2 times were with the girls ) it would have been nice to have that much needed conversation but way too noisy. the last 2 times I was upstairs which I love ( I asked could we be moved upstairs if table available when we were seated downstairs but not possible ) pity as hubby didn't like the noise level downstairs either. Personally I don't see the need for a live act in a restaurant ( background music is fine ) do people not go out to chat and eat ?? Lesson learnt, ask for table upstairs only if I go on a friday night !! Apart from that, the food was amazing.

Return visit and it was as good as the first time :) The only tiny issue was on this visit we were sitting close to the radiators and it was a little too warm for me. Other than that a great night out.

Love this restaurant, staff great and service excellent, have been before and look forward to going again, if I had to find fault it would only be the disappointing filter coffee on the Friday supper deal.

Gorgeous atmosphere, tasty food and lovely staff. Service was a little slow with clearing plates and food coming out but it might have been because it was busy Sunday lunch service. Staff were so lovely and the general atmosphere was nice and relaxed so we didn’t mind too much. Would definitely recommend.

One of the starters, sautéed Gambas, came out on a skillet but Luke warm. The waiter poured some wine into a glass to taste and when I said yes it was fine he took the glass, with the wine in it, away to change them to red wine glasses??!! I asked for it back because I was paying for a full bottle but I found it a bizarre way to do it.
Overall it’s a gorgeous place but the food and service is not worth the very expensive bill you get at the end of it.

Fabulous food. Wonderful staff who knew and understood the menu and gave great advice. The menu was very fairly priced considering the location and time of year.
Sensitive renovation that has retained character and ambience of the original building.
This restaurant has become our restaurant of choice in Malahide.
Its was a little bit noisy but there were 2 work groups in for office parties. So would believe its normally quieter.
Floating island desert is amazing.
